Yes!  You are in.  A lot of hate out there.  How about you?  Do you love or hate more?  Christians, this play of the day will be a big challenge for some of you?  Here you go...Thank you Marcus Rogers for that opening hook, Best Life.  Please support, buy, subscribe his music.  I do via Apple.  Thank you Pastor Rick Warren for another/countless play of the day.  You can hear more of that listen at Daily Hope, pastorrick.com.  That one was published on the 1st of May 2025, entitled. "You've Got to get Connected, Part 2"Alright you.  Are you a lover or a hater?  If you are not a Christian, you are off the hook.  If you claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are obligated to love.  In fact, I loved the simplicity of that Play of the Day.  We are not allowed to hate people.  We may hate their actions/flaws.  Does everyone approve of everything you do or say?  Are you married?  You don't even need to be married to answer that question.  Of course not, you are flawed, Rom 3:23.  So are your most annoying people.  So do you pray for or curse them?  You don't have to take my words for it.  Nor even Pastor Rick's.  What about your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's?“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matt. 5:44)Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive those who sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them, he will not forgive you.  Matt 6:14Doesn't mean you need to be besties with those that hurt you.  Not at all.  Trust must be earned...and some never will.  It does mean you let God do what he does best, justice.  On this broken planet or after.  You give that hurt to your Heavenly Father.  Say Abba, this is between you and that person that hurt me now.  I'm tired of carrying that hurt around like a ball and chain.  My brother-in-law Chad, whom I love very much, is an atheist.  He gets quite wrapped up in politics and likes to point out hypocrisy on just one side.  He does have valid points at times.  He shares something about how a book hasn't killed anybody but we will ban books and not guns.  After thought and prayer, I replied, if we all followed Jesus Christ's words in a book called the Bible, there would be no wars, no racism, no hate and no definitely no mass shootings.  Yet there are many that want to ban that very book (far left and far right depending on what sect).  So what does Love got to do with it?  EVERYTHINGMatthew 22:36-40New International Version36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Great message from Pastor Rick Warren. Fluffy and I thank you for tuning in and SHARING!

FriDudes - Getting Real. Pursuing Truth.

Yes you are in!  Did you get attacked this week?  Welcome to the club.  For we are guilty of both.  Why?  You know we are in the Hope and Encouragement business.  Part of Hope is learning and understanding flaws yours and mine.  Here is your Play of the Day...Thank you Pastor Rick Warren for another mic drop.  We don't have an official count yet I believe you are our mic drop leader.  Lots of wisdom in Daily Hope.  What a teacher.  God has blessed you for an extended season of wisdom.Opening hook, Best Life by Marcus Rogers.Okay, how about you?  Does that make sense?  Avid listener you know I play the Rom 3:23 card pretty much every week.  Why?  Because we are ALL flawed.  Ok, some more than others yet that verse explains a LOT!  Most of us attract people with our best behavior.  Then, over time, our flaws get exposed.  Flaws = friction.  The best relationships you know don't avoid friction.  They just navigate friction very well.  Whether you believe in Jesus Christ or not, your relationships will not last without implementing his teachings.  Matt 7: 24-27 is one of my favorites.  Jesus' words...What are Jesus' teachings, fruits of the Spirit:  Grace, Forgiveness, Serving one another, Love, Choosing to Love.Blessed are the peacemakers.  Doesn't mean you are supposed to be besties with everyone.  Some people you are best to keep your distance.  As for those that you took an oath in marriage in front of God or your children or best friends, you will navigate friction well by following Jesus' teachings.  Lori and I have been married for 30+ years now.  Jesus is the reason and why we have navigated some very hard times/storms.  Share what works.  Confession, My worst holes dug and I have dug some biggies have come when leaning on my own understanding and pride.  Tough Love is part of love.  Jesus gave tough love. If you listen to the rest of that Daily Hope, "What Destroys Relationships and What Builds Them Up, Part 3", published on 7 March 2025, Pastor Rick gets into it.  As the saying goes, friends tell you what you want to hear.  True friends will lovingly tell you what you need to hear.  Confession, I have lost friends over this.  Not everyone wants to hear what they should hear.  For the record, I will welcome them back with open arms.  