Memories of a 1997 Bobby Hoying comeback win against Cincinnati are here to wake you from your doldrums. Strap in, it's a solo episode this time around, and it's about a shooting star that came and went to fast. Bobby Hoying now goes by Bob Hoying, and 1998 has something to do with it. On this pod, in no particular order, I cover LA homelessness, interacting with my fans on social media, someone making up stuff on Bobby Hoying's wikipedia, Vince Papale, Mad Men not having real jobs, changing your name after failure, why Cruella sucks, name-dropping, Eagles fullback Kevin Turner, and resenting your own personal growth. My friend Gary DeNoia drops in, so please follow him on Insta. I just did my friend Brad Stoll's podcast Only Farts; watch the interview here and follow his Tik Tok. This episode of Bring In The Backups is brought to you by Essentials By Gabi.
Zack and T.J. discuss an embarrassing weekending in Baltimore for the Indians (and Zack's inability to catch a foul ball), Bobby Bradley's arrival and Cleveland's decision to DFA Jake Bauers and MLB's impending battle against sticky substances and how it impacts spin rate. The Cartoncasters were ready for Calvin & Hobbes style imagination zones. They were ready for canned 80's sitcom laugh lines. They were even ready for flagrant Minnesota accents. But when they showed up to meet Bobby, they realized that Howie Mandell was just a step too far over the line. Never again, folks.

Whether or not you're a child of the 1990s, you can probably appreciate the adorable cuteness of Bobby Generic, the lead character of Bobby's World. It might creep you out a little bit to learn that the Fox Kids' animated series co-creator Howie Mandel wasn't just the voice of dad Howard Generic, but also Bobby as well. (He also voiced Gizmo in the Gremlins movies, so that cutens things up a bit, yeah?) But since we're keeping it creepy, we wanted to revisit the spookiest stories in Bobby's World lore for this special Halloween episode of the podcast. Just how scary did the Minnesota-Nice family get, anyway?Over the course of the Emmy-nominated animated series' seven-season run to syndication, Bobby's World included a couple of Halloween-themed episodes. For this episode of the podcast, we revisited the Season 1 episode "The Night of the Living Pumpkin" and the Season 2 episode "Nightmare on Bobby's Street." I can absolutely recommend revisiting Bobby's World for yourself, especially these holiday-themed episodes, but you'll have to tune in to see if my co-hosts feel the same way!-Support the Show through Patreon:https://www.patreon.com/saturdaymourningcartoons-Special Guest: Tony Lazzeroni!Twitter: @CrwddElvtrhttps://vimeo.com/crowdedelevatorWant to find our cohosts online?Dave Trumborecollider.com/author/dave-trumboreTwitter: https://twitter.com/DrClawMDBuy the book 'The Science of Breaking Bad' - https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/science-breaking-badSean Paul EllisIG and twitter @seanpaulellisPerformer at Washington Improv Theater where you can find tickets and times. The Bureau podcast: https://tunein.com/podcasts/Comedy-Podcasts/The-Bureau-p1290704/If you are digging our show and want to help you out, then you can do so in the following ways:1. Episode #169: Bobby's World - "The Smell of a Tattletale" Release Date: September 16, 2019 Patrick and Kat decided it was time to revisit their childhood animation faves and went with Bobby's World, a fun show that involved Howie Mandel and young boy with a vivid imagination. In this episode, Bobby is accused of being a tattletale. Plus, we dream cast the live action revival of adult-era Bobby's World... and Doug for some reason, also. Conversation #180, recorded on September 12, 2019. Howie Mandel probably has universal name recognition, clocking in hundreds of hours on TV and working over 40 years in the game of stand-up comedy. He's spent the past 10 years as a judge on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, his game show DEAL OR NO DEAL was recently revived on CNBC and he just recorded his first stand-up special in 20 years called HOWIE MANDEL PRESENTS HOWIE MANDEL AT THE HOWIE MANDEL COMEDY CLUB. Currently, he's opening up about his battle for heart health with the TAKE CHOLESTEROL TO HEART campaign that aims to save lives and educate the world on their options. Learn more about Howie's story at takecholesteroltoheart.com Plus, we get into the conversation of reboots and revivals - could more Bobby's World be on the way? Hail Satire! is hosted and produced by Vic Shuttee. Thanks to Robert Price for our original theme music and Brendon Duran for the Hail Satire! logo design.
