On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett welcomes his regular Thursday guests, Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, Brad Adam from ROOT Sports and his new feature, Mitchy “The Kid”, Mitch Levy from the “Mitch Unfiltered” podcast, which is only available in the live show, but if you missed it you can find it on Puck's Posse Patreon page. Sign up and join today at PuckSports.com. Puck starts off the show discussing the Mariners disaster of a home stand in which they struck out 66 times on their way to a 1-5 record.  Panic is starting to set in for some Mariners fans who think this is the beginning of the end for the team. Puck tries to squash the panic but acknowledges the angst. Mike Garafolo, NFL Network stops by to discuss the release of the NFL schedule and will the Colts get reprimanded for making light of Tyreke's Hill arrest.  The prime time schedule on Christmas and Thanksgiving is terrific and might be the best lineup they have ever had. Mike also pivots for a minute and shares his love for baseball! Before he departs for San Diego, Brad Adam of ROOT Sports jumps on to discuss the 1-5 home stand and who do we blame?  Puck sarcastically blames one person in particular.  Is the offense about to regress?   Bryce Miller is headed to the IL, but help is on the way with George Kirby and Logan Gilbert.  Does Brad agree not going to Andres Munoz in Wednesday's game to face Aaron Judge?  Puck argues they should have walked Judge and taken their chances with Cody Bellinger.  Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?”  The Cougars make a splash with a new media partner (1:00) Puck on the Mariners and their recent struggles (23:38) Mike Garafolo, NFL Network (48:24) Brad Adam, ROOT Sports (1:21:22) “Hey, What the Puck!?”

RUNDOWN   The Seattle Seahawks' performance in their season opener was not a huge confidence booster. But their throwback uniforms a huge success. Mitch shares thoughts on the upcoming Apple Cup, which will be played earlier than usual in September at Lumen Field, questioning Washington's chances against Washington State. The Mariners' slim playoff hopes, are they still in it? The Seahawks' first game of the season ended with a 26-20 victory over the Denver Broncos, a performance characterized by a strong defense but struggles on the offensive line. Seahawks' No-Table discuss key moments, including a crucial third-down conversion by Tyler Lockett and standout defensive plays, like Tariq Woolen's interception. Concerns were raised about the offensive line, exacerbated by injuries, including the loss of George Fant. Mitch and CBS college football analyst Rick Neuheisel discuss college football highlights, Neuheisel's predictions, and recent games. Neuheisel celebrates his correct prediction of Texas's strong performance, while admitting Notre Dame still has work to do despite his playoff hopes for them. He highlights elite teams like Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss, and points to Alabama and Tennessee as potential contenders despite issues. Neuheisel criticizes Deion Sanders' media behavior and questions Colorado's long-term future under his leadership. He praises teams like Nebraska for improvement, and notes Alabama's penalties may have obscured their offensive capabilities. Neuheisel predicts LSU will cover the spread against South Carolina, maintaining his winning streak on Mitch Unfiltered. The Seattle Mariners have won four of their last six games, staying competitive in both the AL West and the wild card race. Mariners' No-Table discuss the team's improved performance, highlighted by better offensive stats, including 38 runs over five games. Despite this, they remain five or six games behind Houston and face challenges with tough schedules ahead. The Other Stuff Segment topics include Angel Reese's WNBA Rookie Season, Dak Prescott's four-year, $240 million contract extension, RIPs, and Headlines.   GUESTS   • Seahawks No-Table | Brady Henderson (ESPN Seahawks Insider) • Rick Neuheisel | CBS College Analyst • Mariners No-Table | Joe Doyle (Over Slot) & Brady Farkas (Sports Illustrated Now M's Editor)   TABLE OF CONTENTS   0:19 | Father-Daughter Camping, is it ever too late? 7:31 | Mitch announces; BEAT THE BOYS **password** 10:17 | "Fun with Audio," A week ago in Richard Neuheisel's segment, predicting Notre Dame... 16:50 | Eastside Catholic banter, let's go! 32:18 | GUEST: Seahawks No-Table: Brady Henderson (ESPN Seahawks Insider) and Mitch rehash Seattle's opening game victory over the Broncos. RUNDOWN   Episode 292 of "Mitch Unfiltered" takes a humorous dive into a recent high school graduation incident involving Mitch's son and a $125 dare. Gettin' giddy about baseball, at the time of this recording, the Mariners boast a record of 43-31, placing them eight and a half games ahead of the Texas Rangers in the American League West. The episode takes a poignant turn to commemorate the legendary Jerry West, who recently passed away. West's monumental contributions to basketball, both as a player and an executive, are thoroughly discussed. Mariners' No-Table; Mitch, Joe, and Jason Churchill, delve into the Seattle Mariners' impressive performance, having won seven of their last eight games, extending their lead to 8.5 games over the Texas Rangers and 9 games over the Houston Astros. The guys talk about individual performances, particularly noting Logan Gilbert and George Kirby's standout games, and the ongoing robustness of Julio Rodriguez despite earlier struggles. Mitch welcomes back Bob Harig of Sports Illustrated to dissect the 2024 U.S. Open held at Pinehurst No. 2. They dive into the dramatic finale where Bryson DeChambeau clinched a compelling victory amidst the ongoing PGA and LIV Golf drama, all while the devastation experienced by Rory McIlroy was felt deeply by fans.
