“Captain Ajinkya Rahane has held this Mumbai team together.” Rahane's Mumbai teammates rightfully said this throughout the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season. On 14 March 2024, Mumbai clinched the Ranji Trophy for the record-extending 42nd time. Rahane was available for Mumbai for the entire season, barring two games, which he had to sit out due to a niggle. He scored a vital half-century in the second innings of the Ranji final but was woefully out of form otherwise. However, for Rahane, the championship trophy matters the most and not the runs in front of his name. Throughout the campaign, his leadership won the hearts of fans and critics and resourcefully marshalled his troops to end Mumbai's title drought. In this episode of Kattyawarchya Gappa with Amol Karhadkar, Sports Journalist, The Hindu, Ajinkya talks about how domestic cricket has changed since his debut, Mumbai's 2023-24 domestic season and how Mumbai won their 42nd Ranji Trophy title…
The Ranji trophy makes history with the 42nd title winning after 8 years. Big names Rahane, Shaw, Thakur, etc make the team worthy champions. The WPL league stage comes to an end with Delhi topping and qualifying for the finals. Mumbai & RCB to face off in the Eliminator.

A Unicorn may decide to show itself to you as a light, an orb or a diamond in any colour. As unicorns love and respect the horse shape that was chosen for them by Source and the Intergalactic Council, for it represents strength and freedom, so they usually appear as pure white horses, and this is how mystic painters or sculptors usually choose to present them.TO LEARN MORE ABOUT CAROLINE:Facebook, Carolines Angelic Realms Instagram @carolinesangelicrealms
We review the World Test Championship final between Australia and India at The Oval - which ended with a 209-run win and the Test mace for Australia. Another ICC final, another Indian defeat. The stoicism of the Bits and Pieces panel is tested to the limit, but they show up again (unlike India's Test side) for Episode 75, which spans the soap opera that is India selection, Ashwin's omission, Umesh's inclusion, Shardul's protrusion, Kohli-Pujara-Rohit-Gill's enduring irritation, Rahane's resurrection, Head's accumulation, Starc's excretion and the MCC manual's arbitrary catch arbitration. The rain-impacted IPL final saw Gujurat Titans take on CSK with this year's two best teams demonstrating their skill on the biggest stage. The 214 posted by GT was a huge mountain to climb but the rain helped CSK get an adjustment target from 15 overs and they went for it from ball one, even with Noor Ahmed producing a wicked spell the boundaries kept coming. Conway, Rayudu and Rahane led the way, Dube found his feet and Dhoni set himself up for the limelight but the universe showed ego is the enemy with a golden duck before last year's pariah Jadeja keeping calm and carrying his team to their fifth IPL title. In this episode of the podcast we pay homage to the careers of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. Pujara and Rahane may or may not play again for India but they both have been mainstays of the Indian team. It's only fitting we reflect on their respective tenures in the middle given how both men polarized the Indian fandom. Doing the honors are Aftab Khanna and Saahil Sharma as we look back these careers and more. The second phase of this conversation is an extension to some of the main architects of Indian middle order. In a free flowing conversation three fans take stock of Dravid, Laxman, Azhar and Ganguly among other names. They talk about the Ashes; England losing to Australia in the latest match and the downfall of English cricket. We get to know about Silverie's experiences with playing cricket, why Indian states have inner cricket associations and not just state associations, Rahane and Pujara going back to play in the Ranji Trophy, and about Ishan Kishan missing the next few games due to a concussion. We also talk about Ajit Agarkar becoming the bowling coach for Delhi Capitals, Agarkar having a great ODI track record, and his 11 lunches with Cyrus. Further, they talk about Pakistan finally playing a proper test series on their home turf against Australia, the new Shane Warne documentary, and Vinod Kambli getting arrested for drunk driving. This week on the show we review a great week for both the Black Caps and the White Ferns, as well as a host of other topics as we look back at the week that was. We start by discussing the amazing performance from Matt Henry, which saw him record the third-best bowling figures in a Test innings for New Zealand, as well as smashing a quick 50 at #11. There's praise for Tim Southee, Tom Blundell and Colin de Grandhomme as well as Gary Stead for his decision to promote Neil Wagner to #5 in the absence of Kane Williamson. But will South Africa bounce back in the second Test? We remain in Aotearoa to chat about the White Ferns, who have looked more and more impressive with every game of their series against India, highlighted by contributions from many different players within the squad. Then it's a quick look at the domestic scene, with the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield and the Ford Trophy up for grabs this weekend. As we venture offshore, we discuss a changing of the guard for the Indian Test team, with Pujara, Rahane, Saha and Ishant all left out. There are questions around the Australian white ball team, despite winning their T20 series 4-1 against a Sri Lankan side that showed a lot of promise. Will Aaron Finch make it to the next T20 World Cup? And how much is the IPL going to impact international tours for both Australia and New Zealand? We'll be back in your feed again later this week with a special guest to preview the Women's World Cup.