Hey boys and girls! Drunk Netflix Reviews is back! This month the guys review the 80s classic Phoebe Cates... I mean Gremlins. You remember that film. It's that Christmas movie with those cute little Furbies voiced by the dude from Bobby's World that start murdering people, because they ate too much chicken. And according to Nate and no one else ever, it has the best theme song ever written. So put on your Christmas jammies, grab yourself a drink and give our latest review a spin. Did I mention Phoebe Cates is in this film?

No more Mr. Nice Guy, maniacs, because this week we're talking the 1989 Wes Craven flick Shocker! This one is really bizarre but has a killer soundtrack. While we talk about all that, we also discuss drive-thru pranks, Bobby's World, and this film's similarities to A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of the brand new podcast Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: A Silver Spoons Podcast. S1E1: The Pilot Airdate: September 25, 1982 In this episode Millionaire Edward Stratton III, an overgrown child on the verge of bankruptcy, learns that he has a son, Ricky, from a previous marriage. I enjoying covering this podcast episode and the chemistry between Ricky Schroder and Joel Higgins is both phenomenal and magnetic. They really click. If you watched The Wonder Years you’ll recognize Lou as Coach Cutlip. Erin Gray as Kaye Summers is the voice of reason with Edward basically telling him to man up and being what Ricky needs, a father. Leonard Lightfoot as Edward’s advisor helps keep him grounded and his feet on the ground and trust me Edward needs all the help he can get between Kate, Ricky, and Leonard. Jason Bateman as Derek even though we saw him for only a moment can already tell he seems like the male version of Margaux Kramer from Punky Brewster. Derek’s hard words might hurt Ricky but really whatever he dishes out, Ricky gives back double. Next week on the podcast I'll be covering S1E2: Boys Will Be Boys, which aired on October 2, 1982. In this episode Ricky is pleased that Edward lets him get away with everything - until Derek tells him it means he doesn't care about Ricky. Edward has to show Ricky that his relaxed attitude toward discipline doesn't mean that he doesn't love him. I know I’m gonna have a great time covering this show and hope you all have a fun time listening! If you wanna reach out to me in regards to the show, you can do so at the podcast’s new email address silverspoonspodcast@gmail.com. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, WHERE IS SKEETER?! Matt and Eileen still have no idea where Skeeter is, so they brought in Gilli Nissim (UCB Theater) to help them solve this mystery. The three of them watched the 16th episode of The Muppet Babies ("Fozzie's Last Laugh") to look for clues. Along the way, they discuss whether or not Nanny is just a landlord, Bobby's World, who shot J.R., and maybe, just maybe, where Skeeter is. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
It's not about one particular title on this week's episode of HDYR, it's about an experience - Saturday Morning Cartoons. We're going back to the days of waking up early, pouring a bowl of your favorite cereal, and navigating between each network's line-up of shows. A lot of these have come up in passing before and many of them have been requested over the years as well, but we thought this would be a fun way to cast a wide net and cover as many of them as possible in one go. You'll hear about some of our favorites, we'll read through your responses, and then it all winds down with a Real Life Retweets segment about which universes you'd have crossover. Topics include: way too many to name! The Real Ghostbusters, Eek! The Cat, Garfield, He-Man, Jem, Transformers, Beetlejuice, Muppet Babies, Animaniacs, Batman, Sonic the Hedgehog, X-Men, Ninja Turtles, Bobby's World, DuckTales, ThunderCats, M.A.S.K., and so much more! Seriously. Soooo much. iTunes / Stitcher / RSS / Facebook / Twitter / Instagram About The Show

