As she turned 39, Dearing, then single, realised time was running out to have a child. She was working in Geneva in a commodity trading house and was “busy, busy, busy,” she says. “I always worked hard and played hard and travelled a lot . . . But I never really felt like I had a purpose.” Then a friend suggested she have a baby. The Last 28 Years of Us The last 28 years (or there abouts) of zombie films have really changed the face of the genre. With the introduction of fast zombies, and then the addition of different zombie types; like Rage monsters, infected, fungus monsters, behemoths, clickers, alphas, etc... we have come a long way from the barely threatening shambling shufflers of yesteryear. We're not even confined to the big screen any more, with Zombies being perfect fodder for prestige TV, as well as cinema screens. Two watershed moments are our topic for discussion in this show; the continuation of the genre re-defining 28 Days later series and the second season of the Televisual video game adaptation tour-de-force series The Last of Us. In this episode both Dion and Jill are your designated survivors, while Quinny and Peta both try to outrun hordes of zombies in very different parts of the world. Synopsis It's been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped from a biological weapons laboratory. Still living in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amid the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily defended causeway. Health secretary Wes Streeting has set out three big shifts the NHS must deliver – including moving from analogue to digital. National strategy on health technology and digital is developing at pace, with a 10-Year Plan for the NHS expected to set out new priorities in the spring. Today, acute pressures on health and care services, demographic headwinds and trends in disease burden mean there's an imperative to deliver at pace. Ryan Dearing | FCA Baseball/DG Area Reprdearing@fca.org | (509) 551-5277I am from Kennewick Washington and played for two years at Columbia Basin Community College where I got to help start the FCA Huddle there.  I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with degrees in Youth Ministry and Spiritual Formation. I was blessed to play Baseball there for 3 years which included playing outfield on the 2021 World Series team where NNU finished 5th in the country! The Lord used all these things to help me gain experience in FCA. I attended the NW FCA Sports Camp the summer of 2019 as a Huddle Leader, and served at that Camp for 5 summers! I was also blessed to serve at the NNU FCA Huddle as Huddle Leader. Today's guest knows a thing or two about endurance, both in and out of the world of swimming. Get ready to meet the inspirational marathon swimmer, Alice Dearing.  Alice has been swimming since the age of four, and at the Tokyo Olympics became the first Black woman to compete in an Olympic swimming event for Team GB. It has taken 125 years from swimming's Olympic debut in 1896 for this to happen, so let's just let that sink in for a second and ask why? Well in this episode, Alice shares some insight on the racism that has prevented black people from accessing the world of swimming.  Alice isn't just a game-changer in elite sport, she is also trying to change swimming at grassroots level too, by co-founding The Black British Swimming Association, which she hopes will reverse the statistics that 95% of black adults and 80% of black children do not swim.  It doesn't stop there, Alice has co-created the very first swimming hat designed specifically for Black hair, something that is vital for representation in swimming, a place which hasn't always made space for Alice.
