Hello everyone and welcome back to Journal Updated! This month, we talk a little bit about Minecraft Pokemon and Nora's thoughts about Dragonlance--but the star of the show is the 2011 action platformer Alice: Madness Returns! Join us as we dig into the twisted fantasies of the titular Alice as she tries to piece together her own mind...
Time to slap some beyond meat on the grill and cook up a sizzling mixtape. That's right, it's time for another Beyond 16-Bit episode where the boizz get to share tracks that wouldn't normally be LMH legal. Starting things off is a beautiful and haunting gothic piece from Alice: Madness Returns. Following that is "Robot Factory (Chapter 6)" from the incredibly bonk soundtrack
Welcome to Season 5 of Chatsunami! In this episode, I am joined by the wonderful WysteriaMoth to discuss a game from the mind of American McGee, that being Alice: Madness Returns. This week Dr. Syintist, Chump Slap, and Poppascotch watched a video game movie about a hidden gem called Alice: Madness returns. It was good. Come hear us talk about it!
Took us 5 years but we finally went back to the Alice Series to cover the sequel to a beloved PC game. Alice Madness Returns is a dark twisted game and a wonderful sequel. We might never get that third game in the trilogy, but is a very cool experience. This platformer is a wonderful dark mixture of platforming and combat, that works extremely well together. Come listen to what we think. Starring Mike Albertin, Cody Laveau, and Michael Colby. Ben and Star host 2VP this week, so shake off that tired feeling, take a moment to collect yourself, and be cool… daddy-o! There are lots of definitions to cover before getting in to the conversation. From music to an artistic subculture movement to one of Ben's favorite BMW “comercials,” there is much to talk about. Star teaches Ben about Taylor Swift and a couple of Generation Z phrases. Ben gets really excited about being able to do his oddly specific Bob Dylan impression, and bringing up his favorite movie director. Games discussed in this episode include “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” “Hogwarts Legacy,” “Pacific Drive,” “Ultros,” “Cadence of Hyrule,” “Crypt of the Necrodancer,” “Alice: Madness Returns,” and “Hi-Fi Rush” 00:00:21 - Again with the third person, the unspoken bond, and TLoZ: Tears of the Kingdom 00:03:48 - Andrew's side quest, Star tried unique Japanese Pringles, and too many ducks 00:05:18 - Ben talks about Pacific Drive, Star's PS5 goals, and a playable acid flashback 00:09:43 - Borscht ingredients, Ben's poetry decade, the subjectivity of art, and time signatures 00:12:20 - Buckle your notebook, club or whip, and off brand Duck Hunt, and MatPat's show 00:15:47 - More verbs, birds flying, cooking, sailing, and Star explains “bro boats” to Ben 00:18:47 - On to the nouns, Star doesn't know “cop speak,” a surprise, and back to Beatniks 00:20:59 - “Old timey” phrases, of German origin, word confusion, and our music choice bpm 00:23:51 - The solicitation purr, Ben's cat impression, and the “Intro to Rhythm” class final 00:26:40 - Cowbells at daybreak, even for a Canadian, and an excuse for Swiftie Star 00:29:17 - Taylor Swift's latest album, Patti Smith, “No tea, no shade,” and 100 percent 00:34:37 - Trading friendship bracelets with 12 year olds, and Ben's FAVORITE impression 00:36:03 - Beyoncé and the West drama, “Beat the Devil,” and Star summarizes Alien 00:41:44 - Tony Scott movies, the original “True Romance” ending, and on to video games 00:44:07 - The “Crypt of the Necrodancer” franchise and the connection to Hi-Fi Rush 00:46:45 - On paper, mediocre 2-D platform elements, and Chai's backstory and origin 00:50:25 - Beautiful visuals, no target locking, feels very linear, and uninspired boss fights 00:54:41 - No “real” replay value, great music (but not enough), and angry dance music 00:56:50 - A difference in opinion on Ye, no actual wives were harmed, and keeping time 00:59:18 - Star's better final thought, beating the mulch, and a hitman for slumlord Tom Nook Follow Two Vague on… Our website: https://www.twovaguepodcast.com On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/two_vague_podcast On YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@twovaguepodcast For show appearance and other inquiries, contact us at: twovaguepodcast@gmail.com References, Links, and Tags Ben recommends checking out this awesome game… “Pacific Drive” developed by Ironwood Studios https://www.pacificdrivegame.com/ #Podbean #DIYPodcast #ApplePodcast #VideoGames #Trivia #Comedy #Talkshow #2VP #TwoVaguePodcast #PodernFamily #InterviewShow #GamersofThreads #Gamer #IronwoodStudios #KeplerInteractive #Ultros

