Isabel coaches L.L. Madrid about what to do when you feel yourself freezing up when you sit down to write. This is a common response for many authors who achieve a new level of success in their career (such as finally selling a debut or writing the follow-up to a surprise hit). L.L.'s debut, My Lips, Her Voice comes out Fall 2025. You can learn more on her website here. *** The publishing industry is hard. That's why I created The Confident Author Academy. My 6-month, private coaching program (+ online course) helps you build the mental & emotional skills you need to thrive as an author. To learn more, schedule a free consult with me by clicking here. Intimacy coach Lee Noto didn't realize she'd been longing for surrender until a crush turned into far more. Author Liz Asch fell away from her queer expression, then gradually reclaimed it. And that growth led to more than squirting. I really miss riding on  the train, and often think about Japan, London, and France — the subway systems that I've ridden outside of the U.S. I got my DJ name from an a beautiful moment I spent with my father, who passed on his love of train rides to me. So this month's mix leaves the station in the deep house area with Andrius Zamba's "London Underground" (London's subway system, also known as "The Tube"), which I have ridden. From here, it's a smooth ride until we get past the 7th track, "My Lips" by Crazibiza, and onto "Sunglasses" by 2Lovers where everything picks up a bit. We even enter Tech House territory before ending up in the land of Techno, with Ramon Tapia's "Bang The Box". Let me know what you think!

This is our last new episode of 2021 and we're going out with a BANG! In our first erotica we spoke to author Liz Asch about her new collection of mostly queer erotica short stories in Your Salt On My Lips.   Liz is an artist, an author, and an acupuncturist and we had such a great conversation with her.  You don't want to miss this one!Playful, explorative, taboo-smashing, and delectably liberating, Your Salt on My Lips is a mostly-queer collection of literary erotica that will leave you stimulated, satisfied, and yearning for more. At times amorous and passionate, uninhibited and unrequited, there is something for every kink and orientation. From coquettishness to masturbation, daydreaming to boundary breaking, this collection is replete with orgies, personal discoveries, anachronous adventures, and hallucinatory spins exploring love, lust, and play across the spectrum of sexuality. As both an artist and author, Asch ascends beyond everyday erotica, dancing from prurient to poetic in thirty-five scintillating shorts that will stimulate so much more than just your sex drive.https://lizasch.com

Party Favorz is back with our first Disco House set of 2021 and this one is packed with familiar riffs and samples that are bound to have you asking "where is that beat from?" Frankly, there are so many samples tightly woven in these tracks (often more than one used in a single song) that it's hard to keep up. There are obvious ones like "When Love Is Over," which samples "Holding On (When Love Is Over}" by L.T.D. "I Wanna Feel" is a clear lift of "He's the Greatest Dancer" by the Nile Rogers produced Sister Sledge while "The Groove Cycle" could by any song by Roger's own disco band Chic with its familiar guitar work. DJ Mark Brickman's "Got Myself Together" is a reworking of the Brass Construction classic "Movin" from 1976. Then you have the obvious remakes such as the 90's Adeva house classic "In & Out Of My Life," Soul Avengerz and Krysten Cummings re-work the Aretha Franklin classic "R-E-S-P-E-CT" and Block & Crown remake the Al Green soul classic "Let's Stay Together" with Jeff Roberts performing the vocal duties. The latter begs the question as to why no one has reworked the Tina Turner version of this song. It's practically begging for a soulful house rework. Another obvious rework here is the Gino Soccio #1 disco classic "Dancer" by DJ Mark Brickman and Venessa Jackson. Then you have the combos like Crazibiza's "My Lips," which mashes "Don't Call Me Baby" by Madison Avenue with Aretha Franklin and C + C Music Factory gay anthem "Pride (A Deeper Love)" an unlikely pairing that just works. Block & Crown gets in on this game by mashing "Pump Up the Jam" by Technotronic featuring Felly with "Stomp" by Brothers Johnson.. Indeed, there are so many samples contained here some are barely recognizable while others don't bother hiding their appreciation for the originals. It does prove that today's DJs are not just appropriating long lost works (some of these samples are really rare) but honoring all those that came before. It also shows that mom and dad's (in many cases grandma's) music was actually pretty damn good. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Jason Walker has honored us with two fantastic new songs "All To You," which has fabulous remixes by the legendary David Morales and Georgia Porgie as well as "Stronger" with DJ extraordinaire Quentin Harris that has two sets of remixes accompanying its release. These songs are some of Jason's strongest work and I'm happy to see that he's continuing to gift us with his amazing voice. I'll let y'all figure out the rest of the sampling contained within this set or instead of racking your brain — just sit back, get down to the funky sound and ENJOY! Wolves at the Gate is band that very much continues the tradition and follows in the sonic footsteps of Solid State Records and the era of Underoath, Beloved, Dead Poetic, and As Cities Burn; none of whom are currently making this particular style of music. The approach is being deep, heavy, brutal singing and screaming with a strong spiritual component that gives weight to the music. Steve Cobucci is the guitarist, writer, singer, and lyricist for the band along with screamer Ben Summers. Steve is a terrific musician and person whose ministry-driven approach to his art makes him fit nicely in the Tooth & Nail/Solid State world.   https://labeledpodcast.com/ Support Labeled on Patreon   Join Labeled on Facebook   SONGS YOU HEARD ON THIS EPISODE: The Blood Brothers "Cecilia and the Silhouette Saloon" mewithoutYou "January 1979" Dead Poetic "New Medicines" As Cities Burn "Thus from My Lips, By Yours, My Sin is Purged" Wolves at the Gate "A Voice in the Violence" Wolves at the Gate "Evil are the Kings" Wolves at the Gate "Eclipse"   MORE FROM TOOTH & NAIL: * Labeled: Music From The Podcast: smarturl.it/labeledplaylist * DISCOVER IT: New Tracks from T&N Records: smarturl.it/TNNDiscover * This Is Solid State: New Tracks from Solid State Records: https://spoti.fi/2CUCsaH    * Tooth & Nail Store (LABELED Patreon members get 20% off everything): tnn.lnk.to/store

Hi Friends and welcome to my latest release for February. The mix starts of rather chilled but soon builds up to my normal funky sound!! Highlights include a very trippy funked out number by Banana Groovz called Get High, soon to be released on Dirty Monkey Recordings. Look out for the remake of My Lips by Crazibiza, which has been number 1 in the beatport charts recently with the sample taken from the original 94 hit by Alex Party! Funny that was my first track I ever purchased on vinyl when I started mixing many moons ago (lol)!! Lastly check out another great release from Koe called Rock the Night Away, a real funky retake, and you can find this on the new Indo Silver Record’s label. Enjoy the mix and your feedback is very welcome!! Have a great Feb Everyone!!