I will also keep telling them what they need to hear.  Their choice to stick around.  How do you know if you are sharing great advice?  Crucial question.  Let the Owner's Manual for Life be your guide.  Then let those that know the Owner's Manual for Life best also be your quality control.  James 5:19-20 says, "My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sinsProverbs 12:1New International Version12 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,    but whoever hates correction is stupid.Matthew 18:15-17New International VersionDealing With Sin in the Church15 “If your brother or sister[a] sins,[b] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'[c] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector. When in doubt, Matt 22: 36-40

The best time for college retreats seemed to be at the beginning of Christmas break and return from that trip the day before Christmas. Was it successful yes... for several years. Was it worth it? For the students yes.... for my family who was very gracious to me? No. Why? Because all things in Jesus name are not necessarily the best thing to do. That sounds wild right? We did eventually move these trips to fall during spring breaks, but you have to use at least 2 different spring break weeks to cover a lot of the students since they were not always at the same time. The beauty of the Rocky mountains was always amazing! But... I had not yet learned the one rule, in which I will repeat over and over again for your sakes as leaders... and for you and your families health. ”You MUST say NO to something BEFORE you say YES to something else." FYI... That NO should be to some other equal project, ministry, or hobby that takes time from your family and health. All around health is important! Peter Drucker, the Father of  Modern Business and mentor taught Pastor Rick Warren that specific truth. He would always say, “Rick... Tell me what you gave up before you tell me what you are doing next." A few things... It was the best time to get college students enthused and signed up. It was a beautiful time of the year to hit the slopes. Students came from all over the United States and that enthused the local students. The Gospel was shared and souls were saved. What would I do differently now? I would never go at Christmas time. That time should have been reserved for my wife, children, and their memories. I would have moved it to every other year and not every year. _______________________________ Looking for a new student ministry resource? You can read my book “Burn Up Not Out: A Student Ministry Fire Builder's Guidebook” here: https://amzn.to/3PtBTIy Listen to more episodes from the Youth Worker On Fire Podcast here: https://bit.ly/3saDyYq _______________________________ EPISODE CREDITS Email us at: youthworkeronfire@gmail.com Hosted by: Doug Edwards Theme Song: "The One and Only" by The 808 : Listen to more at https://bit.ly/3FTYIAJ Intro/Outro Voiceover: Michael Helms : https://www.youtube.com/@MichaelTheSoundGuy  Edited by: Secret Roots Music House

We delve into the addictive nature of sugar and its potential role in depression and dementia, all while emphasizing the need for fostering healthier relationships with food and substances. Learn about the fascinating insights gained from brain scans and discover a free online test that can help you better understand your brain type, ultimately enabling a more personalized approach to mental health. The conversation explores the impact of physical health on brain function, and we touch on the transformative power of music in enhancing creativity, mood stabilization, and relaxation. Listen in as we discuss the importance of aligning lifestyle choices with natural rhythms and explore alternative mental health treatments like diet, exercise, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). ------------------ Dr. Daniel G. Amen believes that brain health is central to all health and success. When your brain works right, he says, you work right; and when your brain is troubled you are much more likely to have trouble in your life. His work is dedicated to helping people have better brains and better lives. The Washington Post called Dr. Amen the most popular psychiatrist in America and Sharecare named him the web's #1 most influential expert and advocate on mental health. WARNING: This episode contains conversations about suicide and may not be suitable for all listeners/viewers. What do you do when your worst nightmare comes true after a painful battle with a loved one's mental illness? How do you hold the tension between hope and the mysteries of God in your life after loss? For author, speaker, advocate and pastor's wife Kay Warren, learning to hold onto hope after losing her son Matthew while accepting the mysteries of all she did not understand was difficult. Kay and her husband, author and Pastor Rick