The opposition will refer allegations made by a former staffer for Deputy Premier Roger Cook that she helped fast-track hard border entry applications for Labor donors to the Corruption and Crime Commission. Former Labor electorate officer Sanja Spasojevic claimed from April to June 2020, Cook tasked her with fast-tracking G2G applications for people and their families involved in cash-for-access Labor business roundtables. The allegations came during Spasojevic's unfair dismissal hearing before the Public Service Appeal Board over her sacking in October, 2020, after being accused of taking unauthorised annual leave. Opposition Leader Mia Davies said the claims were serious and needed to be investigated further. "I've got a letter on my desk that is about to be sent to the Commissioner John McKechnie of the Crime and Corruption Commission. They are serious allegations that need to be referred to the Crime and Corruption Commission," Mia Davies said on Perth Live.  "If the allegations are true, in addition to providing preferential treatment for those that donate to the Labor party. We've also got a huge betrayal of trust for those families and businesses who were separated and denied entry into WA under the McGowan Government G2G system."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

WA Premier to extend state of emergency powers to January

WA opposition leader Mia Davies has accused the McGowan government of using its majority in both houses to ram through amendments to existing COVID-19 laws which would extend state of emergency powers to January 4 next year. Davies told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett the Opposition would be briefed on the amendments on Tuesday but was told the government wanted them passed through the lower house by this evening. “This is an unbelievable abuse of power by this government, very arrogant,” she told Bartlett. The amendments would give the state continued powers to enforce mask mandates, isolation requirements, close contact rules and proof of vaccination requirements for aged care facilities and hospitals. “I'm absolutely sure this government could achieve those outcomes looking after the most vulnerable in the community ... without extending these powers,” she said. A state of emergency was first declared on March 15, 2020 and has been rolled over fortnightly ever since, with the extension coming as WA's COVID-19 cases reached a record 12,390 on Tuesday, the highest in the nation, with 61,755 active cases currently across the state. Sky-high iron ore prices have fuelled Western Australia's record $5.6 billion budget surplus, making it the best performing economy in the nation. While the budget includes a $30.7 billion infrastructure program over the next four years, the timelines for 16 major projects have been significantly pushed back due to the significant workforce and skills shortages. The leader of the opposition says the state government's announcement to end logging in native forests by 2024 is a direct attack on an industry that can be sustainably managed. Mia Davies, a former state forestry minister, says it's appalling the government made a decision like this with zero consultation. Forestry minister Dave Kelly says he'll work with industry as it transitions towards the 2024 date to end logging in WA's native forests.

[51:12] The Loading Dock in San Diego lends itself to events like this! Great space. [52:37] This event is in sunny San Diego, in Little Italy, which The Loading Dock is business in the front, and party in the back. It's worth it for out of market people to come. [54:11] Constructive feedback on moderating a panel better. [55:42] Great Q&A questions for the panel, and it really challenged them. Michael believes that communication is the key ingredient to any and all successful ventures. As a young boy, he was teased and bullied because of a stutter. He knows how difficult it is to know what you want to say, but don't have the tools or the means to deliver it. Michael harnessed the power of creativity through a strong devotion to success and hasn't looked back since. Well, that's really not fair... if you know Michael then you know he wouldn't turn his back on anyone, but you know what I'm getting at. Butler’s clients have been featured on: Fox News, CNN, Dr. Phil, Fox Business, Inc 500, Garnered 2 Movie Deals, Dallas Morning News, San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle and many more. “We help authors, speakers and entrepreneurs sell more books Online so they can charge more for speaking and consulting,” says Butler. Michael D. Butler - The Interview As with any interview, I felt the nerves prior to interviewing Michael because I really wanted to do a good job. I was little nervous because of who he is and what he's accomplished. Any nerves or unease quickly faded away from the moment I started talking with Mr. Butler. While we had touched bases in the past here and there, I never had the chance to really talk with him. I am so glad he accepted my invitation. Not only did he deliver in a big way, he offered some amazing insight into the world of book publishing and marketing. Successful people tend to surround themselves with other successful people and that does hold true for Michael, but he also embraces people entering this market without the stories of success...yet. During the call, he offered to provide a 20-Minute FREE consultation to talk with Michael D. Butler himself. Not someone from his staff, but anyone who took the time to listen to this episode of the Stop Riding the Pine show, gets full access to Michael to ask any questions you want. I HIGHLY recommend taking advantage of this - all you have to do is send him an email to CEO@MichaelDButler.com and mention you heard Michael on the Stop Riding the Pine podcast show. We covered several topics, but one of the topics in particular was extraordinary and fascinating. He was involved in helping bring to market a book written about human trafficking. He worked with author Pamala Kennedy, a distant relative to the Kennedy family, to both publish and market her book. Due to the success of her book, in large part due to Micheal's efforts, Mrs. Kennedy was offered a movie deal. Here's an interview Mr. Butler gave on Fox News about human trafficking: What's Next for Michael? Michael Sr. has a lot of things coming down the pipe most of which are still secrets; however, I did manage to get him to talk about one event coming up. He is real excited about the distribution of Europe, Australia and South America.
