Orlando City and the Orlando Pride made their roster decisions following the 2021 season and of course the first of those dropped the day our last episode dropped. Back from vacation, I reconvened with David Rohe to see how close we got on our predictions on the last show. It turns out we didn't do too badly. We started with Orlando City's decisions and which ones were surprising and who the Lions are trying to bring back (but haven't yet). We also touched on the Facundo Torres rumor and how it could be a sign that Orlando City is ready to get younger in its approach to using Designated Player slots. We also discussed the Orlando Pride roster decisions and which ones were surprising. The Pride also have a new coach, who should know everything she needs to know ahead of the upcoming NWSL Draft. Multiple Orlando Pride players who that have been a core part of the club for several years have left the team for Gotham and San Diego. We talk about the departures of Ashlyn Harris, Ali Krieger, and Alex Morgan, and what it means for Orlando. We also talk about the scapegoat Morgan has become for a vocal minority of fans and why a striker who doesn't create their own scoring chances is never going to be successful on a team that struggles to provide service. Also, Jodie Taylor went to San Diego and Emily van Egmond went to Australia — at least for the time being in the case of the latter. This week's mailbag asked about the Philadelphia Union's playoff COVID situation and birthday wish lists. If there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here's how No. 275 went down: 0:15 - Being nice to others online, Orlando City's player decisions, and a transfer rumor that's been hanging around. 32:32 - Orlando Pride contract decisions, three star NWSL players exit the club, and a new coach for the Pride as well. 1:09:26 - Mailbag time! We unanimously add Pele in his prime to the Lions and it turns out the pandemic isn't over. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Orlando City is on a three-game unbeaten run after a pair of uninspiring 1-1 draws against rival Inter Miami (at home) and perenially bad FC Cincinnati (on the road) since our last episode. The Lions could, and should, have taken more from both games but points are points and the soccer gods seem unwilling to allow Oscar Pareja to have his preferred starters all healthy at the same time, so second place in the conference isn't a bad place to be, all things considered. We break down both 1-1 draws and make our Man of the Match selections for each and we've actually got some variety in our choices this week. We also talk about the recent absence of Daryl Dike and the continued absence of Alexandre Pato, as well as whether those things mean anything, especially since Orlando City made no signings before the secondary transfer window closed. Oh, and Nani and El Pulpo are All-Stars! Eugene Rupinski from FMF State of Mind jumped on with us to help us preview Orlando City's upcoming Leagues Cup match against Liga MX side Santos Laguna. Big thanks to Eugene, who knows Santos and Liga MX quite well. We'd be flying blindly into Thursday without him. The Orlando Pride got a couple of key starters back from international duty and took another step forward under Becky Burleigh with a 2-0 win on the road against the Chicago Red Stars. Sydney Leroux scored again and Jodie Taylor seems to be finding her footing with Orlando, but the team just seems better organized and less likely to make critical errors the last couple of matches. We discuss the job Burleigh has done since taking over and the signing of draft pick Viviana Villacorta (who is, unfortunately, out for the year with an ACL injury). This week's mailbag has concerns over dropped points against teams low in the table, and Daryl Dike's existence on the OCSC roster. If there's anything — and we do mean anything — you want us to address on the next show, just ask by tweeting it to us at @TheManeLand with the hashtag #AskTMLPC. We close the show with our key match-ups and score predictions for Orlando City vs. Santos Laguna. That's all for this week. Stay safe and enjoy the show! Here's how No. 258 went down: 0:15 - Orlando City got a pair of underwhelming draws, but the team is in second place and every point counts. We break it down and rant a bit about injury report shenanigans (again). 43:16 - Eugene Rupinski tells us what kind of team the Lions will face when Santos Laguna visits Exploria Stadium Thursday night. 1:04:08 - Our Orlando Pride-Chicago Red Stars breakdown, mailbag questions, and our key match-ups and predictions for Orlando City vs. Santos. “It is hard to maintain a low body fat percentage on a Vegan diet without increasing activity significantly.” I got into nutrition after my mother died of cancer and after understanding the effects food had on my body. I have ulcerative colitis and certain foods caused inflammation and certain foods caused the opposite...or neutral. When I was learning nutrition, I was alongside athletes...I remember someone saying some people eat to live and some people live to eat...different attitudes and beliefs around food... the athletes were asking really intelligent questions...if In add this and this will it improve my speed....and I asked questions like...yeah but if you fancy a bit of chocolate? and i realised that they believed food was food and i believed food was pleasure... To finally understand what my fellow athletic students were talking about, we have Matt Lovell on the show. Matt is a specialist performance nutritionist with 18 years practical experience in elite sports, working directly with international teams (England Rugby and Football, Manchester City, Tottenham, Aston Villa) and many individual athletes (Jonny Wilkinson, James Haskell, Jermain Defoe, Jodie Taylor, Will Sharman, Vic Wild to name a few).