Warren, had walked a long, difficult journey through Matthew's lifelong struggle with mental health and faced every parent's worst fear coming true when their adult son died by suicide. Kay experienced the depths of grief and sorrow as she wrestled with God to make sense of such a tragedy. But her pain has given her the opportunity to become an advocate for mental health in the church and a voice of hope for parents who are facing a similar journey. In this honest conversation, Davey and Kay talk about how reality, grief, and hope must all co-exist together, why we need both hope and mystery as we look back on our pain, and how to deal with the shame and guilt after losing a loved one to suicide. If you've found it hard to hold on to hope in the darkness of your suffering, this episode will light a pathway towards it.   Website: kaywarren.com Instagram: www.instagram.com/kaywarren75 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KayWarrensPage/?paipv=0&eav=AfY_xOqKU-Jx2D7qUIrDyTcC06fvFdOpDN2jQGtWx5eaM8oDWFTo5QgQAdWocCmQs_A&_rdr Get the masterclass Restoring Trust in Marriage: Finding a Way Forward After Hurt with Cameron and Karissa Sprinkle at nothingiswasted.com/masterclass Use the code BLACKFRIDAY20 to get 20% off almost anything in the Nothing is Wasted Store between now and December 1st at nothingiswasted.com/store You asked for it. Yes!  You are in!  Work.  Most of us complain about it.  Yet very interesting play of the day.  The correlation of free time and depression.  Make sense, if you are living life and feel like you are not fulfilling a purpose, that can be depressing and empty.  Here's the good news.  You do have a purpose.  You are here for a reason.  Here you go...Thank you Pastor Rick Warren, a mainstay on our play of the days.  If you would like to hear more of that play, check out Daily Hope, that one is entitled "The Purpose of Work, Part 2", published on the 11th of March 2024.You have a purpose.  You do.  How do I know that?  Jer 29:11.  You don't believe that?  Well, that's on you.  Your choice.  For those that believe, that is an epic verse and promise.  A few years back, the FriDudes tackled a book called "Halftime" by Bob Shank.  Epic read.  Life changing for some of us.  Further back, we also read "Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.  Yes, that Rick.  Game changing for some of us.  Why just some of us?  Your choice.  Your choice to read and your choice to implement. So game changing that we have a FriDudes named Greg.  He's been featured before.  He was so moved by especially Half Time that he created something that we call Gcrosssurf.org.  In the midst of a rebrand.  Things in the works.  Stay tuned.  Bottom line, Greg set out to better identify, goal/life plan/God's plan, write it down make it happen.  Identify strength and confess weaknesses.  Super bold.  Not for the faint of heart.  Back to the HalfTime book, tracked a bunch of guys that made a bunch of money.  In particular some Exxon retired execs.  Worked hard, retired, comfy, played, golf and on average died 10 years too early on average.  Many depressed, lost their purpose.  Their former jobs were their identity.  No longer needed.  Again, lost.  Some of you are now way, you are saying I never have to worry about money and I can be depressed and empty?  Yep, have you read David or King Solomon?  Then, yes!  Ever wonder why the rich and famous overdose and die...repeatedly?  There you go.  “Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes.Ecclesiastes 1:2-9 NLT - Bible.comHang in there.  Full circle.  Yet if you tune in.  Ask God why and keep pursuing, match your gifts into service and your heart will overflow...Jeremiah 29:11New International Version11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.Romans 8:28New International Version28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

Yes!  You are in!  This play of the day is unique.  We don't always go to the preachers.  Here is an intriguing conversation between an atheist and a believer, here you go...Very intriguing!  Thank you Adam Carolla, the controversial atheist...well perhaps agnostic that isn't afraid to have Christians, Jews, Muslims, others on his program.  You may not agree with him.  Yet you can't accuse him of censoring.  In fact, ironically, it has been the censoring and control of the left that has pushed him toward believing or at least envying believers and faith in a God.Next, kudos to Neil McDonough.  You may need to web search to recognize him.  When you see him, you'll probably say, oh yeah, that guy.  Now, I definitely want to check out this movie called The Shift...and I will.  Props to you Neil for speaking up.  Most of Hollywood wants to cancel you...yet that has Rom 8:28, created a new opportunity.  Studios like Angel and the Robertsons are pumping out great movies and content.  