Practicing Yoga to Improve Self Awareness, Increase Confidence, Reduce Stress, Relieve Tension and Optimize Your Health (Without Attending a Single Class)!!!   Today's conversation is going to be relaxing, soothing and empowering because we are talking about yoga with global wellness expert and founder of Strala Yoga, Tara Stiles. Tara brings a revolutionary approach to being, moving and healing to inspire millions around the world with her relatable perspective with regards to yoga, meditation and movement.    Now before you press pause or exit because you aren't interested in yoga, I invite you to continue to listen to the “Yoga Rebel.”   The New York Times recognizes Tara as such because of her unconventional approach to this sometimes intimidating subject. She isn't into the dogma of yoga or forcing you to do a bunch of poses or making you chant. Again, if that's your jam, no judgment from either one of us. I would say that for most people their resistance to yoga is because of the time commitment, inflexibility, feeling insecure, not feeling aligned with the spirituality aspect, etc.   After hearing today's episode, I can promise you that these challenges will be diminished as Tara's approach is efficient, relatable, empowering and practical for anyone looking to reap the incredible benefits of yoga. Yoga can reduce stress, relieve tension, improve your confidence, help you sleep better, gain flexibility and so much more.    The focus of our discussion today centers around what the average person can do if they want to get started with yoga and incorporate it into their daily routine or regular workout program. We break down the many walls or barriers that I mentioned previously and why spending just a few minutes a day practicing yoga or even taking one breath can be beneficial. Tara shares why “the better you move” within the poses matters more than how far you stretch. We discuss what you can do to reduce tension and stiffness and Tara shares what she does to help manage her stress. We go "all in" on the topic of hot yoga including the dangers and why Tara thinks most people should stay away from it.   Topics discussed:    Tara's backstory and how she got into Yoga   Why "dogma" in yoga turns people away    How to get started with yoga easily and efficiently   Can yoga help heal trauma?   How to relieve daily stiffness and tension   Is it better to stretch more or move better?   All things hot yoga   The dangers of hot yoga   Why Tara thinks people should stay away from hot yoga   What Tara does to manage her stress   How to find a yoga class that's right for you (if you want to attend one)   Incorporating yoga into a daily routine or regular workout program   Connect with Tara:   Website: https://www.tarastiles.com/   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tarastiles/   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TaraStilesOfficial   YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/TaraStilesStralaYoga   Strala Yoga: https://stralayoga.com/   Connect with Doug:   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dougbopst/   Twitter: https://twitter.com/dougbopst   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dougbopst/   Website: https://www.dougbopst.com   More on Earth Echo Foods/Cacao Bliss:   www.earthechofoods.com/dougbopst   Use Promo code "Doug" at checkout to receive 15% off your order

We're talking about building your team today. Have you experienced a nightmare with hiring or managing a team member? Or are you imagining a future nightmare because of what you've heard from your peers? Are you confused about what role you should be hiring for? Or whether it's time to hire? Our guest, Tara McMullin, leads 2 successful companies, and she's about to share her experiences building and managing both of those teams. A bonus treat for me is that she's an introvert, like me, so we get to lean into some particular challenges and solutions for introverted bosses. If you want to hear an earlier episode with Tara from 2 years ago, head to episode 102, which I'll link in the show notes. Tara McMullin is a business strategist, podcaster, writer, and producer. She's the founder & host of What Works, a platform for small business owners building stronger businesses. She's also the co-founder of YellowHouse.Media, a podcast production agency that helps small business owners produce standout podcasts to grow their businesses. Here's some of what we talked about: How she has found her team members without the traditional pathways Why Tara and I agree that you probably shouldn't use a VA agency Finding low-energy and effective ways to introduce your new hire to your company Documenting your processes will help you with onboarding team members Why we should think about operations within our business and products as having huge overlap The liberation Tara experienced when she started hiring employees instead of contractors How the responsibility of running a team helps Tara show up in her business the way she wants to Strategies Tara uses to take time away from her team to do deep work Why you should create an organizational chart