Kenya Sheat describes herself a natural born writer and her love of writing was the turning point and therapy she needed to recover her emotional strength when she suffered a breakdown following the death of her much loved Grandma and 2 close friends. It was at the 'rock bottom' moment that Kenya followed the advice of her therapist and turned to her journal.  She began recording her thoughts and feelings and this kept her focused on the things she was grateful for and allowed her to express her emotions in a way that made sense to her.  Kenya says "Writing is how I've been able to handle a lot of things and then reading it back to myself. It helps me to understand exactly what I'm going through. Its one thing to be going through something and people can see what your going through from the outside but by writing it down I'm taking my inside and turning it to the outside. I'm flipping the inside out so I can visually see and better understand." She learned the power of seeing her feelings on the page in front of her and the sense of peace and understanding that came from" When she finished her degree studies Kenya joined corporate America and prepared for the long hours and commitment needed to be successful. But she had a dream to start her own business and took a leap of faith, left her corporate job and started on her entrepreneurial journey.  It was tough and for a while she was homeless and living in a shelter in New York City.  But she know she wasn't meant to stay there and looks back on that time as a necessary part of her journey towards creating her own business but also to understanding herself.

Julie shared some simple tips to help you achieve your financial goals and we talked about the importance of having a goal. Julie's wise words from this show - "For me emotional strength is having fortitude. Being able to deal with whatever comes our way and for me it's this year of travel and changes and it's embracing it that there will be moments.  It's having that trust I guess that faith that it will all work and that I don't have to overthink it. So emotional strength is for me the strength to roll with the punches as to whatever life throws us on any given day. There's something that may creep up that will challenge us in one way or another. So it's knowing it'll all be OK. That's emotional strength. It will all be ok. "

JJ Flizanes is an Empowerment Strategist, author of Fit 2 Love: How to Get Physically, Emotionally, and Spiritually Fit to Attract the Love of Your Life, and host of the Fit 2 Love Podcast Show. She's on a mission to transform the meaning of the word "fitness" to include not just the state of a person's physical body, but also the emotional, mental, and spiritual factors which affect a person's overall well being.  When she was thirteen, and puberty hit she was one of the only girls in class with hips and breasts, and she felt ugly. As a cheerleader for her junior high school, she was considered a "base," because she had hips someone could use as stairs to climb onto her shoulders. She knew from the beginning she was too heavy, too curvy, to experience being a "flyer"—one of the girls on top of the pyramid.   It made her feel ashamed of her body. But, feeling awkward and ugly strengthened her self-esteem, because she felt forced to focus on other aspects of her personality talent and intelligence.  Whilst working in a gym as a receptionist she was inspired to pursue an education in personal training and from the beginning focused on science and how to apply it to her clients bodies to make changes and improvements.  As she learned more about biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and physics, She developed a profound regard for her body for the miracle and perfection it is.  This doesn't mean she always loves the way it looks on the outside! In fact, she's had to learn and keeps practicing the art of loving herself unconditionally. We talked about her holistic approach to exercise and wellness and her new book The Invisible Fitness Formula: 5 Secrets to Release Weight & End Body Shame https://jj-flizanes.mykajabi.com/a/4231/SXY7xaSN I hope you enjoy our conversation Diana x

At the heart of his strategy is the understanding that people and relationships are your true wealth. Jason's passion for his subject is obvious and in our conversation he reflected on an impressive university education that sent him out into the work place with little understanding or appreciation for the power of relationships or the skill of asking the 'right' questions Even though he completed a law degree and masters in communications at one of the top universities in the USA he felt he lacked an understanding of what it is that creates a great relationship and the key to building supportive business and personal connections. He quickly became disillusioned with law and instead began working in Silicon valley learning from the tech industries high flyers but when his relationship with his business partner and longstanding friend fell apart and a series of personal losses and misfortune quickly followed he found himself at rock bottom.
