Podcast Overview: In this engaging conversation, the members of Disciples discuss their journey through the music industry, including their break, the pressures of success, and their return to music. They reflect on the evolution of their sound, the challenges of touring, and the importance of building a brand and audience. The discussion highlights the dynamics of collaboration within the group and their aspirations for the future, emphasizing the significance of passion and resilience in their careers.Who Are Disciples: Balancing chart success with an authentic outpost, Disciples is a trio that have toured the globe, won numerous awards, and picked up Gold and Platinum hits. With a sound that captivates dance music lovers, Nathan Vincent Duvall, Gavin Koolmon, and Luke McDermot make their music with an air of mystery, while also crafting beats and bass to get the dancefloor moving. In 2015, the group dropped their collaboration with Calvin Harris, the multiplatinum selling hit “How Deep Is Your Love?”. The track shot to No.2 in the British charts, hitting 27 in the Billboard 100, and picked up two nominations at the Brit Awards in 2016. Their single ‘On My Mind' also reached platinum status and was Radio 1's most played track in 2017, cementing their position as one of the UK's biggest dance acts. Disciples have captivated audiences worldwide playing at well known events and festivals such as Ushuaïa, Exit Festival, Creamfields, Snowbombing, Love Saves The Day, and Hideout. After a break following their hits ‘No Ties', ‘All Mine' and ‘Only The Gods' which reached audiences across the globe back in 2019, the guys are back from a hiatus and are bringing a new energy. Their latest track 'If I Stay' featuring Delilah was released in August on Ministry Of Sound, garnering support worldwide, including Jam Hot record on Capital Dance as well a Hottest Record with Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1. The guys are spending all of their time in the studio, gearing up for more releases. Irish electronic music duo Boots & Kats are back with an amazing release titled ‘People's Dance' on Hammer's imprint Remmah. People's Dance premieres today as a single ahead of the full EP which is due to drop on January 20th, marking Remmah's 10th release since its inception. Having formed Boots & Kats back in 2015, both Jack Keogh and Ciarán Martin have gone on to establish themselves as one of Irish dance music's most enjoyable and feel-good duos. Since then, the pair have gone on to perform all across the country at countless club shows that include the legendary Toast parties as well as regular appearances to District 8 and Index more recently. Festival appearances at the likes of Electric Picnic, Life Festival, Yurt City, Otherside, and so on. Not to mention parties abroad such as Parklife and Snowbombing too. Boots & Kats have very clearly built a strong reputation as fantastic party-starters, or better phrased as ‘Intergalactic Party Wardens' since they formed 8 years ago this year. Though they have spent the majority of their time producing too during this period, resulting in numerous productions that vary in jackin' styles that range from disco to funk, house to acid, and beyond. People's Dance moves away from the pair's previous release that leaned more heavily on Italo and disco influences, as this 4 track EP has been tailored for a more club-focused sound, spanning right across the acid and house spectrum and even touching on elements of techno at parts. Today's premiere ‘People's Dance' is best described as a modern take on a 90s acid techno tune with pacing drums, a driving acid line, and layered synth stabs throughout for good measure. Dig in!

For this week’s episode the show begins with Eden posing a question to Sope and Nic asking if they have any advice for people interested in getting into music journalism and the politics that come with pitching and commissions (00:10:17). Good morning, Hangover Club! Or, more realistically, bad morning? Either way, we’re sure you’ll enjoy some fun tech house tunes as your soundtrack for one of the last Sunday Fundays of summer! Joining us on the struggle bus today, we have @sivzmusic with an awesome guest mix! Sivz hails from Vancouver, BC, so we first became acquainted (as most DJs do) through SoundCloud and Instagram a few years ago due to our similar, G-housey sound at the time. Since then, she’s taken her city by storm. On top of playing support for all the biggest names in house and tech, she founded passion project @beatginnings in 2017 - an initiative that helps local DJs & producers break into Vancouver’s saturated electronic music scene. Sivz also hosts events under her own brand, Sylections and has spent the summer dominating the BC festival circuit, playing Bass Coast, Snowbombing, and more. Her collaboration release, "We Movin'" on Sheppards Records charted on Beatport and she’s back in the studio now working on more projects, which we can’t wait to hear. We got to party with Sivz at Dirtybird Campout a couple years ago and she’s our kind of girl - if you hang out with her, you will probably end up hungover. On her recommendation, get your day started today with a Burt Reynolds shot - spiced rum and butterscotch schnapps - something we’d never heard of but are definitely going to have to try now! Good luck out there, partiers! If you like what you hear, please LIKE, COMMENT, REPOST, and SHARE! xoxo

