Presne toľko času totiž uplynulo od smrti významného českého kronikára Kosmasa v roku 1125, ktorú si pripomína nielen odborná historická, ale aj široká laická verejnosť v Českej republike. A skutočne, bez Kosmasovej kroniky by sme o raných českých dejinách vedeli podstatne menej. Hoci je, pochopiteľne, táto literárna pamiatka písaná so značným subjektívnym prístupom jej autora, tvorí základ všetkých rozprávaní a siaha až k legendárnym počiatkom, k symbolickému úsvitu českých dejín – k praotcovi Čechovi, k mýtickej kňažnej Libuši a k oráčovi Přemyslovi. Je tiež fascinujúcim rozprávaním o českých kniežatách, od sv.
