My guest today worked in Club Med Sandpiper in April of 1989 as a Bar G.O. for his first season. He was born in the States, raised in Toronto and now resides in Arizona. Please help me welcome to MFS, Scott Richmond! Before Club Med, Scott played club hockey at Ohio State and after graduation, he found himself bartending at a nightclub in Oakland, California. It was there that a fellow bartender told him about Club Med. Scott drove down from San Francisco to Los Angeles, for his interview at the Hilton Hotel in Universal Studios, Hollywood. Before his scheduled interview that day, he popped into a bar and sitting next to him was none other than actor, Telly Savalas (Kojack)! Scott took this as a good omen and went on to ace his interview. He also shares a hilarious story about meeting the coach of the Boston Bruins, Mike Milbury, during a late arrival in 1990 in St. Lucia. Why is that funny? Hello beautiful people On today's podcast we have the beautiful soul Scott Richmond. Scotty is a husband, father of 3, graphic designer, the persona Ozzie on a kids educational YouTube Channel and ultramarathon runner, most notably having finished the UTA, a 100km ultramarathon event in the Blue Mountains, Australia, nine times, having placed as high as 6th and most recently, 7th place. What I personally love about this podcast is going deeper into the motivation behind Scotty getting into ultramarathon running and particularly why he has participated in the UTA so many times. He shares that it all started to honour the memory and legacy of his little cousin Elliot who passed at the young age of 19-years-old to Motor Neuron Disease; fundraising for MND, Scotty wanted to try something that was well out of his comfort zone, and a 100km ultramarathon was just that, not knowing at the time that it would lead to a long-lasting obsession. Scotty is a heart on his sleeve kind of guy, and you can really feel into the pain that the loss of a young family member can bring, but also the passion. Scotty values the sentimental aspect of his running, just as much as the competitive, and it is truly beautiful to hear the relationship between these and how it manifests in his high performance.  If you are enjoying this podcast, please rate, review, subscribe, share with friends and family, become part of the To Be Human Collective, and settle in for this conversation with the just genuine all round great guy, Scotty Richmond.Connect with MeMindset Coaching | https://www.jennahlouise.com.auInstagram Personal | https://www.instagram.com/jennah_louiseConnect with ScottInstagram | https://www.instagram.com/run_scoot_run

Dr. Scott was a lifelong athlete who battled lots of illness and pain.  These experiences led him to Athletic Training and eventually on to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.  After battling multiple health issues including Mold poisoning and Lyme Disease and healing himself of these naturally Dr. Scott now exclusively works with those whose lives have been affected by Toxins and Toxicity. He addresses many things in his practice but understands and incorporates principles stating that all areas of life must be evaluated for someone to heal.  The human body is energy and chemicals! Nowadays Detox is more important that nutrition! Based off studies in 2015 concerning placental blood in the cord the likeliness of every human being toxic is 100% simply from heavy metals from mom and pesticides etc.  These toxins can wreak health havoc from birth and show up later in life in the form of symptoms. Toxins especially love fat and nerves, so they bury themselves in the brain and fatty areas of the cells.    One growing area is glyphosate or Round Up being found in soft tissue injuries.  Pesticides destroying our bodies. Role of Cellular Healing Each cell has an outer membrane made up of 2 layers of fat Toxins bind to the receptors meant for healthy chemicals and cause congestion and cellular inflammation. Inside each cell has organs which also have layers of fat making up their membranes One specific organ is the mitochondria or energy center and needs to be addressed when handling toxin removal. The process of toxin removal is not one size fits all but in general the order is necessary.  