Power-pop mod meets hardcore in this beloved Dischord outlier of a release. It was a pleasure to lose myself in these candy coated hooks and non-stop propulsion. And don't get me started on the ridiculously well written lyrics. Adz joins me in the copilot seat once again and we speak with the band later in the episode. Strap in, this is a long ride!
Wake up and roll into your Thursday with Joel & Mama Mish, along with sassy Liam for JOY Breakfast – a funny, cheeky, and delightfully unpredictable morning show that mixes news, nostalgia, and nonsense with a lot of laughs. This week it’s all about celebrating the magic of JOY’s Radiothon with plenty of laughs, chaos and community spirit! The fabulous Adz joins the team and bravely shares audio from his unforgettable back, sack and crack wax experience – because apparently nothing says Radiothon quite like a little pain for entertainment! In the second hour, the team is joined by the wonderful LGBTQIA+ Commissioner Joe Ball for an inspiring chat about community, visibility and inclusion, before welcoming extra-special guest Dom the Truck Driver, who quickly becomes part of the family. Then it all comes down to the ultimate showdown in Closest to the Pin: Dom teams up with Mama Mish, while Commissioner Joe Ball backs Joel. But does Joel’s winning streak continue, or is this the week the crown finally slips? The post (57). Leather, longing and love that doesn't fit the mould. This week on Geeks Out, Tamzyn goes solo (with a little buzz by the fabulous ADZ) to review Pillion, the new romantic drama starring Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling, directed by Harry Lighton and adapted from the novel Box Hill. Premiering at Cannes to strong critical response, Pillion explores vulnerability, power and identity within a queer biker subculture — not as spectacle, but as deeply human connection. Is it slow? Yes.Is it intimate? Absolutely. Is it for everyone? Probably not. But if you're open to expanding your mind and heart, this is a film worth sitting with. LISTEN NOW! The post Pillion – Love Outside the Mould appeared first on Geeks OUT.
...And here's the second installment of our examination of Pass and Stow by Lungfish. Adz is back in the copilot seat and Paul Hutzler (whom roadied and road managed for the band) stops by to share some fascinating stories from his time with Lungfish.
In Episode 45 of Chain Reactions, we sit down with Adrienne (aka Adz), CMO of [Gnosis](https://www.gnosis.io/), to explore what it really means to “fork banks,” and why now is the moment to fight for crypto's original values. We get into how Gnosis is uniquely positioned to push the space forward: a fully operational Layer 1 with no downtime in 7 years, deeply values-aligned founders, and a full suite of infra (Gnosis Chain, Pay, Card, Safe, Circles, CowSwap, and more) built for a new kind of financial system, one where profits and power flow to users, not from them.**We also talk about:**- The brand reboot behind “Bank on Gnosis”- Why Gnosis is launching its own consumer app in Ireland (and what students really think about money)- What Web3 gets wrong about ownership, rewards, and trust- And how streetwear, co-creation, and cooperative finance might onboard the next million usersIf you're tired of rebuilding TradFi with new branding, or trying to build something better with real-world adoption in mind — this is the blueprint.
This was a debut crossword by Patrick Hayden, and a very nice one, to boot. The theme was sly, and the author has a knack for writing novel clues for common answers. We covered many of them in the podcast, but we admired many more. For instance, we had 58A, What you eat, DIET; 52D, Metaphor for a bad goalie, SIEVE (awesome!); and 61D, Start of a bray, HEE (hee, hee). Also, we'd be remiss if we didn't acknowledge the presence of both 38A, Wood-cutting tool, ADZ, and 63D, Highlights of the Super Bowl, for some, ADS. The main question on everyone's mind: Are we in Junk Wax 2.0?We dive into a wild calculation that puts the new Topps flagship print run at a staggering 429 MILLION cards. Adz and Russell debate what this massive number means, whether a product can be "junk wax" but still have hyper-collectible chase cards (like the new "All Kings" insert), and how Topps' massive marketing push is taking the hobby mainstream. We also answer your burning questions:Is Wemby a buy, hold, or sell right now? What new Topps inserts are the next "Downtown" or "Kaboom"?Should you bank on non-famous rookies or chase the superstars? Will your old, rare Panini cards (like Steph or LeBron rookies) lose their value? This is a massive shift for the hobby. Formosa: Fulcrum of the Future? An invasion of Taiwan is uncomfortably likely and potentially catastrophic. We should research better ways to avoid it. TLDR: I forecast that an invasion of Taiwan increases all the anthropogenic risks by ~1.5% (percentage points) of a catastrophe killing 10% or more of the population by 2100 (nuclear risk by 0.9%, AI + Biorisk by 0.6%). This would imply it constitutes a sizable share of the total catastrophic risk burden expected over the rest of this century by skilled and knowledgeable forecasters (8% of the total risk of 20% according to domain experts and 17% of the total risk of 9% according to superforecasters). I think this means that we should research ways to cost-effectively decrease the likelihood that China invades Taiwan. This could mean exploring the prospect of advocating that Taiwan increase its deterrence by investing in cheap but lethal weapons platforms [...] ---Outline:(00:13) Formosa: Fulcrum of the Future?(02:04) Part 0: Background(03:44) Part 1: Invasion -- uncomfortably possible.(08:33) Part 2: Why an invasion would be bad(10:27) 2.1 War and nuclear war(19:20) 2.2.
