“Would you become a tattletale if it meant pocketing nearly a million dollars?” That's the provocative question at the heart of this episode of The Sandy Show, where hosts Sandy McIlree and Tricia dive into the wild world of high-stakes snitching, viral lottery fever, and the quirky moments that make everyday life unforgettable. This episode kicks off with Sandy's hilarious confession about a Christmas present inspired by the middle finger and a playful debate over the true value of Little Debbie Christmas tree cakes. As the conversation unfolds, listeners are treated to a blend of humor and real-life dilemmas—from the skyrocketing Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots to the lengths people will go for a chance at fortune. But the real jaw-dropper comes when Sandy and Tricia explore New York City's now-canceled “tattletale bounty” program, where ordinary citizens earned staggering sums—like $895,737—just for reporting idling cars. “If I could make that kind of money, I might step into snitch world,” Sandy admits, while Tricia stands firm: “There's no price. I could be a rat. $800,000. I am not going to be a rat.” Their banter brings both laughter and reflection on the ethics of snitching and the surprising ways people chase easy money. Throughout the episode, Tricia's infectious excitement over growing lottery jackpots and her candid stories about family, favorite drinks, and the challenges of raising a “snitch-hearted” daughter add warmth and relatability. Listeners also get a taste of pop culture nostalgia, from birthday shout-outs to the cancellation of MTV's “Ridiculousness” after 46 seasons. Notable moments include:Sandy's playful negotiation with his daughter over a hypothetical $800 million lottery win.The revelation of “snitch kings” earning life-changing sums for reporting idling cars.Tricia's heartfelt advice on when to speak up and when to “mind your business.”The quirky tradition of “air gongers” and shout-outs to the show's youngest fans.Whether you're here for the laughs, the life lessons, or the chance to win big, this episode delivers a perfect blend of entertainment and insight. Memorable Quote:“If I could make that kind of money, I might step into snitch world. I just might.” – Tricia“There's no price. I could be a rat. $800,000. I am not going to be a rat.” – Sandy Call to Action Love what you hear? Al and Zach kick things off by playfully debating the biggest Robertson “tattletale,” with Jase catching most of the friendly fire. Christian Huff admits he's not a fighter, and John Luke says he might be able to take his younger, much bigger brother, Will. The guys trace Joseph's story, from the colorful coat that annoyed his eleven brothers to the Egypt years. John Luke reflects on Joseph's naïveté throughout his journey, from being sold into slavery as revenge to becoming one of the most powerful men in Egypt. Zach illustrates how a family feud becomes a family rescue and how this line ultimately sets the stage for Jesus, the Lion of Judah. Many veterinary teams have one: the colleague who runs to management about every minor mistake or late trash bag. But when does necessary reporting turn into destructive tattling? This week on The Veterinary Viewfinder, Dr. Ernie Ward and Beckie Mossor, MPA, RVT, unpack one of the profession's most frustrating dynamics: coworkers who undermine team culture by excessive fault-finding. Hosts Dr. Ward and vet tech Beckie Mossor examine how tattletale behavior often stems from insecurity, perfectionism, or even underlying issues like OCD, yet still chips away at psychological safety and trust. They discuss the difference between legitimate reporting and gossip, and why managers must address patterns early before morale collapses. Ignoring the issue doesn't make it go away; it drives good employees out while problem behavior festers. Listeners will learn practical strategies, such as anonymous “concern boxes,” structured feedback models (SBI: Situation, Behavior, Impact), and defining gossip as “talking to someone who can't solve the problem.” The hosts also share real-life examples where unchecked tattling escalated into fractured teams, cover-ups, and even departures of top performers. Whether you're a manager navigating a chronic complainer or a technician tired of walking on eggshells, this episode offers valuable insights and practical tools to help you reclaim a healthier clinic culture. Because in veterinary medicine, trust isn't optional; it's the foundation of patient care. #VeterinaryPodcast #VetMed #VetClinicLife #VetTechLife #VeterinaryLeadership #ClinicCulture #TeamMorale #FeedbackMatters #NoMoreTattletales #StopTheGossip #HealthyWorkplace #VeterinaryCommunity
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of She's A Small Wonder: A Small Wonder Podcast. Well, after 6 years of covering all the episodes of the show Small Wonder, we've finally reached the end of the Series with the four final episodes of Season 4. Today, I covered S4E21: The Tattletale, which aired on April 29, 1989. In this episode a gossip reporter reveals Vicki's secret. I was a little surprised by this episode, because I just assumed the reporter was a woman, when it turns out to be someone who went to college with Ted and Joan. This was creative and had Harriet, Jamie and Reggie dressed like Vicki towards the end of the episode and doing a song and dance routine. S4E22: The Strike, which aired on May 6, 1989. In this episode Ted's union strike inspires the whole family. This episode also has a side plot of the kids in Jamie's class going on strike after their demands are not met, one of these demands is allowing the kids to bring their pets to school in a daycare situation. Interesting, Joan meets them halfway and tells them they can have a pet day show and tell once a month. The vending machine part of their demands is a kid wish list of things they wish they could have in school. Ted's demands from his co workers to the Union board aren't wrong, increase percentage in profit sharing and more coverage for dental as well as a pay increase. Normal things any employee would want. S4E23: See No Evil, which aired on May 13, 1989. In this episode Vicki's eyesight is failing, so she cannot identify bike thieves. This was a goofy episode, Vicki wearing eyeglasses, granted it's understandable, things wear out and often need to be replaced. Ted gets Jamie a new bike, which then proceeds to get stolen in the schoolyard and Vicki has to help identify the thieves based on their voices. This episode was just ok. and finally the last episode of Season 4 and the final episode of the show. S4E24: Thy Neighbor's Wife, which aired on May 20, 1989. In this episode Joan poses as Mrs. Brindle to impress a businessman. I hated this episode because it centered around Brandon and him trying to impress a Japanese businessman because he wants to hire a "family man" and after a fight with Bonnie who takes Harriet and moves into a hotel, Brandon is in a bind and begs Joan to pretend to be Bonnie, he even has Joan and Vicki dress in what now a days would be considered racially insensitive kimonos and delivering lines that would not pass for appropriate by todays TV standards. Ted was written out for most of the episode for a flight to Texas, but then comes back in the last 5 minutes. Richard Christie (Ted Lawson) actually directed this final episode. He did a good job. Well, there you have it, I hope you all enjoy these last episodes of the show and thank you so much for listening to this podcast on Small Wonder for the last 6 years. Have a great Summer everyone!
