"Princess Mononoke" is Hayao Miyazaki's masterpiece. It's an adventure film that's filled with vibrant colors and deep morals and they're all tied to how we humans treat our environment and it doesn't look good. It's tough to make a feel look beautiful even in it's darkest pastures and still have an effective story about our roles in this Earth. I dig the film for it's cinematography, the use of CGI and hand-drawn animation. It's kind of hard to think that it is hand-drawn. There are some scenes that make you wonder how they did the scene period without much a fuss but I'm sure there were. The characters are great and can easily like, even the antagonist characters. You can actually get behind these character's motivations, no matter how bright or dark. There is a sense to it, either you go with the light or the dark. We can understand why we would hate our own spieces because it seems we do more destroying than giving and growing. Yes, we grow as a society, but at what cost? That's the whole thing about the film. It's fun to look at, you see more than just drama but there is slight romance that Studio Ghibli don't choose to overdue but overall we do see compassion out of this film. Miyazaki Loves humans enough to draw about and point out our crap. Genius.Four out of four tokes.#princessmononoke #hayaomiyazaki #studioghibli

Min 5: TROLLS 3: TODOS JUNTOS La tercera entrega de esta colorista apuesta animada para todos los públicos huele a éxito asegurado y va a ser sin duda la película familiar del fin de semana y de todo el puente festivo. Raquel Hernández nos cuenta por qué esta tercera entrega vuelve a hacer buena la fórmula de dar a los más pequeños lo que necesitan sin descuidar a los adultos que les van a llevar a la salas. La apuesta por la buena música vuelve a ser una de las claves de su buen resultado. Min 8: UN “COMBO-THRILLER” DESIGUAL La gran amenaza que tendrán los Trolls en pantalla tiene a la apuesta por el thriller como nexo. Ben Afleck, Liam Neeson y Michael Fassbender son los adalides de una oferta muy desigual que va a tener que sufrir los mandobles de nuestros especialistas. “Hipnotyc” (Afleck) y “Retribution” (Neeson) se quedan lejos del resultado esperado pese a su sugerente punto de partida y es “El asesino” (Fassbender) la que da en la tecla gracias al pulso narrativo de un veterano del género como David Fincher (“Seven”, “EL club de la lucha”) Min 18: LA CONTADORA DE PELÍCULAS Pero además de animación y de persecuciones tenemos títulos alternativos que se convierten en un bonito homenaje al cine. Es el caso de “La contadora de películas”, una ambiciosa coproducción entre España, Chile y Francia, tiene a grandes talentos en su guión y a Antonio de la Torre como gran y sorprendente reclamo interpretativo. Pero la sorpresa de nuestro análisis tiene que ver con la efervescente actriz chilena Sara Becker, a la que hemos tenido cara a cara gracias al preestreno de la película en el marco del Festival del Cine y la Palabra de Toledo (Cibra). La joven que encarna a “La contadora de historias” nos resume por qué es un canto de amor al cine que merece la pena disfrutar en salas. Es el último trabajo del talentoso cineasta japonés Hayazo Miyazaki, que sin llegar a las cotas de maestría de sus trabajos más aclamados (“El viaje de Chihiro”, “La princesa Mononoke) ofrece un producto a la altura del sello Ghibli y por lo tanto en una recomendación obligatoria para los amantes de este género. Min 34: BSO LOS ASESINOS DE LA LUNA El público, la crítica y las cifras confirman que “Los asesinos de la Luna” ha supuesto el regreso del mejor Scorsese del siglo XXI. Another witness, named Sarah, contradicted the affidavit's claims, stating the man she saw didn't resemble Allen.    Motta emphasized the gravity of these inconsistencies, "So what they're alleging is that Tony Liggett just flat out lied about 2 of these statements." If proven true during the upcoming Frank's hearing, the implications could be monumental. Ghibli Fest 2023, a yearly re-screening of Studio Ghibli films, may have kicked off back in March but it's upcoming re-release has historical significance. That being the 1997 film “Princess Mononoke,” a film that was renowned filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki's first, global box office hit, making close $200 million. It's domestic and global success at the time was unmatched… up until the 2001 film “Spirited Away.” Fans revisiting these features comes at a time where Miyazaki reaches the next chapter in his storytelling, with his final film “The Boy and the Heron” having released in Japan in July. No official release date globally has been announced, but North America will be blessed with a screening as the Toronto International Film Festival opens its festivities with Miyazaki's last film as a director. Today on AirTalk, we talk about Studio Ghibli's growth in the global box office, Hayao Miyazaki's role in that, and the legendary filmmaker's legacy.