This year alone I saw Jesus Revolution and The Stand...amazingly well done and brought tears to my eyes.  If you would like to hear more of that Neil McDonough interview, check out the Adam Carolla podcast, "Rob Schneider, Intimacy Coordinators and Movie Accents" published on the 13 of December 2023.  And yes, Neil is on that one, roughly about the last hour of that podcast. So some of you are asking, why do you listen to an atheist/agnostic?  Let alone promoting?  Call me a hopeless romantic, I believe in people.  Yes, they are flawed.   Adam is flawed just like Pastor Rick Warren or the Pope or ____________.  We are all flawed Rom 3:23.  We all need Jesus, Rom 8:1.  Rom 10: 9-10.  That's a fact Jack!Okay versed ones, when you read the Bible.  Who is out of line?  Who rises up?  I tell you all the time.  Think of the least likely in your group.  That could be your Paul or Mary Magdalene.  I truly believe Adam could be a Paul (Saul to Paul).  It's interesting to see him shift to Agnostic.  What does Jesus say about a mustard seed fo faith?  Check Matt 17: 20-21As for that clip, that is Matt 5:16.  Neil is shining Light big time and Adam is letting him.  As for the environment, avid listener knows my comments.  God created this earth.  If you believe in God, we best take care of this earth.  No debate.  Yet keep God our God.  Jesus Christ as our saviour.  The Holy Spirit as our guide.  I hear and see what Adam is saying.  Many make movements their religion.  Ending on a prayer note...

Yes!  You are in!  I love mic drops.  And I love sharing some of the best ones.  This one goes out to anyone striving to make marriage work.  Here you go...Thank you Pastor Rick Warren.  If one of the best selling authors and pastor of over 40 years can say that, then all of you will have marriage issues at some point.  As I've said probably too many times, if you haven't had marriage issues you haven't been married long enough.  It's just a matter of time before the storms arrive.  What's missing in too many relationships today is commitment.  It's the key difference between those living together and those that took an oath in front of God and perhaps family and friends.  Even those that do a formal wedding with oaths of commitment seems to let it fade after 7 years or so.  If so inspired, and you are looking for more dirt, you can catch my whole audio book, "Myth of a Perfect Marriage" published in the Summer of 2020.  Simply dig back into this podcast to find it.  Challenging questions at the end of each chapter for you and your spouse and hopefully couples group.  If you don't have a couples group, it's time.  You are kidding yourself going through these challenges alone.  It helps to have other couples to help hold you both accountable.  Find the Christian Church nearest you that has a dedicated married couples small group program.  Work!  You see that's one of the key challenges for most couples.  Work?!  Yes, work.  Too many of fall into the lie that your soul mate is out there and this must not be it because you have issues.  Fatal flaw.  The soul mate myth.  Covered this before, let's cover it again.  For those that watch 90 Day Fiance, for the record, I'm not a fan but my wife is...shhhhhhh.  Part of the draw is the excitement of new romance.  Most of you get that.  Here's the challenge, new romance becomes old romance.  Soul mate becomes pain in the ass.  Then those two are going to have to make a choice.  Are we going to work at this?  Baby?  Most don't and that's why over 50% of you are divorced or will be divorced.  Somebody was Lazy.  No commitment.  Somebody stopped trying.  Somebody stopped choosing 'Commitment'.In conclusion, to the previous episode and Beach Reflections.  Don't stop dating your spouse.  Don't stop trying and trust me and Pastor Rick, there will be times you want to stop trying.  It happens to all of us...at least those with the courage to confess it.  And if you think you are all high and mighty and never got angry or thought about quitting, give it time, you will be challenged.  How do I know that?  Rom 3:23.  Avid listener knew I had to work that in.  We are all flawed.  Even when you put to people together that are so in love...they are still two flawed people.  In time, flaws, create friction.  And just because you have flaws doesn't mean you get to stop trying, well you can stop and watch another relationship burn to the ground.  Or you can choose to love and work on your flaws such as addiction or finances or _____________.Oh lastly, if you would like to hear more of that listen and series, that is one of my favorite teachers, Pastor Rick Warren of Daily Hope.  That one is entitled "How to Connect with People - Part 3", published on the 22nd of August, 2023.Now go, honor your commitments, be a person of integrity, honor your God by honoring your oath to your spouse that you made in front of Him.  Much love, keep going, let commitment be part of your legacy.

