A Delhi court dismissed a revision petition from Kapil Mishra, a BJP leader and Delhi's Law and Justice Minister, regarding a case under the Representation of the People Act. The court found that Mishra strategically used the term "Pakistan" in his statements to incite hatred and communal polarisation for electoral gain in 2020. Specifically, his remarks about "mini-Pakistans" in Delhi and an "India vs Pakistan" contest on election day were deemed attempts to promote enmity based on religion. The court asserted that the implicit reference to a particular religious community was easily understood as an attempt to generate conflict. Mishra's lawyer argued that his statements referred to a country, not a group of people. However, the judge rejected this argument, asserting that the implication was clear.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The "ultimate question to life, the universe and everything" that famously has the answer of 42 is the question posed in Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. In the story, the supercomputer Deep Thought is tasked with finding the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything." After 7.5 million years of computation, Deep Thought reveals that the answer is 42. However, Deep Thought explains that the truly hard part was not finding the answer, but rather determining the actual question that 42 is the answer to. Deep Thought then creates an even more powerful computer called the Earth to find the real question. Unfortunately, the Earth is destroyed before it can unveil the question. So the "ultimate question" that corresponds to the answer of 42 is never definitively revealed in the Hitchhiker's Guide stories. It remains a mystery, with the implication that the true nature of the universe is so complex and enigmatic that it cannot be easily captured in a simple question. The lack of a clear question highlights the absurdity and humor in the idea of there being a single, ultimate answer to the mysteries of existence. Graham with the help of Meclabs is going to change all that. Watch this space for the "ultimate question" Clips from the Podcast What is MeclabsAI? About "My Dreams of You" - Hallmark (2024) Directed by: Kevin Fair. Kevin has 49 directing credits and in addition to the slew of Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies he's directed, he has also recently directed: "For Love and Honey," "Legend of the Lost Locket," "A Season for Family," "Checkin it Twice" and "3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost." Written by: Gary Templeton and Marcy Holland Marcy Holland has 47 writing credits including hits like "A Biltmore Christmas," and the upcoming "Christmas Quest." This is Gary Templeton's eleventh writing credit, although his first for Hallmark. His other credits include movies like "Corduroy," and "Frog Goes to Dinner." Skyler Samuels plays Grace. Skyler has 32 acting credits and this is her second Hallmark appearance. She got her start in s how's like "Drake and Josh," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "That's so Raven." She went on to play Gabby Petito in "The Gabby Petito Story." She's now playing Young Aurora Teagarden in the "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries." Kapil Talwalkar plays Michael. Kapil has 21 acting credits including the entire run of "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" as well as 16 episodes of the "Night Court" reboot. This is his first Hallmark appearance. Cecilia Lee plays Alura. This is a breakout role for Cecilia who has just seven acting credits (four of which are short films.) This is also her first Hallmark appearance. David Rosser plays Harvey. This is not David's first hallmark appearance as he was also in "Paging Mr. Darcy" and "Never Too Late to Celebrate." He has 43 total acting credits. “My Dreams of You” was filmed in Canada's Ottawa and surrounding areas. Talwalkar revealed that he wrote an original song with Lauren Ray for the movie. Watch the Trailer for "My Dreams of You" Our Thoughts on "My Dreams of You" What We Liked Firstly, big kudos to Hallmark for embracing diversity with "My Dreams of You". One of the film's strengths is its casting. We were thrilled to see an Indian American actor, Kapil Talwalkar, in the leading role. It felt fresh and exciting, breaking from the typical mold of Hallmark leads. Plus, let's not forget Cecilia Lee, who shone as Allura and, for us, stole the spotlight in every scene she was in. Speaking of characters, we appreciated Skylar Samuels as Grace. It seems Hallmark might be grooming her for the spotlight. From her earlier roles in shows like "Drake and Josh" to her Hallmark mystery stints, she's proving to be a rising star. As for the plot, Dream Central was a fascinating concept. We loved the big swings Hallmark took with this idea, even if it got a bit confusing at times (we'll get to that later!). And how adorable was that rain-soaked kiss? It brought a genuine sense of romance and progress to Grace and Michael's budding relationship without fast-forwarding to unrealistic love declarations. What We Wished For Now, onto our wishes. The movie didn't come without its flaws. We found that it suffered from a lack of clear direction in the storytelling. The dual dreams and real-life struggles theme felt a bit overstuffed. Dream Central could have easily carried the plot without needing both leads to chase professio...
