Estamos de suerte porque hemos vivido otro gigantesco fin de semana de motor, además, en la cuna del automovilismo de competición, como es Silverstone. El primer episodio de la semana del Podcast Técnica Fórmula 1 analiza la victoria gigante de Lewis Hamilton, que atesora ya 9 triunfos en esta pista y que hizo una carrera muy inteligente (él y Mercedes, por supuesto). Esto era lo que queríamos y esperábamos. La verdad es que el GP de Inglaterra nos dejó a todos atónitos con muchos cambios de guión, con la lluvia, con aciertos estratégicos y fracasos estrepitosos. Con tres equipos optando realmente a la victoria, con adelantamientos y persecuciones. No nos ha faltado casi de nada en una carrera que recordaremos mucho tiempo. Mercedes lleva ya dos victorias consecutivas y McLaren, con el que seguramente es el mejor coche de la parrilla ahora mismo, lo pierde todo en los detalles: las paradas y la estrategia. Una vez más, Sainz salvó los muebles de Ferrari, quienes han tenido que volver al coche de Ímola, después de unas monumentales “peoras” en su monoplaza. La historia de siempre, para qué nos vamos a engañar. En el lado de Red Bull, Max sacó petróleo del que ha sido uno de los peores fines de semana del equipo. Además, que lección dio a toda la carroña periodística, que quería sangre después de su toque con Norris en Austria. Él, como un señor, dijo que las habladurías y las críticas no le importaban nada (con peores palabras), pero no así su relación con Norris. Dio la cara hablaron y aclararon todo, pero cuántos clicks han conseguido muchos con la polémica… Los dos Astons puntuaron, por otra parte, después de revertir parte de las mejoras y parece que ya saben dónde están los problemas. Sólo esperamos que no se “ferraricen”. Lo cierto es que el equipo de Alonso es un equipo joven, que no podrá disponer del túnel del viento propio para preparar el coche de 2025, y aún así están consiguiendo mucho. Y, entre otras cosas, están consiguiendo muy buenos profesionales para trabajar en el equipo y desarrollar un gran coche para el futuro. El último, Enrico Cardile, que ha dimitido como jefe de chasis de Ferrari y que parece que recalará en Aston Martin la próxima temporada. Una victoria largamente esperada. Al principio, vimos a tres británicos partir de las tres primeras posiciones en su carrera de casa. Russell, Hamilton y Norris. Max Verstappen salía 4º, mientras su compañero había caído en Q1. La clasificación ya nos dio emoción, con Piastri en 5ª posición y un fortísimo Hülkenberg, con el Haas, en 6º posición. Sainz fue el primero de los Ferrari (7º), seguido de Stroll, Albon y Alonso, que cerraba el top ten. Leclerc volvió a sufrir otro fin de semana para olvidar - le ha salido cara la victoria en casa - y partió desde el puesto 11º. Al final, vimos a un Hamilton grandísimo y muy emocionado, llevándose la victoria del Gran Premio de Gran Bretaña. A un Verstappen que hizo un trabajo enorme con un coche que no era, ni mucho menos, el mejor para esa segunda posición. Finalmente, para cerrar el podio, Norris, que no estaba nada contento, pues tenía un coche para haber optado a la victoria y al que la estrategia, una vez más, le complicó la vida. Como Aston Martin, McLaren es un equipo que aún está aprendiendo y saliendo del agujero en el que estaba y, aunque no son errores fácilmente perdonables, sabemos que tarde o temprano están llamados a subirse a lo más alto y a darnos el espectáculo que esperamos. Welcome to episode 3 of Time On Track, covering round 2 of the Formula 1 season which took place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia this past weekend. In this episode, Ricardo and Blake return to discuss the ever evolving mid and backfield teams still hoping to make an impression, a pair of struggling Ferrari cars, a nearly broken Lando Norris, and much more. The race itself didn't have much drama on its face, but some interesting storylines emerged, as well as confirmation that those Astons are indeed fast race cars. London has been paying the price for Brexit for nearly five years as the uncertainty of the outcome had businesses leaving the UK for a headquarters on the continent. Many companies chose the UK because it is English speaking and has a stable legal and monetary system, while giving those companies full access to the European market under the single pan European economic zone. But then those same businesses faced the prospect