Are we in the End Times? Will there be an American revival? What about women pastoring churches? Ask Pastor Jim PutmanThe Podcast Family had a lot of questions for my friend and Pastor, Jim Putuman, Senior Pastor of Real Life Ministries. Understandably, many of the questions were about the End Times. “There are a lot of things happening that do make me believe we are [living in the end times]”, Jim began, and then went into detail about what he observes, especially in America. But, he also reminded us it's not all bad news: record numbers of people are coming to Jesus in Communist China! Even the CCP cannot stop The Truth. There is an organized effort led by influential leaders like Pastor Rick Warren to force evangelical groups like the Southern Baptist convention to allow women to be pastors and to lead churches. “I think you would be stupid as a church leader to make decisions that affect women and children without having women as wise counsel.”, Jim said; he also quoted exactly what the Bible explains about women leading churches. While men and women are equal in the eyes of God, they are also different and uniquely gifted and Jim Putman discussed what churches risk when they stray from God's directives for respecting His plan for family and society. Importantly, Jim also talked about what kind of leaders men must be to align with God's plan and it starts with remembering we report to one ultimate leader, Jesus Christ and we must follow His leadership method best defined as a sacrificial, others-centered, service leader role. What does God's Word say? Matthew 24 The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End TimesMatthew 20:16“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”Episode 942 Links:Books by Jim Putman 4Patriots https://4patriots.com Protect your family with Food kits, solar generators and more at 4Patriots. But he still stood up in front of 13,000 Southern Baptists gathered in New Orleans to make his case. For messengers at the SBC annual meeting, employing women pastors was not an agree-to-disagree issue. A vast majority—88 percent—voted to uphold the decision made back in February to disfellowship Saddleback. The vote concludes two years of scrutiny and criticism toward the California megachurch for ordaining female pastors from its stage, welcoming a female teaching pastor to preach on Sundays, and naming a female campus pastor. This was the only chance to appeal. After the vote, Warren said he wasn’t counting the appeal to succeed. Instead, “I wanted to push the conversation that’s been stagnant for years.” “I wanted to speak up for millions of Southern Baptist women … I believe their spiritual gifts, their leadership gifts and talents, are being wasted,” said Warren, who considered himself well-positioned to make the case given his prominence, “tender heart, and thick skin.” But the messengers were largely unified against the appeal. As Warren offered up arguments for Saddleback, Southern Baptists online and at events ahead of the meeting countered with their own defense of the SBC’s historic stance and their own complementarian convictions. The messengers also voted to uphold decisions to disfellowship Fern Creek Baptist, another church removed for having a female pastor, and Freedom Church, which was found to have mishandled abuse allegations. At the direction of SBC president Bart Barber, the messengers were largely silent as the results of the appeals were announced on Wednesday morning. A small smattering of applause broke out from the back of the giant hall when the Saddleback results were read. This year was the first time Southern Baptists have removed churches over female pastors, declaring Saddleback and four others “no longer in friendly cooperation” with the convention. https://notthebee.com/article/paul-ryan-calls-on-gop-to-stop-focusing-on-the-culture-war-calling-it-polarizing Paul Ryan calls on GOP to stop focusing on the culture war, calling it "polarizing." Shannon Phillips, who is white, received $25 million in punitive damages and $600,000 in compensatory damages. She is reportedly seeking further compensation for lost wages. Phillips was terminated in 2018 in response to backlash against Starbucks after two black men, Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson, were arrested while waiting for a business associate at one of the many Philadelphia locations she oversaw. Employees at the Center City Philadelphia cafe