Alice takes her trauma back to Wonderland. The Xbox Game Pass “Surprise Me” button has indeed surprised us with its selection of this 2011 third-person adventure game developed by Spicy Horse and published by Electronic Arts. Originally released on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, this sequel to American McGee's Alice is definitely among the oldest games our hosts have been tasked with playing for this program. After over a decade, will the design and mechanics still hold up or will this game prove better off forgotten like Alice's traumatic memories? Join Tom and Chris as they discuss their first hour with the game and discover if they will continue their adventures in Wonderland or if they are ready for this tea party to end. What do you think? Welcome back (again) everyone! We genuinely apologize for our first attempt at this episode not being up to our standards, so let's try this again! Niki is still very much busy so this time around we brought on and amazing friend and guest of ours, Rebekkah from Thrice Cursed Podcast! Ty begins with a very distracted tale of Sea of Theives, and Rebekkah comes in clutch with her telling of Alice: Madness Returns. (One of Niki's personal Favorites!) Telling tales and weaving plots was always second nature for Mueller growing up. After college Mueller decided to go from telling and dabbling in plots to actually getting a novel out there in the world. After many cups of coffee later, and several dead red pens, there was success. Aside from writing, the author also enjoys reading a wide variety of books and has even joined in helping others with the writing process by alpha and beta reading. When not part of the written world, Mueller can also be found playing action/adventure games, rpgs, sandbox, and nonsense games. Some of her favorites include. Skyrim, Alice: Madness Returns, Splatoon, Fat Princess, Stardew Valley, and the Legend of Zelda series. Updates on future books, events, and giveaways can be found at https://linktr.ee/j.e.mueller

This week Jonathan Dunn sails towards the end of his time with Paper Mario: The 'Orange Army' King lumping high praise on Mario's latest papery adventure. Minty Booth swings back towards loving rather than loathing the same title, allowing it to leap frog the inconsistent Colour Splash in his hypothetically revised list. Christopher Dow nears the end of Alice: Madness Returns, and revisits Deadly Premonition for some Lynchian spooks.Want to know our 28th favourite games of all time?Minty gardens his way to sweet victory in Viva Piñata, Rare's gorgeous 360-era animal management simulation.Chris feels embarrassed discussing his relatively miniscule time with the smorgasbord of content and riches that is The Binding of Isaac when viewed against Jonathan and Minty's playtime and mastery.Jonathan finds a magic coin and wishes the sumptuous Rayman into his childhood possession.Top banana.— — — — —Massive thanks to our Patreon subscribers Andy Smith, Gene Limbrick, CJ Anderson, Debbie Booth, Guy Lochhead and Jasper Blacketer.Watch our video content on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3dZ2gmgHelp support us in exchange for some incredible perks: www.patreon.com/ourthreecentsBrowse the episodes from Season 1: www.ourthreecents.co.ukJoin in the conversation with us: www.facebook.com/ourthreecentsReach out to us individually:Jonathan - www.twitter.com/jonathandunnChris - www.twitter.com/Chas_HodgesMinty - www.twitter.com/clement_boo

The Partynerdz discussed CULT FOLLOWINGS and the fanbases that fuel them!! From movies like Rocky Horror Picture Show to TV Shows like Firefly and games like Alice: Madness Returns, cult followings have been the lifeblood for many of these franchises and we will discuss the different ones this evening! .
We reconvene to discuss fighting games of all shapes and sizes as well as the looming spectre of loot boxes’ nefarious ends. Epic Games marches across the gaming landscape, swallowing as many exclusives and studios as they can. Is this good for devs? Is this bad for consumers? All we can say for certain is it’s a weird time for games, with the console wars seemingly subsiding only to reemerge on PC. Games include Pop’n Music 14 FEVER!, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat 11, Injustice 2, Hypnospace Outlaw, Undertale, Artifact, Brawl Stars, Sunset Overdrive, and Alice: Madness Returns. Got a question for the show?
