Ignacio Torne is a DJ and producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, with over a decade in electronic music. His passion began early, waking up to bolero records and later playing bass in a teenage garage band. A friend's trance-heavy DJ sets introduced him to electronic music, eventually leading him to Progressive House. Influenced by Cattaneo, Digweed, Warren, and Sasha, he's developed a signature sound that continues to evolve. In that time he has played in top Buenos Aires venues like Crobar, Jet, Niceto, and The Bow, and his releases on labels like Motion Recordings, AH Digital, and Massive Harmony reflect his steady rise in the progressive scene. On this Balance Selections mix, the Argentinean artist delivers a smooth, warm set rich with melodic flourishes. Featuring tracks by Kamilo Sanclemente, Mike Isai, Dmitry Molosh, and more, it is a deep progressive set that keeps on delivering. @ignacio-torne

Cat Calabrese harnesses these feelings from her past and puts them in her music while finding a balance of reflecting and moving forward. We also talk about the importance of recognizing success where it is and not being so hard on ourselves. It was truly an honor to finally catch up after over a year of planning this interview! Ayyy SURPRISE we have one more episode for you before we wrap up the year! It's a day before Thanksgiving as this is releasing and we wanted to say how thankful we are for everyone who has listened and supported LG this year. When our first episode dropped in April, we had no idea where this would go next. Putting together a marathon that was supposed to be on the radio and ended up becoming our entire second season was one of the best things that could have happened to us and we are SO EXCITED for even more shenanigans in 2023!After the marathon on 8/18, we were asked by our friend Mikey Silas to do a live recording of the podcast at Crobar in Cleveland on 9/6. This has not been done before at Crobar, nor have we done this before in front of an audience and with our own equipment. We recruited two artists who we thought would be great for this show, Corry Michaels and Dragaan. Both brought their A-game and the live audience loved it as much as we did! Then, to top it all off, we chatted with the new owner of Crobar, Gerad Gudhe in an impromptu interview where we get to learn more about the underground bar itself and the ideas behind it and looking ahead. One thing here: please forgive us for the technical issues that ensued in these last 10 minutes. We ain't saying we're perfect by any means!! Not yet at least...We are truly honored to have made as many connections as we have this year, while hopefully making people smile and learn some new music that's close to home! We will see you next year with a bigger and better season and artists you're going to absolutely love!Something cool is always happening at Crobar any day of the week, check out their website for more information! And if you like what you hear today, follow Corry Michaels and Dragaan on IG, websites here:linktr.ee/dragaanCorry's websitePlease support LG by following to get the latest episodes, leave us a review and/or 5-star rating, and following us on Instagram! He is a man wearing many hats; one as a touring DJ, another as a producer dynamo and lastly as a label boss of Transmit Recordings. A career forged over decades of long nights in the Big Apple's most revered rooms. From the infamous Roxy to Crobar to the once dominating Pacha NY on 46th Street, Boris maintained a following so devout, so loyal they were truly ‘Believers'. Pioneering a music movement in a city filled with those who have so little time to pay attention, Boris has been a production powerhouse when not performing for the masses. He's been tapped by industry leaders such as Carl Cox for his label Intec, Dubfire for his label Sci-Tec, Paco Osuna and his Mindshake records, amongst countless others.