called the police on the pair after they asked to use the washroom but hadn't ordered anything. Phillips claimed in her 2020 lawsuit that her firing had been racially motivated. She said she was targeted despite not having had any direct influence on the decision to call the police. Her allegations were backed up by the testimony of Paul Sykes, the black supervisor of the employee who made the 911 call that day. Sykes argued that the fact he did not face any disciplinary action while Phillips was let go showed that Starbucks had acted in a manor that exhibited racial bias. The coffee giant tried to claim that Phillips had been fired for being an ineffective regional manager, but they failed to convince even a single member of the jury. The Starbucks employee in 2018 had called 911 claiming Nelson and Robinson were "trespassing" after they violated company policy by asking to use the washroom, which they said was only for paying customers. Cops showed up, and hauled the pair out of the cafe as onlookers recorded the interaction on their phones. The men were released from custody hours later after the district attorney found that they hadn't committed any crimes. The incident sparked backlash against Starbucks, and Phillips alleged that she had been used as a scapegoat by the company to show that they were not racist. Nonetheless, protests persisted, and Starbucks eventually shut down hundreds of locations across the country for one day so that staff could undergo racial bias training. Nelson and Robinson settled with Starbucks for an undisclosed amount. The Nuggets edged out the Heat, 94-89, in Denver, overcoming dreadful shooting and a late flurry from Miami’s Jimmy Butler. Center Nikola Jokic, had 28 points and 16 rebounds for the Nuggets, who missed 20 of their first 22 3-point attempts and seven of their first 13 free throws but figured out how to close out the series on their home floor. Jokic, who finished as the runner-up to Joel Embiid in the MVP race, was named to the All-NBA Second Team. He nearly averaged a triple-double over the season with 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game over the 69 games he played. Butler scored eight straight points to help the Heat take an 87-86 lead with 2:45 left after trailing by seven. He made two more free throws with 1:58 remaining to help Miami regain a one-point lead. Then, Bruce Brown got an offensive rebound and tip-in to give the Nuggets the lead for good. Butler finished with 21 points for the Heat. The Nuggets finished the regular season with 53 wins and 29 losses, the best record in the Western Conference and fourth-best overall for the NBA. They were one of 11 teams to have never won a championship. This is the first NBA championship for the Nuggets, who joined the league from the American Basketball Association in 1976 along with the New York (now Brooklyn) Nets, Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs.

Final Thoughts: A reminder that this is the last week you can give to MinistryWatch and receive a copy of the book “Handling Allegations in a Ministry” by Theresa Lynn Sidebotham.  This is a valuable resource for pastors, elders, deacons, ministry leaders, and active and involved church members and ministry donors.  It's our thank you gift for a donation of any size to MinistryWatch this month.  Just go to the MinistryWatch website and hit the donate button at the top of the page. The producers for today's program are Rich Roszel and Jeff McIntosh.  We get database and other technical support from Stephen DuBarry, Emily Kern, Rod Pitzer, and Casey Sudduth. Writers who contributed to today's program include Steve Rabey, Jessica Eturralde, Bob Smietana, Dale Chamberlain, Adelle Banks, and Kim Roberts. Four years ago, Larry Ross asked his grown son, Harrison, for forgiveness. As a result, Harrison Ross began his own journey toward healing. In Part 2 of this courageous conversation, Larry and Harrison explore how fathers can experience redemption, discover their true identity, and model life to their kids.   Full SHOW NOTES for Today's Conversation   Key Takeaways   When you lay your hurt and burdens at the feet of your Heavenly Father, you create a ripple effect of courage for your children to do the same.  The sin of passivity can be more destructive to your family than many other sins.  Your words have a lasting impact, so speak truth over your children intentionally.  