In this episode of Disney Moms Gone Wrong, Suzy and Sarah are joined by Jonathan for a chaotic and hilarious breakdown of Moana 2. With Diana away “doing research” at Disneyland, the crew gets real about their mixed feelings on the sequel. From missing villains to weak songs and bat-demons underwater, they dig into what worked, what flopped, and what left them scratching their heads. They also pitch their own better plotlines, question the accents, and talk dream shapeshifting animals and ultimate Disney vacations.Timestamps and Topics:00:00:00 Welcome to a chaotic Friday night00:02:00 Moana 2 plot recap and Sarah's immediate hot take00:03:30 The missing villain problem and cloud-fighting finale00:05:00 Grading the movie: From B-minus to “don't watch again”00:06:00 Lackluster songs and missing Lin-Manuel magic00:07:30 Thoughts on the vampire demigoddess and Polynesian Thanos00:12:00 Missed opportunities with Moana's sister00:13:40 Best and worst new characters00:14:30 Which of our kids would be our Moana-adventure companion00:20:30 If you could shapeshift into one animal, what would it be?00:24:00 The Maui issue: What happened to him in this movie?00:25:00 What's with the random British and Aussie accents?00:28:00 Why the songs didn't hit this time—and our Reddit theory00:32:00 Would you go on a Moana-style high seas adventure or chill with unlimited snacks?00:36:00 Spontaneous Disneyland trip planning and parenting talkKey Takeaways:The group agreed the sequel felt like a jumbled collection of shorts rather than a cohesive movie.Missing Lin-Manuel Miranda had a big impact on the music's quality and memorability.Moana's sister had potential for a powerful subplot but was sidelined. There's speculation the film was originally pitched as a show, which might explain the pacing issues. The team had more fun imagining their own Moana-style adventures (with nachos and spicy margaritas).Quotes:

This week B. Earl shared his experience writing for such NFT projects as Chiwawows and Marvel projects as a new Spiderman comic. Interested in NFT Writing? Blockchain and Web3 and all that? Check it out! From B. Earl: I have been working in the entertainment business for the past 20 years ranging from documentaries to graphic novels to feature films to community building. Currently I am writing for Marvel Comics while producing projects with my creative partner, Taboo, under our SkyView Way Studios banner. We have projects currently set up with Cartoon Network and Gaumont. I am also heavily involved in the blockchain space, using NFTs as storytelling nodes for both community and world-building. The current project I am running and creating is called Chiwawows (www.chiwawows.com) which is built on the Solana Blockchain. I have two other story-driven NFT projects in development called Realms of Avalon and Angryfoot. My focus is to create multi-media experiences in entertainment using new and emerging technologies that engage communities into creative activity. Having founded the largest comic book club in LA in 2008 called COMIC BOOK SUNDAY! (CBS!), with members around the globe, my finger is on the pulse of what is trending across the board and my access to those creators is unparalleled.

As a continuation of Episode 35 where we talked about various companies who chose to profiting off of cultural appropriation, today we bring the topic towards fashion and beauty. So many mainstream fashion trends today have roots in Black culture, and we take the time to touch on some instances where these 'inspirations' have gone wrong. From B-style in Japan to the popularity of dreadlocks, we also have a subjective discussion about what's acceptable. and what's not. As Asian Canadians, we also talk about a few trends popularized in the West that remind us of past cultural traumas growing up here. The larger conversation eventually leads back to the root of the problem - the erasure of darker moments in history and the single goal that arises again and again... money. --- Thanks for listening! From B-school through the big leagues, the business world often places value on logic and analysis. But on creativity? Not so much. And this is a recipe for disaster. What gets the ball rolling when we're feeling stuck in our careers? Why is my company not growing or reaching higher levels of profitability? What's the difference between a workable plan and a stroke of genius? The answer is creativity—and it's the missing ingredient for far too many of us who feel we're not reaching our creative potential (or doubt we have it in the first place)Creativity isn't a “nice to have” leadership trait. It's the key to success in every workplace and all industries. Anyone can be creative —even if you don't think you're a “creative” personIn this episode I talk with Nir Bashan, author of The Creator Mindset, about how creativity benefits business and what leaders can do to foster it.From working with Hollywood and music stars like Woody Harrelson and Rod Stewart, Nir discovered something that may shock you: These creative superstars aren't all that different from you or I! It's just that they have mastered a method of repeatable and predictable creativity -- a type of creativity that anyone can learn. And it turns out that's the same type of creativity can be used in businesses and careers everywhere!Nir has taught thousands of leaders and individuals around the globe how to harness the power of creativity to improve profitability, increase sales, boost customer service and ultimately create more meaning in their work. Working with clients such as AT&T, Microsoft, Ace Hardware, NFL Network and EA Sports, Nir has spent the last two decades working on a formula to codify creativity for business. That formula is found in 'The Creator Mindset', a book which has been translated into two languages and released worldwide by McGraw/Hill business in August of 2020.The Creator Mindset Book — NIR BASHAN Managing Director, Public Speaker and Author. Creativity can be learned by anyone. Come in and find out how.
The Creator Mindset: 92 Tools to Unlock the Secrets to Innovation, Growth, and Sustainability by Nir Bashan Creativity isn’t a “nice to have” leadership trait. It’s the key to success in every workplace and all industries. Learn to access yours, now―even if you don’t think you’re a “creative” person From B-school through the big leagues, the business world often places value on logic and analysis. But on creativity? Not so much. And this, according to Nir Bashan, is a recipe for disaster. What gets the ball rolling when we’re feeling stuck in our careers? Why is my company not growing or reaching higher levels of profitability? What’s the difference between a workable plan and a stroke of genius? The answer is creativity―and it’s the missing ingredient for far too many of us who feel we’re not reaching our creative potential (or doubt we have it in the first place). In The Creator Mindset, Bashan draws from years of experience in advertising, entertainment, consulting, keynote speaking, and teaching to show you how to use creativity as a decision-making tool, and do so every bit as confidently as you use spreadsheets and data analysis. Bashan demystifies the process of sharpening this ability by breaking it down into four essential sections. Discover what is meant by a “creator mindset,” why it’s crucial in business, how to see the world with this mindset, and how to sustain it. Written in plain language with real-world examples, chapters include: Creativity for non-creative people Training your mind to think in a creative way When nothing else works―creativity will Envisioning a world that can be, not the world that is The virtues of listening―and the value of making mistakes The “Creator Mindset” guide to crisis Beating the complacency conundrum If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by vague advice to “think outside the box,” The Creator Mindset can help put you on a proven track to harnessing your best, most creative ideas, and feel confident you’re performing to your fullest potential―analytically and creatively. In honour f the release of Dumbo, we're going a bit left field. Seems every we look online this week, it's countdowns of Tim Burton and Michael Keaton (both worthy of course), but on this occasion we want to honour the real star of the movie: the Animal! :)So this week, the Silver Screen Dudes are counting down the TOP 10 movies about Animals, with a small caveat: No animations as we thought it would be too easy. From B-movie brilliance like Congo and Kujo, to ground breaking epics like Jurassic Park, to family adventures like Babe & Homeward Bound, and let us not forget hidden gems like The Ghost & the Darkness. This list celebrates everything that animals have brought to the Silver Screen!

