Welcome to the Runner's Round Table podcast. Season 4 is “Conversations with Runners”, and each episode features a conversation with an inspiring female runner who is making the running community better in her own way. In this episode, Stephanie talks to Nikki Love about what it means to be an “Adventure Runner”, her 2023 adventure of running across Australia, and the importance of embracing a “You are the expert on You” mindset. Enjoy this episode and thanks for listening. To watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/KlSCPYm92gk About Stephanie: Stephanie is an RRCA (Road Runner's Club of America) and McMillan Running certified running coach with over 10 years of running experience. Her favorite running distance is the half marathon (13.1 miles/21 kilometers). www.instagram.com/thecookierunner/ www.thecookierunner.net About Nikki: Nikki Love is an adventure runner and a motivator of dreaming big, taking action and achieving extraordinary goals. Nikki turned 50 in 2017 and decided it was time to take her love for travel, marathon running, and cross-countr running to a new level. She is now on a mission to run across, around, or through as many countries that her feet can take her, bringing as many people as she can along for the run. Her big adventures include running 63 marathons in 63 days through the UK, a craic of a 750 mile run around Ireland, a runcation through Malta and around Gozo, a jolly jaunt across the Netherlands, an extremely muddy and cow-pat laden run from top to bottom of Wales. Most recently, on July 16, 2023 at the age of 56 Nikki set the women's record for running across Australia from Perth to Sydney 4,044kms in 76 days, 3 hours and 43 minutes. Driven by her curiosity to answer the question “I wonder if I can do that…” Nikki shares her adventures – the highs, lows, fun, tears and her experience of overcoming fears, doubts and obstacles as she navigates perimenopause – through her writing, speaking and film-making. Her goal is to help women know and own their place and space in the world and to keep believing and backing themselves. www.instagram.com/nikkiloveruns www.nikkilove.co.uk/ --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/runnersroundtable/support

Meet Nikki Love - she's about to run across Australia! She talks to me about her incredible determination, what drives her to run, challenges she faces running through her 50s, and how she keeps that mindset to "chase extraordinary" and prove that she can get the job done. Running 65 consecutive marathons across Oz, she's taking on the Guinness World Record attempt to cover a distance of around 4,000kms from Perth to Sydney. If she does, she'll be the fastest female to cross Australia on foot! Find out more at https://www.nikkilove.co.uk/runaustralia

It's the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the bottom of the barrel if you will... Wait, that doesn't seem right. Or does it??? First up is one of our favourite guests of 2021 Mr Heath Franklin here to talk about why it's more of a payout for you if you chop off your fingers than if you chop off a certain male appendage. Plus, why Harley's 11 year old wants a busking license and how Nikki first discovered her love for riding a bike. And finally how Richard Branson, the every man, finally made it to space! Enjoy! My guest today is Nikki Love @nikkiloveruns - according to her website she is here to do her best, be her best, have a blast along the way and bring as many people as she can along for the ride. Put simply she is Chasing Extraordinary! Nikki's message is simple - it's never too late, you're never too old and you are capable of much more than you ever thought possible. In this awesome chat, Nikki talks through her own journey of self-doubt and discovery and how she unlocked her superpowers. This is a must-listen, perfectly timed as we reflect back on the last 12 months and how we want to take on 2022!Nikki talks about how experiencing highs and lows, running for fun and pushing herself to the brink brought back her confidence, her daring, her passion and her purpose.
Another of my campfire chats at the Armchair Adventure Festival (@ArmchairAdventureFest) last month in Cornwall. This chat was with the lovely, inspiring and awesome Nikki Love (@nikkiloveruns) and we chat about her turning 50 being the catalyst for big challenges, silencing your critics and writing an inspiring book for young people!