Anyone can do your job, but you are the only one who can be a husband to your wife and a father to your kids.   Larry Ross & Harrison Ross   Larry Ross is the Founder and CEO of A. Larry Ross Communications (ALRC). He has more than 45 years of PR experience representing over 2,000 clients, including evangelist Billy Graham, Pastor Rick Warren, Bishop T.D. Jakes, and more. Larry has been married to his wife, Autumn, for 38 years.    Harrison Ross is the oldest of Larry's three sons. He is a graduate of Baylor University and former pastor in the DFW area. Harrison and his wife, Hunter, have four young children and live in Rockwall, Tx. Harrison and his family love spending time together making memories and loving their neighbors.   Key Quotes   8:27 - "As I recollected and was thinking through that memory was so sweet to watch Jesus wearing my dad's coat. Bearing this weight that I had borne for so long. Wearing that with me, bearing my burdens. And and through that moment, just giving me freedom to lay that at his feet and to not just feel like I have to wear my dad's clothes, but now to be clothed in the goodness and grace of my heavenly Father, clothed in his humility and righteousness, and to walk in his ways. And so it's just been really sweet to watch the Lord redeem those moments and bring us closer together." 12:17 - "There was a sin of passivity in both sides of our family. And it's sin. It is the sin of the garden. And it's it is more destructive than some of those explicit things because it's a sin of the heart. And I've watched I've watched those chains not only break in my dad, but in my own life. And I think then that will have resounding impact, exponential impact on our family."   Links From Today's Conversation   Larry Ross' Website    Connect with dadAWESOME   Learn about our FATHERS FOR THE FATHERLESS events in 2023: https://f4f.bike/ Follow @dadawesome on Instagram Make a Donation to dadAWESOME (tax-deductible) Join the dadAWESOME Prayer Team Receive weekly encouragement by texting "dad" to 651-370-8618

Few fathers are brave enough to ask their grown children for forgiveness. But that's precisely the conversation Larry Ross had with his son, Harrison. Now, the two men provide a powerful dual perspective about the impact of a father's choices and how those decisions influence generations to come.   Full SHOW NOTES for today's conversation   Key Takeaways   In some respects, grandchildren give us the opportunity for a do-over.  Many men resolve not to do what their fathers did. But we also need to resolve to do the things our fathers didn't do.  The role of a father is to encourage, which literally means to fill our children with courage. Pray intentionally for your children's friends and for the people who will lead your children to Christ. As fathers, we have to own our mistakes. Harrison and his wife, Hunter, have four young children and live in Rockwall, Tx. Harrison and his family love spending time together making memories and loving their neighbors.    Key Quotes   16:53 - "There are a lot of guys who resolve early on, I'm not going to do what my dad did and I'm not going to be that guy. I think very few men resolve to say the opposite and say, I'm going to do what my dad didn't. And that's what I watched you do growing up and that you did for me, even amidst your own pain in pathology and figuring out your own demons and hurt that you had, you determined to say, I never heard I love you or I'm proud of you, so every time I can, I'm going to tell my kids, I love you and I'm proud of you." 21:07 - "Learning from my dad, both my parents, they just were encouragers and cheerleaders. It was never, Hey, you need to fit this box, you need to do this thing, this is the person you're going to be, grow into it. It's a, How can we give you opportunities to explore who it is that God would have you be? You are His masterpiece made in His image for good works that He's prepared beforehand to walk in them. So it's more like archeology to uncover and discover who He's made me to be, so that I can then, with my kids, help them discover."   Links From Today's Conversation   Full Transcript of the Conversation  Larry Ross' Website    Connect with dadAWESOME   Learn about our FATHERS FOR THE FATHERLESS events in 2023: https://f4f.bike/ Follow @dadawesome on Instagram Make a Donation to dadAWESOME (tax-deductible) Join the dadAWESOME Prayer Team Receive weekly encouragement by texting "dad" to 651-370-8618