even if you're a company of one right now How Tara thinks about whether it's time for you to hire someone or simplify your business Why you might want to hire an extrovert if you're an introvert! Here are some takeaways that particularly stand out to me: Takeaway #1: The team member you are looking for is probably already in your orbit. Tara has found her team members by looking to people she already knew or who were in her network. Takeaway #2: Document everything repeatable that you do in your company so that you can easily share it with a team member. We talked about using the platforms Notion, Clickup, and Google Docs, and most of all, using video through a platform like loom. Takeaway #3: Switching from hiring contractors to hiring employees made a big difference in Tara's experience within her company. She noticed an unexpected level of liberation and feeling supported by her team. Takeaway #4: Even if you're a company of one now, Tara recommends making an organizational chart. That will help you see that you are actually doing many jobs, and it will help you to organize your time, respect your energy limits, and get ready to hire your next team member. Those are 4 of my takeaways. What stood out to you? Did this conversation help you avoid a hiring mistake? Are you thinking differently about your business? Are you surprised by how many jobs you're actually doing? Send me an email at info@coachingwithannie.com. Even better, include a voice memo so I can share your voice on the pod. Welcome to episode 221 of the Sexology Podcast! Today I'm delighted to welcome back Tara Galeano to the podcast. In this episode, Tara talks to me about her new book; “Rediscovering My Body”, how sex can be a form of healing and looking at the processing that needs to take place to heal sexual dysfunction.    Author Tara Galeano has worked with women for over two decades to get their sexy back. She knows that there is pleasure in the body, beyond our wildest dreams, and every woman can access it. In the "Rediscovering My Body" book, Tara teaches women how to show up for pleasure in their lives. She rediscovered her own body after leaving her twenty-five-year marriage. Realizing that she had given so much of herself away, she knew that she needed to come back to the body's inherent wisdom.     Through reconnecting with her body, Tara was able to understand what was right and pleasurable for her, how best to proceed from this wisdom, and most importantly, how to teach these lessons to other women who are clamoring for the same truths so that they too could transform their lives and reclaim their sensuality. Now Tara has embodied this path and is moving forward to share this with women everywhere!    In this episode, you will hear:     Why Tara decided to write her new book “Rediscovering My Body”  Learning to deal with residual emotions   How sex can be a form of healing   The way in which self-love fosters healing   The barriers that get in the way of women experiencing embodiment   How you can change the conversation you have with your body   Reacquainting with your body   Understanding the need to have patience and give yourself time   Overcoming frustration   Working on open communication with your partner  Acknowledging and working on emotions that can resurface   The processing that needs to take place to heal sexual dysfunction         OMGyes   Thank you to our sponsor OMGyes! When podcasters decide to monetize their shows, usually they opt between advertising or community support models.   Brand partnership is the road less traveled, but working with an established company who can support the podcast financially, provide production assistance and promote your content could be a dream-come-true for a podcaster looking for more stability and to grow their own platform.   Today, on Podcast Ally, we’re exploring the question of what it’s like to partner up with an established company to produce your podcast with the help of Tara McMullin.   Tara originally launched the What Works podcast under the name Profit.Power.Pursuit in partnership with CreativeLive. She joined me to talk about how she pitched the idea of a podcast to CreativeLive, her experiences working with them, and why she ultimately decided to become an independent podcaster.   Tara shares the nuts-and-bolts on: How she approached CreativeLive with the idea of starting a podcast together Her advice for finding a brand to partner with The major benefits of co-producing a podcast with the help of an established company Why Tara decided to end the partnership with CreativeLive, and how she approached them to ask for full control of the podcast How she managed the transition to indie podcaster The  way she plans content themes for What Works Why Tara believes you should consider your podcast a product you’re providing to customers How she developed her own skills as a podcast host and producer   Please check out What Works at www.explorewhatworks.com or wherever you listen to podcasts!   I also highly recommend Tara’s podcast production company, Yellow House Media, for anyone who wants help with their own content strategy.