His ability behind the decks and in the studio has not only made him a New York favorite, but his music has taken him places all around the world ranging from the shores of Playa Del Carmen to the magical White Isle known as Ibiza. Known to many as the ‘DJ's DJ', Boris has had the career most DJs can only wish to have.  The trends may change but the New York native has stayed true to his drum driven sounds and created his own niche in the wide and vast world of electronic music. Taking bits and pieces from every part of the globe he visits, Boris always maintains a piece of home in his music. Even though his career spans nearly three decades, the journeyman DJ has yet to falter. We currently find him playing leading to destinations across the globe and his music is in high demand with forthcoming releases of many sought after labels, Boris will is constantly on the tips of the younger generation's tongue. And she's very very good, trust me, my bum cheeks know… Jo has had a truly successful career and over her 29 years behind the decks she has played in pretty much every corner of the globe and in every major nightclub you could care to mention: Space (Ibiza and Miami), Fabric (London) Womb and Aghea (Tokyo), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Warung (Brazil), Cavo Paradiso (Mykonos), Pacha, Crobar and Vinyl (New York), Zouk (Singapore), and Cocoon (Frankfurt,) are just some of the venues she has played in recent years. This interview was recorded just when lockdown was lifting, so some of the lockdown references may seem a touch out of context. I love this interview with Jo, she's extremely warm, good humoured and open, and I thank her for sharing some very moving insights about her life. This interview is a great example of why nightlife culture and music are so important in forming meaningful, inclusive communities, which we discuss while exploring the things she loves… do make sure you subscribe, like and share this podcast with your friends. Welcome back to another Universal Rhythm Session. This week we welcome...ADAM FREEMER. DJ. Producer. Sound Engineer. Not many can claim to be truly successful on "both sides of the mixer", but besides being a world renown dj and producer, Adam has worked on and engineered some of the world's finest nightclub sound systems. His skills are often requested in the studio by other producers wanting to tap into his 15+ years of music production and Pro Tools experience. Adam's maintained consistent support from some of dance music's heaviest hitters such as Danny Tenaglia, John Digweed & Victor Calderone to name just a few. After filling in for Danny Tenaglia at his now infamous “Be Yourself” party at Vinyl, New York and playing at New York staple clubs such as Twilo, Limelight and Sound Factory over 10 years ago, Adam has gone on to tour the world several times over as a dj. With a production career that now spans two decades, Adam's first major release, H2O, was released on TWISTED records back in 2002. H2O featured house legend Alan T. providing the vocal snippet to this club stomping first effort which received support from some of dance music's biggest names of the time such as Anthony Pappa, DJ Vibe, and Tom “Superchumbo” Stephan. Adam has since gone on to release many chart topping singles including Underground Baby! which achieved top 5 download status on Beatport. On the remix front, with multiple Billboard charted remixes under his belt including two #1 Billboard remixes of the legendary Yoko Ono and a long list of remixes by respected names such as DJ Chus, Cevin Fisher, D-Formation and Mistress Barbara, Adam has solidified his standing as a respected dance music producer and re-mixer. In 2008 Adam started his own label, Mecha Recordings and besides releasing his own work, the label has released remixes and singles from artists such as Lance DeSardi, D-Formation, DJ Simi and D-Unity.Across North America, from Stereo, Montreal, Ruby Skye, San Francisco and staple clubs in New York, Miami and his home town of Philadelphia, Adam has been touring as a dj for over 10 years. On a global level, the list is even longer from all over South America to Europe and throughout Asia where he recently visited Womb, Tokyo. Adam continues to evolve as a dj incorporating new sounds into his sets which have their roots in techno, house and soulful deep grooves. With a full-length remix album about to released this Summer on TWISTED and many other remix and original projects in progress, Adam's touring schedule is about to become busier then ever.As a sound engineer, Adam's knowledge spans from engineering tracks in the studio to engineering top notch nightclub audio systems. In recent years Adam's been designing and engineering sound systems around the world and has helped create a resurgence in nightlife in his home town of Philadelphia by bringing quality nightclub audio to the city as never before. He's currently working on his own nightclub project which will take prominence as the premier nightclub & sound system in Philadelphia and also be one of the best nightclub sound systems in North America. We hope you enjoy this mix Adam sent us and remember to hit us up with comments and/or questions about the show or the artists featured. David Lara is a man that has been making major waves in the house scene since his breakthrough at the beginning of 2006. Bursting onto the scene with a bang, David has carved out quite a reputation in this period of time and this looks set to grow and grow. Releases for Steve Lawler's Viva imprint kicked things off, followed by releases with Coyu's much talked about Suara, and the highly successful Neurotraxx in