of losing access to the vibrant European market by virtue of having located in the UK, many businesses relocated to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Belgium, and Germany. Real Estate prices in London predictably fell hard over the past five years. Here we are in 2021. Real Estate prices are showing a surprising rebound. Is this the same artifact that we have seen during the pandemic where supply of homes for sale diminished significantly? Throughout 2018, 2019 and 2020 we’ve seen one business after another relocate from the UK to other parts of Europe. Some of them relocated to Ireland which remained as part of the European Union. The UK is now divided with one foot inside the European Union and one foot outside. Needless to say, there has been a flight of capital from England to other parts of the UK and to continental Europe. For future for real estate in London looked bleak. Vacancies are up, and commercial vacancies have hit troublesome levels. But then came China to the rescue. You’re thinking wait, what? What does China have to do with England? How can China help UK real estate? Since the new security law was enacted in Hong Kong in 2020, the central Chinese government has taken steps to eliminate dissent. Freedoms in Hong Kong that were taken for granted under British rule are disappearing. The new security law, under which at least 100 people have already been arrested, makes it easier to punish demonstrators and reduces Hong Kong’s autonomy. This month, 47 activists were charged with subversion under the legislation, after a mass arrest in early January. Earlier this year, the Hong Kong government told UK citizens that they will need to choose between the having British status or Chinese status. On March 11, the Chinese central government put another nail in the coffin of freedoms in Hong Kong. But one thing is clear, people from Hong Kong have started arriving in London. They speak the Queen’s English and they are bringing investment dollars with them. There has been a surge in interest in London real estate from Hong Kong over the past year. According to Astons, Hong Kong residents represented the second-largest foreign buyer group in prime central London in the first three quarters of 2020. They accounted for 9.2% of foreign property purchases and spent an estimated £305.5 million across 243 transactions—or roughly £1.19 million (US$1.67 million) per property. So far in the second half of 2020, property prices in London edged up about 17,000 pounds. That’s not a huge increase, but its a reversal of the previous trend over the past four years. Pay close attention to geopolitical migration.

On the 2nd January, 2021 Firefighter Aston Everett set off for work, leaving his wife and three children at home. He never returned.Whilst on duty that day, an aneurysm in Aston's brain burst. Gene Loves Jezebel special with Michael Aston in conversation with David Eastaugh Originally called Slav Aryan, Gene Loves Jezebel was formed in 1980 with the Aston brothers, guitarist Ian Hudson, bassist Stephen Davis and drummer Snowy White. The Astons grew up in Cornelly, and later Porthcawl, in Wales, and moved to London in 1981. With a new home, and shortly afterwards, the new name, the trio, with bassist Julianne Regan and drummer James Chater (later replaced by John Murphy (the Associates and Richard Hawkins), played several live shows and were signed by Situation Two. Gene Loves Jezebel underwent numerous lineup changes between 1981 and 1985. In May 1982, Situation Two released Gene Loves Jezebel's demo and single, "Shaving My Neck". The band then added keyboardist Jean-Marc Lederman. Regan left the band within a year to form All About Eve, leaving Ian Hudson briefly playing bass and Albie DeLuca as the guitar player until Stephen Marshall joined. In 1983, the band released two more singles, "Screaming (For Emmalene)" and "Bruises", and then their first album, Promise , which peaked at number 8 in the UK Indie Chart. In 1984, the band recorded a John Peel radio session for the BBC and toured the U.K. with fellow Welsh artist John Cale. The band's second album, Immigrant, was released in mid-1985. However, at the start of a long American tour for Immigrant, founding member Ian Hudson left the band and was replaced by former Chelsea and Generation X guitarist James Stevenson (who later also played rhythm guitar on tour with the Cult).
