Let's be honest about what these coaches lists are.
It's been so exciting to watch the aesthetics industry evolve over the past 12 years. When I started, we didn't have nearly as much technology as we do today. Back in the day when resumes were the only way to promote yourself, it was really frowned upon to exaggerate your value. Today, with social media, that happens all the time. Working with influencers in this space is a big thing, but what if you are the influencer? What even makes providers in our industry influential? There's a spectrum of opinions about whether our industry is justifiably glamorizing the right people, or if big pharma politics are at play. I often hear comments about how the right people aren't being recognized for their brilliance in our industry, as one example. At what point is a comment like this based on legitimacy, and at what point is envy skewing our opinion? I do believe it's a fact that Instagram follower counts and celebrity status weighs heavily on the decisions of who is invited to speak at conferences. On the flip side, influencers believe that authentic influence is cultivated through expression of an independent philosophy. Often, companies come to them to celebrate the influencer's adoption of their products and to learn about how their products are being used. Doesn't it make good business sense for the company to go to an influencer to do this? There really are valid points on both sides. At the end of the day, success is so individual. Being recognized for your work may have nothing to do with popularity. If your goal is to gain exposure, it's wise to take advantage of opportunities that align with your core values. Just don't lose your voice. Book a Strategy Call with Kaeli Join the KLC Consulting Mailing List The Fierce Factor Society on Facebook KLC Consulting Website Kaeli on Instagram Kaeli on LinkedIn

It's A Popularity Contest On This Big Fail Friday
In the week that Ireland is gripped by widespread anti-migrant protests, resident Celt Phil Pilkington explains why the present wave of populist sentiment might no longer be containable by the political elite. As Andrew Collingwood points out, the 1950s migration treaties that still run our world were designed for a post-WW2 world long consigned to history. Yet to national bureaucracies, they're still a fundamental part of the 'rules-based international order'. So will that order finally absorb the change, or will it simply crack first?A new Cambridge study unveils a world where Anglo-Saxon 'soft power' is dimming. In the great global popularity contest, the rising powers are beginning to win the hearts and minds of potential allies in developing countries. But does being liked ever actually matter in geopolitics? As Pilkington points out, popularity tends to follow events - not the other way round. As if to illustrate this, one of America's greatest allies in the Pacific has recently had a change of regime. With China fan President Duterte out, and the US-supporting Bongbong Marcos in, American bases are sprouting again in the Philippines. Yet even as Uncle Sam wins one back, the long-term trade trend with the country still strongly favours China. Who will win this tug of love?

Midterm Elections have concluded and they prove the voting popularity contest is a pointless endeavor that props up a corrupt system of Ne'er-do-wells and self-deluded fools. - Toward Anarchy
Social Media platforms have become a place for one big popularity contest. How many videos can you push through? How much content can you create? Is it GOOD enough? Only to fall victim to an algorithm that not only decides if it will push your information through but it also forces us into "liking, commenting and following" in hopes of seeing that account again....and it forces the account owner to constantly beg for these likes, comments and follows in hopes that their info stays within the feed. It removes all organic communication which is what fb, insta and tik tok continue to say they encourage. I am a huge proponent of why we should not attach our feelings of self worth to a digital algorithm. I discuss this and what we can do to make sure we not only protect ourselves but our children as well. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kristi-bush/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kristi-bush/support
MORE THAN A POPULARITY CONTEST Luke 12:49-56 We have been spending some time in Luke's Gospel the last few weeks. We have learned that popularity is not a measure of success in God's eyes; obedience is. How do you measure popularity? These days most people measure popularity by social media followers and likes. But that's not always an authentic measure. There are companies that will sell large blocks of fake followers to those who want to look more popular than they really are. In the beginning of Luke 12, we read that Jesus' popularity has become so great that he and his disciples were being followed by a crowd of “many thousands” of people. And he didn't have to pay for any of them. The crowd was so boisterous that Jesus and his disciples were in danger of being trampled by them. How does it feel to be a rockstar? The disciples must have felt really good about their decision to follow Jesus, seeing as how his ministry was becoming so influential. Only Jesus understood that they were following him, not to a throne or a new political movement, but to his death on the cross, the death of an outcast. From popularity to shame and suffering and persecution. In a short time, that crowd of many thousands would be lining the streets of Jerusalem and loudly demanding Jesus' death at the hands of the Roman government. So, Luke 12 is basically one long teaching on how to disengage from the world's attractions, from its values, from its popularity contests. Jesus is trying to warn his disciples that they can't count on the crowd's approval for long. He knows he will be leaving them soon, and they will suffer greatly as they try to carry on his mission without him. They will pay a price for following him, so they'd better be prepared for it. But he can also see how the Holy Spirit, his Spirit living in them, will lead them to change the world. Many leaders gauge the success of their ministry on its popularity, on the number of followers they have. Jesus gauged the success of his ministry on his obedience to God. And he warned us that obedience to God will make us unpopular with the world. In Luke 12, he's teaching his disciples, “Don't let your current circumstances blind you, or your current comforts bind you to this world. Saying ‘Yes' to me means saying ‘No' to this world and its comforts and priorities and value systems.” Grace and Peace, Stephen