Our 40 Minute Mentor in this episode is the brilliant Tara Lajumoke, Managing Director of FT Strategies’, the Financial Times consulting arm. After starting her career at Goldman Sachs, Tara moved in to consulting at McKinsey where she progressed to Junior Partner before taking the bold and entrepreneurial move in March 2020 to move to FTS. As you’d probably expect, it’s been a roller coaster few months for Tara, walking into a new senior role right at the beginning of a global pandemic and having to juggle this with having a young family, which is something we dive in to in this episode. Outside of work Tara uses the skills she’s learnt from Consulting to help develop the female leaders of tomorrow, working as a Business Mentor at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs. In this episode, we dive into Tara’s story and explore how she’s been able to achieve the things she has, both from a personal and professional perspective, including: - Why Tara decided to leave McKinsey for what many would see as a riskier move and what it’s been like leading FT Strategies through a global pandemic. - The importance of education, why it’s such a big factor in Tara’s life and why it’s a huge focus for the way she’s bringing up her own children. - And we also discuss the Black Lives Matter movement and what companies and individuals can do to make a tangible difference to the cause We have had the pleasure of working with Tara for a little while and we were so excited to get her on our podcast as she is such a positive and down to earth role model. Needless to say, we loved hearing more about her career journey and how she’s managed to achieve so much in her career to date. So whether you work in consulting or you’re just in need of some inspiration from a brilliant leader, this episode is packed full of gems for you to learn from and apply to your own life and career. Antiques expert, designer, and author Tara Shaw joins the show to share her passion for antiques and how to decorate with them in our homes. She talks about sourcing antiques, steps for bringing beautiful pieces in our space, and the inspiration behind her new book Soul of the Home: Designing with Antiques. What You’ll Hear On This Episode: Tara’s new book, Soul of the Home: Designing with Antiques ties in education about designing with antiques and explanations of how furniture that is both old and modern can work together. Take it from us, it will be the kind of book you want to bring out on a relaxing morning and savor with a cup of coffee. Tara’s amazing story of how she made the transition from antique importer to working on Harry Connik Jr.’s home in Connecticut, and how the experience of “doing it afraid” opened the door to take on new clients. How she went to school for education, worked in apparel, and ended up in antiques. What an exponent is, and why personal carvings are so special when shopping for the right antique piece. How Tara’s suggestion of purchasing one nice piece a year can really lead to an entire home of beautiful antiques after some time. Tara’s real confessions on what she keeps for herself, and how she decides just what items she can’t live without personally. Why Tara loves mid-century and how to effortlessly mix different styles of furniture. Why she buys mid century and its a good thing to mix with antiquity so it doesn’t feel stale. A glimpse into Tara’s process of shopping for antique items and bringing them home for her now sought after container parties. Start with one room and an anchor piece. Take a minute to find your voice and be fearless to execute it. How her love of canopy beds and hand forging them keeps artisans in New Orleans employed. Mentioned In This Episode: Tara Shaw Soul of the Home @tarashawdesign Matthew Carter Interiors Decorating Dilemma: We love that you encompass exactly what talk about in this episode - you know what you like and you are fearless about it! This room screams pink and green to Tara, a Palm Beach look that is congruent with the Lily Pulitzer type fabric. It would also look more bespoke if you found trim that you could trim your draperies with, and use a drapery hook with pointy edge rings instead of a clip. Some art that can thread the colors in together would be great, and we love the pink chair.

Tara Mackey has a fascinating story full of peaks and valleys, shifting between periods of abject suffering and astounding success. Today, Tara is standing atop a shining peak: she is the CEO + Founder of The Organic Life, the CEO + Founder of Genetix Skincare, a soul singer, and the #1 best-selling author of “Cured by Nature” and “WILD Habits.” But, as most good stories unfortunately do, it all began in a pretty dark valley. Tara was born with drugs in her body – very literally – and into a home filled with abuse and… well, more drugs. She didn’t fall into using hard drugs, but she was isolated and depressed and struggling to cope with her mother’s addiction. Tara’s grandparents brought her to a psychiatrist and, within 10 minutes, she had her first diagnosis and her first prescription – Lithium. The first of many. By the time Tara was 24, she was on 14 different prescription drugs – then she reached her breaking point. Tara successfully quit all 14 prescriptions cold turkey (which she doesn’t recommend) and started healing her chronic illnesses holistically, a move that drastically changed her life. Now Tara is turning these tragedies into her greatest gifts, converting her suffering into compassion like an emotional alchemist. Tara replaced her addiction with WILDhabits, healing herself from the inside out – and if that works for a body going in and out of the hospital on a monthly basis due to drug complications, can you imagine what it will do for yours? – Luke   Topics Discussed In This Episode: Being born a crack baby Detoxing Reading Tony Robbins as a seven-year-old Why addiction is a family disease, affecting everyone around you Codependence Controlling what you can control (and letting the universe take care of everything else) Why we usually keep repeating the same patterns until some pain forces us to make a change Superficial, outward honesty VS being honest with yourself The overmedication of children Pain & trauma getting misdiagnosed as mental illness The difference between fact and opinion “Shitty life disorder” Diagnosing problems as disorders Negative drug interactions that put Tara in the hospital on a monthly basis, for years Why Tara doesn’t recommend quitting cold turkey Controlling your relationship with other people Why interior design is so powerful Embracing chiropractors The WILD method: Willingness, Intuition, Love, & Discipline Using your story to make the world a better place   More about this episode.   THIS SHOW IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY: ATHLETIC GREENS. 11 supplements in 1!
