A captivating anthology of British clarinet compositions curated and performed by versatile musician Ronald Woodley and pianist Andrew West. This collection explores British musical modernism, featuring both new and underappreciated pieces from the twentieth century by composers Elisabeth Lutyens, Angela Elizabeth Slater, Morris Pert, Christopher Fox, and Edward Cowie. Woodley's deep-rooted fascination for the basset horn, inspired by Lutyens, drove him to rediscover the world of British musical modernism, revealing its complexities and dynamics.Notable compositions in the anthology include Elisabeth Lutyens' “This Green Tide” for the basset horn, Angela Elizabeth Slater's “Around the Darkening Sun” for bass clarinet and piano, Morris Pert's “Luminos” for basset horn and piano, Christopher Fox's “This has happened before” featuring multitracked bass clarinets, and Edward Cowie's “Heather Jean Nocturnes” inspired by visual art. This collection is a valuable addition for clarinet enthusiasts and music lovers, shedding light on the lesser-known gems of British music and showcasing the power of artistic collaboration across mediums, offering a glimpse into the evolution of British music.TracksElisabeth LutyensThis Green Tide, Op. 103 (10:15)Angela Elizabeth SlaterAround the Darkening Sun* (5:25)Morris PertLuminos, Op. 16a (16:22)Christopher FoxThis has happened before (10:54)Elisabeth LutyensFive Little Pieces, Op. 14 No. 1* I. In the world of filmmaking, there are stories that touch us on a surface level, and then there are those that dive deep into the complexities of the human experience. 'Rub' falls into the latter category, delving into the lives of outcasts and addressing misconceptions surrounding the term 'incel.' This film takes a unique and bold approach to storytelling, challenging the audience's expectations and leaving a lasting impact. The character of Neil, portrayed by the talented Micah, serves as an unlikely hero, representing the struggles many individuals face in finding love and friendship. Viewers are surprised by Neil's character development, expecting him to become a violent menace. Instead, his journey takes a different route as he navigates his insecurities and loneliness, ultimately finding love amidst the struggles of two outcasts. But 'Rub' doesn't stop at exploring the lives of outcasts. It bravely tackles the harsh reality of human trafficking and sex work, shedding light on the experiences of women trapped in this dangerous world. Through the character of Perla, the film creates awareness and gives a voice to those who have suffered in similar situations. It's a powerful narrative that challenges societal norms and raises important questions. One of the standout elements of 'Rub' is its unconventional and bold ending. This film doesn't adhere to the typical Hollywood formula; instead, it takes risks and defies expectations. The ending leaves audiences thinking and reflecting long after the credits roll, much like A24's Uncut Gems. Both films share a common theme of challenging traditional storytelling and making an impact that lingers.Creating ambiguity and encouraging audience interpretation was a deliberate intention of the filmmaker behind 'Rub.' By allowing viewers to come up with their own meanings and interpretations, the film sparks deeper engagement and discussion. It's a refreshing departure from spoon-feeding the audience and invites them to become active participants in the viewing experience. From the success and recognition in the festival circuit to the dedication and performances of its cast and crew, 'Rub' has made a mark in the world of cinema. Its ability to tackle heavy subject matter in a subtle yet impactful way resonates with audiences, distinguishing it as a standout film. If you're seeking a thought-provoking and emotionally charged movie that defies expectations, 'Rub' is a must-watch.----------Watch RUB now on Amazon Prime.Connect with Actress Jennifer Figuereo on Instagram.Connect with Actor Micah Spayer on Instagram.Connect with Director Christopher Fox on Instragram.----------Support The Cinedicate on PatreonConnect with The Cinedicate on these social platforms!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cinedicate/Twitter: https://twitter.com/cinedicate/Discord: https://www.cinedicate.com/discord Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. To mark the occasion, we have conversations with Christopher Fox, senior vice president, formulations, at the Access to Advanced Health Institute; TB Alliance CEO Mel Spigelman; and Jane Theaker, CEO of PBD Biotech. This episode of the podcast is sponsored by Samplix.World Tuberculosis DayTuberculosis is a leading infectious disease. According to the WHO, 10.6 million people became ill with the disease in 2021, and there were 1.6 million deaths from tuberculosis. The theme for World TB Day 2023 is Yes! We can end TB!It aims to inspire hope and encourage high-level leadership, increased investments, faster uptake of new WHO recommendations, adoption of innovations, accelerated action, and multisectoral collaboration to combat TB. TB AllianceTB Alliance is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to finding faster-acting and affordable drug regimens to fight TB. Through innovative science and with partners around the globe, the organization aims to ensure equitable access to faster, better TB cures that will advance global health and prosperity. TB Alliance operates with support from various global governments as well as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Global Health Innovative Technology Fund, and the United States Agency for International Development. Access to Advanced Health InstituteA potential new vaccine for tuberculosis has been developed by the Access to Advanced Health Institute in Seattle, a nonprofit biotech research institute. The results of a phase 1 clinical trial were published earlier this month in the journal Nature Communications.PBD BiotechPBD Biotech has developed a rapid screening blood test for identifying people with the disease as well as a subgroup with pre-clinical infection at higher risk of developing the disease. The company said this has the potential to revolutionize the management of TB. Biotech's Actiphage blood test is sensitive and specific, and clinical studies at the Leicester Respiratory NIHR Biomedical Centre have shown it is able to diagnose patients with pulmonary TB and identify contacts with recent exposure that have very early stage infection and may be at higher risk of developing TB in the future. By enabling rapid screening of a population for TB, Actiphage offers a breakthrough in disease prevention and treatment. Further trials of Actiphage are currently running in the U.K., South Africa and Zambia.