"The freak-of-nature-tiger was actually a man-made disaster," says Dane Huckelbridge, @huckelbridge. You're here because you love listening to badass writers, filmmakers, and producers talk about the art and craft of true stories. I try and unpack their journey and how they go about the work, so you can apply those tools of mastery to your own work. Be sure to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts and hand this episode over to a friend you think would benefit from it. If you want to leave a written review please do. Feel free to email me with kind words or questions. I might just read them on the air. And keep the conversation going on Twitter @BrendanOMeara and @CNFPod. You are the social network. Subvert the algorithm, man. Rage against the algorithm (great podcast name by the way). If you need any more evidence of Dane's cool, check out his Twitter handle is simply @huckelbridge. Dane has written for the Wall Street Journal, the Daily Beast, Tin House, The New Republic, and New Delta Review. He is the author of Bourbon: A History of the American Spirit; The United States of Beer: The True Tale of How Beer Conquered America, From B.C. to Budweiser and Beyond; and a novel, Castle of Water, which has been optioned for a film. He grew up in Cleveland. Went to Princeton. And he lives in Paris with his French wife. Happy Valentine's Day, holy shit. Dane's book was originally going to be a chapter in a book of man-eating animals, but this story got bigger and bigger and bigger. It's a brilliant exploration of the tiger as well as British colonialism and how the this tiger was a man-made disaster. Let's get it on, here's @huckelbridge, the coolest dude living in Europe.

From B;s Opening Session in Tokyo - January 2016 This is what I am endeavouring to point toward with all of humanity. Where you move from creates the reality that exists . Where you come from, where you move from creates reality as we know it for all of humanity and your own life . It seems like it is going on ‘out here’..but it is going IN HERE! THIS is the expression of what is going on 'IN here'. So in the deepest place in here - that knows now end - in the deepest place you are expressing the cosmos. Too big for you?! Well this is how big it gets! This one's endeavour is to help individuals find a deeper depth of meaning to exist. So that we can come from and relate from a deeper placeless place in every moment - then as conscious Awareness you get to know your self in the unseen places. You get to awaken ..so when we walk we're walking in the black. When you walk in the black awake - it creates light . From light to matter YOU form yourself. Walking awake produces the light that creates new life, encodes a new reality. Let me get this clear to you: My endeavour is to link and relate what you ARE and how you move in a human body. I am clear - that's what you are. You are the light of the universe..you are its SOURCE and you are the profound Awareness in which light comes forth. The Form is a dance of Awakened-ness and there are different codes in it . So there is a structure to the movement - in very much the same way there is a structure to our universe. We have a sun and all the planets move around it . It is a profound structure... The planets orbit the sun in profound alignment with what the sun is .. Where I come from that means the planets give expression and form to what that light is ... so there is a structure to this but as you move in the structure you move into the Source of that structure ..because there is no end to what you can deepen into ... You have a human form - it is a structure . Go in your heart and it is beyond the structure. It is the source of the structure... It re-structures and re-codes the structure of the human body and its expression. from TOKYO 27116 Dance of Awakening Full Session Recordings and Retreat Audio Packages available for purchase here : http://bprior.org/recordings/