Italy as well as remixes for artists such as Victor Calderone, Chus & Ceballos, D-Formation and lots of more.In 2011 David is one of the producers that is helping re-invent the house sound, and as such his tracks are getting support from all the major players right now. Steve Lawler, Luciano, Carl Cox, MANDY, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Tiefschwarz, Matthias Tanzmann and many more are all fans of David's work, so its not hard to see why people are already talking about him as a present and future star.Born and raised in Madrid, David's obsession with house music started at a young age after discovering the music of Danny Tenaglia, Todd Terry & Laurent Garnier, something he still regards as a major influence on his sound to this day. Djing in Spain from a young age would inevitably lead to production for someone of David's ability. At the age of 25 he took his first steps in the production world. However rather than rush things he knew he needed to hone his talents. Several years of hard work later and he is starting to bear the fruits of this work, and starting to show the world that he means business! With over 10 years experience behind the decks, its not hard to see why David's reputation as DJ, which was outstanding in Spain before his productions broke through, have now skyrocketed in the last 2 years. Already djing in some of the worlds most famous clubs such as Space, Amnesia and Pacha in Ibiza, Ministry Of Sound London, Zouk Singapore, Central Station Moscow, Amagama in Ukraine, Sinners in Bulgaria and many many more. Hope you all enjoy this mix David sent over and remember to hit us up with comments and/or questions about the show or the artists featured. Welcome back to another week in Universal Rhythm Sessions. This week we welcome...DJ Manic!New York native DJ Manic's passion for music and natural ability to DJ, began long before he was of legal age. As a young boy he was inspired to pursue the Music & DJ industry while spending his free time at his uncle's entertainment company. As Manic grew older, he was determined to take his DJ skills to the next level. He was so drawn to this profession, the only place you could find him was analyzing music, mixing and refining his art. It only took a few club appearances for him to earn his nickname: "Manic". The name Manic describes him well because of his unique style: combining a blend of skill, ability to read the dance floor and dynamically control the energy. His particular taste in music allows him to be diverse, exciting and on the cutting edge.As co-producer of the song “Never Ending” along with Ronnie Ventura and Alan Scott Plotkin featuring Latrice Verrett, it debuted at "Hot Shot Breakout" ( #31) on the Billboard Dance charts. Ten weeks strong on the charts, “Never Ending” climbed to #25. Manic once again teamed up with Ventura and Plotkin to co-produce other hits including, “The Freaks” featuring Latrice Verrett and “Music Is Your Life” feat. Dana Devine both which were signed and release on Nuuf Music. With influences from Danny Tenaglia, Sandy Rivera, Dennis Ferrer, Satoshi Tomiie, Louie Vega, David Morales, and Erick Morillo, Manic's DJ sets take the listener on a musical journey through deep and minimal to tribal and vocal house with latin and percussive Afro elements that are guaranteed to make the dance floor groove in perfect unity. Manic has been privileged to share stages with many international stars including: Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Anane Vega, Benji Candelario, Richie Santana, Peter Bailey, Masi & Mello, Chris Moody, Todd Gardner, and many others.Creating, crafting and refining his music everyday, is Manic's drive and soul. Manic still remains close to his performance roots by making regular cameo appearances at some of the worlds most prestigious clubs. When he DJ's, be ready for a night of top-notch cutting edge underground music that will take the dancefloor to the edge.We hope you enjoy this juicy mix filled with lots of dope classic samples and deep groovey tracks to keep your head boppin for sure. Welcome back to another Universal Rhythm Session. This week we feature an NYC favorite, Chriss Vargas. He has been destroying the main dance floor for the past few years at one of NYC's top night clubs, Pacha. This driven talent started his career about a decade ago in the underground EDM scene at various Queens NY night clubs and lounges. During this period he built a huge fan base that ultimately caught the attention of some of NYC's top promoters. This led him to headlining events during the Winter Music Conference in Miami at top clubs like Space, Nocturnal and Karu & Y. He has since played at major venues throughout the northeastern US in places like Cielo NY, Neptunes, Glo LI, Tavern LI, Rise BOSTON, Grand CONN, Arena (Asseteria) NY, Dream LI, Water Taxi Beach NY, Santos NY and many more. But just playing music isn't where he stops, he began to produce his own original tracks to add to his dark tribal tech driven sets. With original releases on Nervous Records, Stereo Productions, Coraza Recordings, KULT Records and more he continues to work hard in the studio always keeping his sets fresh and full of groove. He has collaborated with such artist like Cristian Arango, Jean Pierre, Deka, DJ Boris, Dave Rosario, Abel Ramos and the list continues to grow. The first time I heard Vargas rock was at NY's Water Taxi Beach opening the venue up for the Iberican duo Chus & Ceballo's. Needless to say he caught my ears attention and since then I became a fan and follower. So I hope you enjoy this exclusive Universal Rhythm Session from the very talented Chriss Vargas.