In this episode, I speak to Nikki Love, runner, adventurer and menopause goddess. I love talking to women who speak frankly about their bodies and their experiences of the weirdnesses being female can throw at us, and Nikki does all of that and then some. We pile straight into the menopause, as Nikki's experience is pretty grim listening, but also incredibly inspiring for those of us staring menopause in the face. She talks about the stuff that she had to push for with her GP, as traditional HRT wasn't working for her, and she also talks about the link between nutrition and menopause, which is fascinating. Now you might be wondering what all this has to do with running – and the thing here is that Nikki isn't just your average plodder. When she runs, she really runs. She pretty much went from couch to 63 marathons in 63 days, and since that epic adventure, she has just tried to find more ways to push herself to the limits of her endurance. Those limits were tested earlier this year when she attempted 100 marathons in 100 days and ended up with a gruesome injury as a result. But, as optimistic as ever, Nikki picked herself up and adjusted her training to suit. She talks to me about how she found out she was good at all this endurance stuff, how she's being kinder to herself these days -and certainly pragmatic, and the adventures she has up her sleeve. She's just a superwoman. This episode is sponsored by Marcy, winners in the Best Strength Category for their Inspire FTX Trainer in this year's Women's Running Product Awards. It comes with two independent pulley systems, quick adjust sliders and 30 positions, giving you the freedom of doing practically any exercise you want. At birth, Nikki's parents were basically told by doctors that because of her family history, they should be watchful of her health. She immediately as a baby could not tolerate dairy and always had stomach issues. And as she got older, it was apparent that she would inherit the same UC issues her family had. For years Nikki struggled with painful UC and always said that she would never ever have a bag. She would rather die than have one. But it wasn't until after surgery where for the first time she could eat WITHOUT any pain that she knew that this Ostomy saved her life. She got her life back and was able to finally live a pain-free life without restrictions! Nikki knew that she wouldn't be here today to talk about her struggles and her journey if she had not gotten that surgery. Now she is a confident woman who is not worried at all about what others think about her bag because she is NOW living her best life and loving every minute of it.
In this episode, we are talking to the incredible ultra runner Nikki Love as she embarks on her mammoth task of 100 marathons in 100 consecutive days. Support this Podcast Scroll down for links Today we are celebrating Nikki Love and her new book. “With a little touch of crazy: 63 Marathons in 63 days Adventure.” Nikki was a guest on the podcast in March 2019. At the time we were celebrating the launch of her first book “Chasing Extraordinary” and today we celebrate the launch of the second book; With a little touch of crazy: 63 Marathons in 63 days AdventureBack in 2019, Nikki was preparing another adventure to run across her native Australia. Alas, what with COVID that plan went on hold. However not to be daunted, she looked to run the distance on a treadmill in the garden, here in the UK. With a Little Dash of Crazy:The 63 Marathons in 63 Days Adventure That adventure was going fine however after 42 days and 1040 miles on a treadmill, she snapped a tendon in her foot and the running was over for a while. But she put the time to good use and the second book is out and released this week. I suspect many people will agree that you need a little touch of crazy to run these distances. It takes a special mindset that is for sure. Check out the original podcast and judge for yourself. Better still buy the book. Nikki Love & A Little Dash of Crazy Nikki is an amazing woman who is spreading the word about exercise. Taking the message into schools all over the country. She is leading the charge to helping people understand the benefit of getting active and just get moving. The key to her success is not too run fast. We were speaking on zoom, so I could see how windswept she looked. Before our conversation she was out running with a local school and then out on the hills with a women’s group in the sleet and rain. There is no stopping her. It was a great conversation, about her drive and why she does what she does. We also explored her latest project which is running across Australia that will be 4000 Km in 63 days. We talk about sponsorship and how that project is structured. I hope you enjoy the conversation with Nikki love If you would like to connect with Nikki you can find her on Facebook on at her website Nikkilove.co.uk As with all projects that are driven by passion and enthusiasm, this event grew out an internal inquiry… Why do my Podcast Guests Skirt Around The Spirituality Conversation? …which gets bigger and wider. There is a sense of wonder and synchronicity that comes from the connections and conversations we have. Spirit-duality is a bit like a Spiritual