In this Unlocked podcast episode, hosted by Skot Waldron. Kapil Kulshreshtha, CEO Scintillate pty ltd, shares his personal story and concept of "playing it full", which means living life to the fullest, being fully engaged, and not just going through the motions. He recounts how he spent most of his career playing it safe and getting by, but eventually realized that he was not truly alive. He discusses how people often get caught up in trying to be someone else and carrying around others' expectations, which holds them back from being their true selves. Kapil shares that the only way to break free from this cycle is to go inward and work on oneself, acknowledging that this can be a difficult and ego-driven process. He also touches on the concept of Kronos (chronological time) vs. Kairos (the time of being fully engaged), and how slowing down and being present can bring more joy and fulfillment into one's life. In this episode Judith Germain speaks to Kapil Kulshreshtha about finding your voice, increasing influence, and breaking the corporate status quo. Key Takeaways Finding your voice means knowing your core identity, values, and letting that drive your expression authentically Increasing influence happens naturally when coming from a place of being, leveraging strategies/tactics like branding, networking Breaking corporate status quo means defining your own success, not following others' definitions - you can "have it all" on your own terms Focus on one passion/career path fully rather than dividing efforts between multiple side hustles Topics Enjoying Life's Activities Spending time with kids, coaching clients on possibilities, reading/learning Doing things that make him feel alive and energised Kapil's Background Worked 22 years in corporate (Microsoft, Cognizant) before becoming a coach in 2017 Failed initially as a coach, but now runs a substantial coaching business Helps individuals in corporate build powerful careers/lives aligned with identity Finding Your Voice Not just about expression, but knowing your core identity/values driving everything Faking it or trying to be someone else is unsustainable - be authentic Let your voice emerge from who you truly are, not superficial changes Increasing Influence Happens naturally when coming from your authentic place of being Then leverage strategies like branding, networking, content creation Having a coach can help amplify your influence Breaking Corporate Status Quo Most follow the same plan: get job > get promoted > make money > buy things This follows others' meaning of success, not your own definition Redefine success for yourself - you can "have it all" on your terms, not balanced Don't divide efforts between multiple hustles - go all-in on one passion In this conversation Kapil explains that finding your voice is not just about how you express yourself, but about knowing your core values and identity and letting that drive everything you do. He emphasises the importance of being authentic rather than trying to simulate a persona. Judith and Kapil discuss strategies for increasing influence, including leveraging your authentic voice and identity, as well as using tactics like personal branding, content creation, and networking. They caution against manipulation and emphasise the importance of coming from a place of being rather than just doing. Kapil Kulshreshtha is a career coach focused on helping corporate folks find their purpose and build powerful careers. Kapil Sibal के Supreme Court Bar Association President बनेने की कहानी - अब डलेगा Judges पर दवाब
In this episode of The Barbershop, Shantanu sits down with the legendary hotelier and entrepreneur Kapil Chopra. Kapil was Former President of The Oberoi Hotels and founder of EazyDiner and The Postcard Hotels, and in this episode, he breaks down the intricacies of the hospitality industry in India, offering deep insights into running a successful service business. Tune in to learn about the challenges, opportunities, and key strategies in hospitality from one of the industry's leading experts.
Kapil Chopra, the founder and CEO of Postcard Hotels told me the following statistics.Of the 10 million foreign tourists who visit India each year, roughly 10% - one million - are classified as luxury. “So we've kind of made entire Rajasthan and Kerala as two big sectors for one million tourists,” he said.In comparison domestic trips made by Indians was around 2.3 billion a year, a few years ago. Even if just 1% of those could be upgraded to luxury travel, that's 23 million.Chopra wants to make that happen with Postcard Hotels, his luxury boutique hotel chain. Launched in 2018 with 3 hotels, it has 9 today, and 23 in the works. He wants them all to be in what he calls the “transformational” category. What's that you ask?The first level is commodity. A bed, an air conditioner and a bathroom. The second level represent hotels that offer differentiated “products”.The third level are the luxury hotels come, differentiated by exceptional service. The fourth level is experiential. It's what Airbnb does when it offers you the ability to stay in Paris at a place that overlooks the Eiffel Tower. The fifth level is for “transformative experiences”.“When you combine all of them. If you're able to give a good product, great world class service, great experiential experiences, soak in the destination. If you add all of this together, it becomes transformational,” says Chopra. He lists three luxury hotel brands in the fifth category – Aman Resorts, Six Senses and One & Only.“And I looked at them and said, what is common? They were all founder-led. And the founders were amazing. But the founders all lost control of the brands they had built,” he says.Kapil Chopra doesn't want to join that group.Kapil also has strong opinions on why he believes the luxury hotel business has become sterile and unexciting over the years, and how Postcard is changing that image. Apart from Postcard, Kapil Chopra is also the founder of the table reservation service, discovery and payment platform, EazyDiner.Over the course of our conversation he also talks about:How luxury travel and travelers are evolving in IndiaWhy did he choose to leave the Oberoi Group at the height of his careerHow he's become calmer after starting Postcard HotelsHow he's doing fundraising, investments and expansion in way that doesn't endanger the parent companyWhy ESOPs and wealth creation needs to be more prevalent in the hospitality and travel industriesWelcome to First Principles–The weekly leadership podcast from The Ken.Let's get started.____________________If you love listening to First Principles we're sure you will enjoy reading our Sunday newsletter aptly titled First Principles as well.