Nineties Cartoons day is a very dangerous day. This week Kyle and Matthew take a nostalgic trip into the Aaahh!!! real animated world of '90s cartoons with comedians Keith Carey and Anna Valenzuela. But Keith has no remorse for Kyle's house being destroyed after Kyle mentions he had the Real Ghostbusters firehouse playset. Also, Kyle and Anna chat about "Denver, the Last Dinosaur" and his lasting presence on Spanish TV. (It's kind of like if Morrissey were a dinosaur that liked to skateboard.) In what was to be a quick filler episode for this "30 Days of Podcasting" we are doing, quickly turned into one of the funniest things we've put out on the interwebs since launching! The Plot. Talk Cartoons. If you'll remember a few episodes back, we talked The 50 Greatest Cartoons! Well, it took so long that we skiped #30-#10. Picking back up where we left off... we get sidetracked almost immediatley. We quickly learn that Bibbles must have lived under a rock, though that doesn't stop us from making fun of him. We love him, it's ok! Oz gives us his College thesis on "The Tick" and Ginger recalls a childhood friend with a possible "Closed Head" injury who used to eat his cats and once gave a 20 minute "Specific Sex Education" class for no reason at all...complete with visual instructions! ...back to more cartoons! A 3.5 Hour Podcast after Returning from the Christmas Break?! It must be the Will of Stein's Gate! For the first cast of the New Year, Nintendo Free Radio enforced their resolution by bringing on a forum guest for the whole show. Stephen, Austen and Donald are joined by Remus "RazorKid" Harris for a Longcat-Sized New Business. Remus brings the love for classic Carroll with Alice: Madness Returns, modern platforming in Rayman Origins, and the taste of flesh with ZombiiU. Donald picks up the baton of the undead with Glitch... Walking Dead (XBLA) and fires off his Christmas bounty before the unexpected golden shower of New Super Mario Bros 2. Austen goes to town with Eh-pic Meh-ckey 2 and gives us a Disaster: Day of Crisis update (bearrorist threat level: red) before visiting the butcher in adventure game/dating sim Pandora's Tower and dropping a Vita doubleshot of Little Big Planet and DJMax Technica Tune. Stephen ends the round by providing the Western interpretation of giant robots in MechWarrior Online, wiping out Danica Patrick in Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed and takes notes on EscapeVektor and Gunman Clive, before answering the most important question of all: What is this thing that took up the Vita's 15 minutes at Sony's E3 2012 show, the Wonderbook? If you survive past Now Posted, or became part of the undead in the process, the second half loads up on 80s and 90s nostalgia. Whatcha Watchin' opens with Remus's classic cartoon duo of Bobby's World and Akagi as well as touching base on 80s cartoons (cowabunga!), while Donald has the legend of Bo Jackson and survived Christmas at Ground Zero with the two good Home Alones and nerd blackface sitcom Big Bang Theory. Stephen boldly goes where nobody has gone before with Star Trek: The Next Generation and shows that sometime it's better to get money for nothing with Undercover Boss, while Austen goes Back In Time with Steins;Gate (yes, that spelling is correct) and doesn't Start The Fire with Shakugan no Shana Season 2 (tempting though it might be). An unexpectedly heated Feature Discussion springs from Remus's simple question: How has gaming changed for you since you were a kid? As usual, the Mushrooms provide the seventh course of this podcast feast, with hatred for GOTY selections and excessive hype balanced by a side of Christmas and film restoration love. You can send your feedback by email to nintendofreeradio@gmail.com, leave a comment here or hit the hosts on Twitter (@donaldmick, @cericme, @broodwars64 and the guest @remus.harris). We're always looking for volunteers for the fourth chair, so let one of the regulars know if you're interested! But we will warn you... a long cast is LONG. This show was edited by Austen Parkin and Stephen Shook. All music used under Fair Use permission. NOTE: After receiving feedback on the original version of this episode, we have made adjustments to the audio mix & replaced the old episode with this new one. We hope you enjoy it!