The Trump Administration teamed up with the far-right hate group, Moms for Liberty, to tattle on public schools that have diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts via an online portal—which already seems to have been taken down. The site was being flooded with porn and spam. Then, IBM and a French engineering company have partnered to recycle polyester clothing and help the environment with the 134 million tons of textiles discarded each year. Finally, passengers on an Air India trip from Chicago to Delhi had a crappy flight when the plane had to make a U-turn over Greenland when 11 of the 12 toilets became clogged. With a tremendous fireball, New Rogue blasted the troupe into a new day. He expressed his disappointment in Del for refusing to protect Jack Magnum and rode off, Tyler revealed his had lost faith in his ability to lead the troupe, and Shadow Nemesis took advantage of Tyler's mental state to lie about his intentions and immediately tried and failed to kill Gregernant Mahn with the talisman. Hearing of Shadow Nemesis's attack on the town, Del and DDX asked Tyler if he agreed that they should just kill the barbarian, and then Tyler did just that. Will the troupe be able to come back together now that they've brutally murdered one of their own? How many holes in a straw? Ricki and Zac want to change the rules of baseball in favor of lazy people.
In last Thursday's episode, I added the Tattletale and the Blame Gamer to the Hall of Infamy. Now I would like to add the Dictator. Key topics:✔️ Sadly, there are plenty of companies that learned nothing from The Great Resignation. IMO, this is why I am seeing more Dictator types emerging from the shadows: they feel emboldened to behave that way.✔️ How much micromanagement do you want to tolerate? Only you can decide.✔️ If you can suss out that a manager is a dictatorial type BEFORE you take a job or you start a project, so much the better.Links I discuss in this episode:https://www.inc.com/jayson-demers/7-types-of-clients-who-will-take-your-patience-to-the-brink.htmlhttps://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/01/business/return-to-office-battles.htmlhttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1125110/11034023https://www.buzzsprout.com/1125110/11058329Need more? In this Because You Asked sermon, we discover a list of texts that can be used to quickly discern a preacher's theology.
Last summer, I talked about people like Teddy the Tailgate Negotiator and Ned the Needy. In this episode, I add a couple of new ones to my Hall of Infamy: Tammy the Tattletale and Blaine the Blame Gamer. Key topics:✔️ Here's an uncomfortable reality about freelancing or consulting: sometimes, a client hires you to be the scapegoat.
Tonight, we present two examinations of the world of newspapers and investigative reporting, first comedy, then something a little more dramatic. The newspaper comic strip “Blondie” was created by Chic Young and started running in 1930. It is still running, as I record this, almost 92 years later. It features the domestic mis-adventures of the eponymous Blondie, and her husband Dagwood, Bumstead. And, in this case, their children, son Alexander and daughter Cookie. The success of the comic strip launched a series of 28 “Blondie” movies, produced from 1938 to 1950, all starring Penny Singleton as Blondie and Arthur Lake as Dagwood. The weekly radio series, also starring Singleton and Lake, ran concurrently on various networks and for various sponsors from 1939 to 1950. This is a typical episode, with Dagwood accidentally getting involved in embarrassing shenanigans. And I particularly enjoy some of the sound effects. Then real-life politician, writer, and newspaper publisher Will Rogers, Jr. plays a heightened version of himself on “Rogers of the Gazette.” This episode also features young reporters hunting for scandal, and finding just a bit of crime and peril. Episodes Blondie November 3, 1948 “Blondie and The Tattletale” aka “Alexander's Scandal Sheet” 2:50 Rogers of the Gazette December 30, 1953 “Investigative Reporters” 29:04
Join us on Patreon for the full cast bios starting at the $3 level, as we talk about the men of Gabby and Rachel's season of the Bachelorette. We are bringing back the tarot readings for every episode of Gabby and Rachel's season of The Bachelorette. Megan asked the Final Rose Tarot cards what we can expect from this season. Megan pulled the Five of Mirrors aka The Tattletale. This card is all about scheming, conflict, and plans backfiring. There's definitely a Tattletale in this episode… Hello, Meatball. This week the ladies say adieu to L.A. and bonjour à Paris, the City of Love. This week we see one-on-one dates with Gabby and Jason, plus Rachel and Tino. We see Rachel's … I mean … Gabby's boxing group date. We also see the most AWKWARD group date, where the men flirt in weird ways, Rachel smells armpits and the men french their own hands. WTF. We highlight BIPOC contestants because we believe it is important to highlight those who we see on our screen, because representation matters. This week we are saying goodbye and highlighting Quincey. We have a feeling he will be beach bound in the future. You can always connect with us at: linktr.ee/CrimeandRoses.
