Examine the 1872 Skeleton Cave Massacre in Arizona's Salt River Canyon, where U.S. forces under Lt. Col. George Crook attacked Yavapai families sheltering in a cave, resulting in approximately 76 deaths, primarily women and children. This episode analyzes the event through the lenses of moral injury to soldiers, the dynamics of asymmetrical warfare in rugged terrain, and how dehumanizing perceptions of the “enemy” enabled lethal force against non-combatants. Essential listening for military historians, ethicists, psychologists, students of American history, and those exploring the psychological and ethical costs of frontier conflict.

Today, we're diving deep into the intricate world of Iran's asymmetric warfare, specifically focusing on how they're using cyber capabilities to bolster their military operations. As global tensions rise, understanding this strategy is vital, especially as we reflect on the ongoing conflict that ignited on February 28, 2026, often referred to as the 2026 Iran War.From the outset of this conflict, it has become evident that Iran is not just relying on traditional military tactics; they are heavily leveraging cyber warfare to gain the upper hand. Talk Back to MeWe can become lost in tribal arguments or we can look at the Minnesota ICE shooting to better understand asymmetrical warfare. In this episode we introduce a thought experiment where the line between combatant and non-combatant gets blurred. A common tactic of asymmetrical warfare is to leverage public opinion through potentially deceptive media to garner animosity against the opposing force. Through this tactic, a militarily inferior force may cripple a superior army by inspiring domestic opposition to military action, turning the local or resident populace against the actions of the dominant force. The objective of asymmetrical warfare isn't to win a decisive victory on the battlefield, but through inspiring revolutionary action in the resident populace, legitimate or otherwise. --Find the Squid Scrim Kit at www.axladvanced.comSupport the REDACTED Culture Cast at redactedculture.locals.comSSP and boutique products at redactedllc.comFollow us on Instagram at @redactedllc

The Clay Edwards Show episode features host Clay Edwards discussing a range of topics, starting with an announcement about ending Facebook streaming due to AI moderation issues and recommending alternatives like YouTube, Rumble, and X. He covers the alleged stabbing deaths of director Rob Reiner and his wife in their Brentwood home, with their son as a suspect, while praising Reiner's films like The Princess Bride and A Few Good Men despite political differences. Edwards touches on sports, including a recommendation for the Stuart Scott 30 for 30 documentary Booyah, and reflects on 1990s culture. Political rants include criticism of left-wing rhetoric, a DoorDash driver accused of tampering with food, accusations of racism in Pantone's "Color of the Year," and asymmetrical warfare in media and culture.
CONTINUED The rebels utilized successful asymmetrical warfare, operating from underground tunnel systems and ambushing Roman forces. The conflict was so severe that Hadrian deployed reinforcements from across the empire, including Britain, and the Roman army was badly mauled. The revolt ended bloodily at the stronghold of Betar. As lasting punishment for centuries of trouble and rebellion, the Romans renamed the province from Judea to Syria Palestina. Pockets of resistance continued, notably the Gallus Revolt in 351–352 AD. In this episode of the Ascend to the Great Books podcast, Deacon Harrison Garlick welcomes back Grayson Quay to discuss his new book, 'The Transhumanist Temptation.'The conversation delves into the ideological roots of transhumanism, its implications for humanity, and the historical context that has led to its rise. Quay emphasizes the importance of teleology in understanding human nature and critiques the modern conception of freedom as it relates to technology. The discussion also touches on the challenges posed by technology, the influence of Nietzsche, and the need for a moral framework to navigate the complexities of modern life. Visit thegreatbookspodcast.com for our reading schedule.NEXT WEEK we start our study on Plato!Summary of BookFrom the dawn of creation, the serpent's whispered lie—“ye shall be as gods”—has echoed through history, and today it manifests itself in the growing transhumanist movement. Our world stands at a crossroads with commercial surrogacy, genetic engineering, artificial intelligence, and “gender-affirming care” threatening to radically reshape human nature. Will we stand firm on ancient wisdom or risk losing our humanity altogether?Grayson Quay deftly overturns the lies of transhumanism and cautions readers about the dystopian brave new world that has already arrived and will only get worse. And yet, he argues, transhumanism has more to do with philosophy than technology. As the Levant once again gathers the attention of the world, we have an opportunity to learn about not only how wars are fought, but how those similarities are repeated the world over. Israel, being considered a nation-state, is expected to engage in regular warfare, against an opponent not held to the same standard in political discourse. The importance of this war remains immensely personal to some, but to all, it serves as a model by which to understand one form of asymmetrical warfare. And when we look into the history of war, it's not as unusual as the media portrays. Whether we look at how Special Operations engage in war, or at the history of American warfare, we find similar examples of irregular warfare as a means to an end.