Remove Toxins Must heal outer cell membranes by eating lots of healthy fats (grass-fed butter, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, www.SCTOIL.com) which will open channels to the inside of the cell Raise Cellular Energy Inside will also benefit from healthy fats but now also adding Selenium, Iodine, Minerals, and Oxygen will help the cells begin to dump toxins out of the cell into the organs of Excretion like the Liver and Gall Bladder and Kidneys and Skin. Get the Toxins out (super important and often left out as toxins will rebind) Coffee enemas and palmitic acid in the coffee force the liver and gall bladder to cleanse and dump so it can bind the toxins in the bile duct and get it in the toilet before they reabsorb into the body. Hydration is a must so the kidneys can process and get rid of toxins. Castor Oil packs are amazing ways of assisting the organs Movement to stimulate Lymphatic System. Rebounding, walking, stretching all get the lymphs to move and help drain. Great nutrition helps the gut health for this process. A typical cleanse is not a detoxification as it likely will only clean outside the cell and not the inside and may likely increase reactions and cause more long-term illness. Again, the order is very important, and each stage is managed and has its own protocols.  Dr. Scott 5 recommendations for those in Chronic Pain Bedtime Routine is a must including stretching before bed Lemon Water assists the Kidneys in filtration and binding of toxins Tablespoon or more of Himalayan Sea Salt daily to stimulate the sodium/potassium pump. Sleep Coffee Enemas to get the cleaning going. This week we're thrilled to welcome to The Armory, DJ Justin Johnson of San Francisco. One of the hardest working men in the business, Johnson runs four labels including Barely Legal Records. While Johnson is an accomplished DJ in his own right, he is respected by artists around the globe and has helped us line up some serious talent for the Armory Podcast, which we very much appreciate (thank you, Justin!). Now press play and get down! Justin Johnson is a DJ and producer from the San Francisco Bay Area spinning Breaks, House, and Tech House. He also operates Cable Recordings, Barely Legal Records, Cylon Dub Receptor, and Southern Vice Recordings. With a discography of more than forty tracks, he has worked with John Selway, Johnny Dangerously, and Johan Afterglow, as well as remixes for iiO, DJ Punk-Roc, Nigel Richards, Velcro City Records, Beyond Zilla, and Quartz Lock. As a kid, he was raised on heavy doses of Blues, Jazz, and Funk, and when the New Wave scene started he became mesmerized by the sounds of the synthesizers, staying up late listening to the radio just hoping to hear Gary Numan or Afrika Bambaata. In high school he started to link up with other DJs, landed his own radio show on KSRH (San Rafael, CA), and honed his skills with good friend Mr. E and other local DJs. During his college years he would spend hours mixing with John Howard and going to the underground events in the SF Bay Area. In 1994 he made a move to New York City and within a year of being in the north east, his shoulder was tapped by Scotty Marz, the founding father of Kingsize USA promotions, to become part of the crew. One year later he had built up such a solid reputation that he was recruited by Scott Richmond and Jonathan Kadish (aka Mr. Kleen) to work at the world famous Satellite Records in New York City. Justin quickly made a massive impact in the store and became the Breaks buyer and the stock manager for all three stores (Boston, NYC, Atlanta). Satellite offered the opportunity to not only be on the cutting edge of new sounds and producers, but also to be able to help cultivate the sounds of other DJs like Danny Tenaglia, DJ Icey, Adam Freeland, DJ Dan, Dave Dresden, Thomas Bangalter, Todd Terry, and just about any other taste-maker in the industry. After years of consistently rocking the north east in renowned venues like The Limelight, The Tunnel, The Roxy, Roseland Ballroom, and Irving Plaza, he became known as the “King of Breaks” in NYC, and an appearance at a massive NYC festival (6th Element) was so impressive that it even caught the ears of The New York Times. Justin always brings the futuristic funk with him and you can hear his influences from the old school to the latest innovators - from Kraftwerk, King Tubby, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, John Coltrane, Giorgio Moroder, Gino Soccio, and all the way up to Bass Bin Twins, King Yoof, Lee Coombs, The Freestylers, Badboe, Olav Basoski, Maceo Plex, and Carl Cox. His passion for DJing is still as strong now as it was when he started more than twenty-five years ago, and he is still on the radio running his internet show called ‘Techtonic Funk Brigade ‘on NSB Radio (1st and 3rd Fridays 5pm-7pm PST).