It comes as no surprise then to this crowd, that Nixon is receiving respective accolades on the London scene for his musical talents. A random meeting with Justin Rushmore of FLR whilst snowboarding led to a move to London in 06 and to a new addiction – producing. His 2007 collaborations with D&B golden boy, Shimon, took the scene by surprise, with clubbers loving the heavily influenced D & B breaks - a fresh vibe in an increasingly jaded breaks scene. With three releases under the FLR wing, ‘I Like You' received rave reviews, receiving regular airplay on both Annie Nightingale BBC and Kiss FM's Jay Cunnings show. The second release “White Noise” went to No 13 in the DMC Buzz Charts, and ‘Around the Edge', charged to No 1 in the Beatport Breaks chart. Whilst Nixon's background was rooted firmly in thrash and drum & bass, his DJ style today, is a blend of tight break necking beats, topped off with deep gut rumbling bass. Engineering his own solo tunes, it's a hard life dividing his time between snowboarding, and his recording in the studio! His strong self-expression of snowboarding is clearly continued onto the decks & is a lifestyle balance most DJs would kill for. The Mixologists, Aquasky, Tayo, Darren Jay, Davide Carbone, MC Chickaboo, Utah Jazz, the list is endless - have graced the decks with Nixon. Now billed as the UK's top pro-DJ/music producer and professional snowboarder, from his debut at London's superclubs - Fabric & Ministry of Sound, he's now a regular on the underground club scene & plays a host of international festivals including the legendary Snowbombing. Moving forward, Nixon has stretched out his knowledge of quality music, composing music for UK computer games giant Codemasters and their Dirt 3 & 4 games. Top brands such as CASIO, QUIKSILVER, MONSTER, NIKE, SHARP have endorsed and used Nixon beats & sound design for their Global Marketing Campaigns. This in turn has opened doors to remix works by global sensation Ben Howard & upcoming acts such as A Girl Called Ruth & Ryan Keen. Stepping from clubland to culinary, he also produces music for Jamie Oliver's DJ BBQ and to movies with CGI giants, the Foundry. Now signed to the world famous renegades of beats & bass, the Stanton Warriors Punks label with his newly released The Basic Of Love Ep includes the tearing remix of LTJ Bukems classic club anthem Atlantis. House Music on this Thursday's show from 8pm on www.manchesterglobal.co.uk . The wicked 691 Music & Snowbombing's Marc Roberts is my headline guest mixer! I'm also doing a new producer spotlight with a fab young talent from Toronto, Harlow Monroe. Dexposure guest is Karpia warming up for us. :) MARC ROBERTS: Most people don't normally have a life changing musical experience in an Austrian ski resort, but this unconventional introduction to house music in 1988, was the start of a non-stop penchant for dark rooms and late nights, which carries on to this day. Enthusiastically absorbing all the changes and new genres that have come and gone since, this has sculptured his eclectic approach to Djing - where cutting edge tracks sit tightly alongside lost classics and crowd favourites. This eclecticism and safe pair of hands has lead to warm ups for a diverse range of artists including Aeroplane, Crookers, Skream, Krafty Kuts, Shy FX and James Zabiela. Guest slots over the years have included seminal clubs such as Fabric & The End in London, Amnesia in Milan, as well as festival appearances at the likes of Creamfields, Global Gathering & V Festival alongside regular trips to Ibiza. Whilst, not making music, Marc also keeps his finger firmly on the pulse by curating award winning line ups for clubs and festivals such as Kazantip and Snowbombing - the latter of which takes place in that ski resort where it all started.   Bonjourno! This week we've got Sam Pepper with some dirty electro beats! Right click here and select save as to download the file At 23 hailing from south London Sam Pepper is a hyperactive dj that has an excitable passion for music often missed by certain chin strokey types. Playing an energetic mix of jump up electro, disco grooves and heavy basslines he is rapidly becoming one of the hottest up and coming djs on the club circuit. His passion for performing started out at the age of 17 throwing college parties in dodgy bars on borrowed sound systems, since then the venues have changed but the energy is the same, when Sam Pepper is on, the house party vibes come through the decks as loud and clear as the latest heavy-duty club track. Having already played out big festival sets at Snowbombing, Bestival, Get loaded, and Lovebox and supported artists such as Pendulum, Filthy dukes, Jaymo, Deepgroove, Alex metric and Grum, Sam Pepper has recently won a place supporting Radio 1’s Kissy Sell Out on his Kissy and Ko UK Tour. With an increasingly busy schedule at some of the coolest clubs in the country and a new exploration in to production Sam Pepper is definitely a name to keep an eye out for in the near future!
