Joe Rizzo brings you MMA. Riz (@RearNakedChoke) and Jay Kelly (@JayKellyMMA) now of The Building Downtown (@TheBuildingDT) brought back the good ole days of RNC Radio on the heels of The UFC Fight Island event in which Deiveson Figueiredo wiped out Joseph Benavidez for the 125-pound title. They kicked it off with some talk about the event, which had ended mere moments before they talked, but then transitioned to the state of broadcasting in MMA, including critiques of UFC play-by-play announcer Jon Anik and reporters Laura Sanko and Megan Olivi, plus a review of what Mike Goldberg meant to the UFC. Then Jay asked Riz to name his dream promoter, matchmaker, and TV crew, with some surprise answers. What set this show apart was the discussion about who would be a dream interview for Riz & Jay, from MMA to NBA circles. Intertwined was the analysis of what the media means to sports and to the world in general in 2020. Jay brought Riz back to his days in professional sports locker rooms, and got him to share some stories of how things work behind the scenes when the cameras are not necessarily on, with etiquette between reporters and what it means to the finished products in print, online, radio and TV. An absolutely packed couple of hours with the guys! For this and more, subscribe wherever you find your podcasts, be it iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Play, Talkshoe or others. Power of Purity | Helping Men to Honor God with their Sexual Gift
Before Lori Pyatt was ever married she asked God what her purpose in life was... and she heard God say... Your purpose in life is to have a great marriage and to help others do the same. But then Lori married a man - Jay Pyatt - who had an addiction to pornography. Not only did they fight over Jay's use of porn from the first day of their marriage... but the first six months were absolutely horrible... and they then settled into a rut that lasted the next 15 years! At the time they were incapable of talking about the problem... and even going to a therapist didn't help... so Jay and Lori grew further apart in their marriage. Since she didn't know what else to do... Lori simply buried her pain inside and tried to not "feel" her feelings. During those dark years Lori found it difficult to even smile. Then... about 10 years into their marriage... Jay decided to get serious about overcoming his porn addiction. He put accountability software on his phone... made a commitment to Lori every morning... and checked in with Lori every night. And he did really well... for about 6 years. Then Jay began using porn again... and did so secretly for the next 4 years! When Lori eventually found out she was devastated. She felt small... knowing her husband had lied to her hundreds... if not thousands of times... over a 4 year period. This brought Jay and Lori to a crossroads. Their marriage would either end in complete failure... or they would have to do the difficult work of rebuilding their relationship into a stronger and healthier marriage than they had ever had before. Be blessed as you listen to Lori Pyatt's amazing and powerful story... and hear how God worked in such a faithful and powerful way on their behalf. Jay and Lori are living proof that God can heal and redeem broken people... sexual addiction... and broken marriages. pornpainhealed.com

You’re in for a treat because today’s special episode of Fer Sure was recorded in the locker room of Joe Louis Arena (Peter was in Fer Sure NJ studios) with guests Craig Custance and Max Bultman from The Athletic Detroit! Here’s what Peter and Jay have for you this time (all time locations are without the opening ad): Guest Intro : (00:00 - 06:30) Jay and our guests set the scene for our temporary recording studio. HHOF and Jersey Retirements: (06:30 - 24:45) The Hall of Fame class and the chances for recently former Red Wings to make it in the future. Then Jay asks about jersey retirements, but not for the players you think. Crosschecks with Guests!: (24:45 - 38:47) Jay asks Craig and Max for their quick-fire thoughts on a few topics in the NHL, and we learn they have a different definition of “quick-fire.” Then, Peter asks each of our guests a question. Tales From the Locker Room (38:47 - 57:43) Since we had access to an incredible temporary studio, it would have been a travesty not to talk about the locker room in general and this locker room specifically. Mailbag: (57:43 - 1:05:05) We only had time to ask maybe two questions, and there was no following the first question, so we just asked one. But we think you’ll like it. Production Line 3?: (1:05:05 - 1:17:41 ) We take a look back at the Production Line, decide whether or not there was a Production Line 3, and discuss if another line should be the next Production Line. Say Goodbye (Again) to The Joe: (1:17:41 - End) We close with our memories of the arena and then close out the show. Make sure to listen to the outro for a special remix of the theme song. In this impromptu episode, Jay decides to roll solo at the last minute while Kelly is busy doing top secret things in the stadium — deciding to setup the podcast on top The Faction supporter group’s giant Heineken trailer ahead of the match at the Atlanta United FC vs. Sporting KC tailgate. What could possibly go wrong!? Jay convinces Calvin Lasister, a member of the Cauldron (a Sporting KC supporters group), to climb up and join him to talk about how both clubs are currently on top of their respective tables in MLS while on top of a trailer and enjoy a quick chat about the supporter culture in Kansas City. Then Jay tries to shoot his shot for a SECOND time with the Thonton brothers (Tom and Michael) after failing to successfully record their original interview at the All Stripes watch party, and thus never making it into Episode 02. Aaaand then… well… you’ll just have to listen to find out!

Devin and John answer listener questions you've sent in. Arlene wants to know what happens to her debts after she dies. John guesses she is probably asking whether her children will be responsible for those debts. It’s a good question! The short answer is no, but, of course, there is a longer answer. Then Jay wants to talk about a purchase he wants to make. It might be a little extravagant, and his financial advisor is against the purchase. Both Devin and John have seen both sides of this, folks who have spent too much of their retirement, and folks who haven’t spent nearly enough. Devin threw out a possible rule-of-thumb: if the purchase exceeds 5% of your net worth, and your advisors are expressing concern, maybe you need to think a little more.