Christmas Hamper full of delicious goodies. When you dive in, you discover a lot of things you’ve never tried before. Some you’ll love, some you won’t, but unless you try them, you will never know. The event is in two sections: 5 days of Inspiring Conversations (that is the diving into the Christmas Hamper bit) and 2 days filled with empowering activities or coaching sessions (the bit where you get to taste all the goodies!) In this episode, I interview Nikki Love, an extraordinary person who lives by three words -- love, fun, and adventure. Listen in as she talks about her adventures and what drives her to take the challenge of breaking the world record running across Australia. Visit https://www.bodyshotperformance.com/topic/podcasts/ for the complete show notes of every podcast episode. Topics Discussed in this Episode: Nikki’s adventures and the life of running Moving to England and building a new life Gearing up for different marathon events The books and the people that became Nikki’s influences What drives Nikki to keep challenging herself Battling insecurities and nagging fears What Nikki does to train mentally How Nikki juggles between being a mother, running a business, and going on adventures Key Takeaways: To make things happen, you have to start working on things to create the life that you want. You don’t always have to listen to other people when they try to talk you out of a challenge. Sometimes you only have to listen to yourself and find your own dreams. If what you can do helps other people, there’s more purpose to it. Working on your mental toughness is essential when preparing for marathons. Action Steps: Give yourself a goal or a target, and then do it. Know your purpose and your bigger WHY. Keep a journal of what you’re going to do, but write them in the past tense. In this way, when you read it, you’re reinforcing to your subconscious that you’ve already done it. Nikki said: “Life throws things at you, and when things are thrown at you, you start thinking, ‘Maybe I can’t do this. Maybe I’m pushing just one step too far.’ But then I have to think again about why it is that I’d want to give it a go in the first place.” “You have to work out what it is that you genuinely want. And if that means that you journal that lifestyle that you want, then eventually you will start making the decisions and the choices to implement the results that you want.” Thanks for listening! Nikki love in 2017 she completed 63 marathons in 63 days. Since then she has run in the desert and run around Ireland. While the 63 in 63, is not an official Guinness record she is still the only women in the world to have done it. What makes anyone want to do these distances, it has to be a drive and passion that is for sure My relationship was never good. Twenty years ago before it was fashionable I had a cousin who used to run a lot. I thought it odd, as my resistance was forged in the terrible memories of cross-country running at school. Awful conditions always cold and wet and some of the nastiness that went with the education of the time. Thankfully that has changed. When I came back to it to exercise in my 50s, I found that I couldn't run it hurt. It was only by going to a physio that I discovered that I had forgotten how to walk properly. I had to learn how to use my knees and ankles again. Fast forward a couple of years I was running 3K on running machines at the gym. It was my brother who suggested we go out for a run one day when I was visiting, and I absolutely loved it, From there It was a quick jump from 3 k to nearly 10k, and I completed my first proper 10K race last September 2018. I enjoy it, and I can understand that passion and drive that people experience. but the idea of taking on these mega distances for me is something else. Nikki is an amazing woman who is spreading the word about exercise. Taking the message into schools and all over the country. She is leading the charge to help people understand the benefit of getting active and just moving. The key to her success is not to run fast We were on zoom, so I could see how windswept she was, as before our conversation she as out running with a local school the out on the hills with a women's group in the sleet and rain. It was a great conversation it's about her Drive why she does what she does. We also explored her latest project which is about running across Australia 4000Km in 63 days. We talk about sponsorship and how that project is structured. Nicky this is an amazing woman I hope you enjoy the conversation with Nikki love https://nikkilove.co.uk/ https://www.facebook.com/nikkijlove https://www.instagram.com/nikkiloveruns/
In a world of chaos and fast-paced everything, Nikki Love-Adkins, along with her business partner/best friend Stephanie offer solace for an hour and twenty minutes at a time in their Sumits Hot Yoga studio. She's a devoted mom, business owner and blissful wife, and somehow makes time to make everyone she encounters feel like they're the most important person in the world. I've gained a LOT from hot yoga, and just as much from this hour spent with a beautiful soul. Enjoy!
This week the ladies are joined by founder of Nu'York West Beauty Supply, Nikki Love. Not a dull moment as usual. Tune In!