Thought leadership marketing is the new marketing buzzword. And since it's one of the most effective ways to elevate a content marketing strategy, everyone wants to be in on it. But not all companies should do thought leadership marketing. In this episode of the Notorious Thought Leader podcast, our host Erin Balsa welcomes Christopher Fox, the founder and managing partner of Syncresis. They talk about what thought leadership really is, why it's not for everyone, and the difference between subject matter experts and thought leaders.
Our world is filled with a massive amount of content that demands attention. How do you package your thought leadership in a way that is worthy of your audience's time? In order to explore ways to create sustainable thought leadership I've invited Christopher Fox to join me. Chris is the founder and managing partner of Syncresis, which focuses on thought leadership for financial innovators: banks, financial service providers, and fintechs. A lot of brilliant ideas die on the shelf because no one heard them. Chris helps us understand what it takes to get your ideas heard and have the audience embrace them. His method of creating a Content Hive involves using all the mediums available to reach the several audiences and deliver various facets of your thought leadership to them in meaningful ways that actually change perceptions. While some might think this means blasting your thought leadership out to as many people as possible Chris explains why drilling down to the specific person and position that can have the largest influence on your business can be more effective. Thought leadership created with those people in mind can always be expanded on later for a larger audience relatively inexpensively. As individuals we have a limited amount of attention we can give to the glut of content and information that is thrown at us each day. Chris shares why thought leaders have an ethical responsibility to deliver content that creates a higher value for their audience. He also warns that if you put out content that wastes their time it poisons the soil and makes planting the next idea that much harder. Three Key Takeaways: * Thought Leadership is not about mass scale; it's about getting insights into the hands of decision-makers who are receptive to it. * When creating thought leadership, don't think of your audience in broad terms. Try to identify the people it can influence most, who have the most influence on moving your ideas forward. * Working with a thought leadership partner allows them to ask the hard questions, and force your content to become sharper and more focused on the right audience.
MAIN EPISODE: This week filmmaker Christopher Fox joins to showcase his directorial debut Rub, set to hit theaters later this year. We also sit down and discuss one of the major influences for his feature film, the 1993 drama Falling Down, starring Michael Douglas.Listen now as we discuss one of Michael Douglas' best performances in Falling Down. A film that illustrates a man driven to the edge by a society that has seemingly forgetting about him. A mundane day stuck in gridlock traffic in L.A. sparks William, a.k.a. D-Fens, on a pathway of destruction. This character archetype is then manifested in Christopher Fox's film Rub with the character of Neal. A man who is down on his luck, both in his career and his love-life. Driven to the edge, Neal must chooses a path of destruction as he is placed in extraordinary circumstances.Connect with Christopher's film, Rub on Instagram. In this episode, I'm talking with Christopher Fox of Syncresis who specialises in Thought Leadership which, in his case, means developing and executing content strategies for financial innovators. A very specific, targeted business model and part of our discussion is around how this specification came about. After all, he started off life as a Professor of French Literature. The connection makes sense when you realise that his main job is to take something baffling or complicated and translate it into something that we can understand. During our conversation we explore such topics as: how you can discover your area to specialise in; the differences between Truth, Trust and Faith in business messages; and what it actually means to make things better. Christoper has successfully created a space where he is truly in a Category of One. And he's done it by being someone who likes a challenge. What problem have others been unable to solve? How can I do things differently? Which barriers can I break? If you want to know more about Christoper then check out his website Syncresis or you can find him on Linkedin Linkedin Profile So do check those out but for now sit back, relax, think about which barriers you can break and, most of all, enjoy.

Support the Show. Get the NEW AudioBook! AudioBook: Audible| Kobo| Authors Direct | Google Play | Apple SummaryHey everyone. Stay tuned to the end of the interview where I'll give you some actionable insights that I learned from my guest. These insights are also in the show notes. As always, thanks for listening. Now on to my guest today, Christopher Fox, founder of Syncresis, a communications strategy firm. Chris earned a Ph.D. in French literature but after two years of teaching, he realized it wasn't for him. He took his research and communication skills and put them to work into digital communications and strategy, eventually founding his own firm. He's evolved his focus to fintech and particularly to working with thought leaders in this niche, finding that his passion and skills for analyzing the complexity of French literature translate well to peeling back the layers of the complex discourse of fintech. One key factor in getting to really understand a concept, Chris explains, is to understand its context. Chris's main objective when working with clients is to help them connect with or rediscover theirs why. This not only connects them to their passion, it helps him shape their story for the external world and for their target audience. For his clients and for his own business, Chris focuses more on crafting the message and getting it in front of the right people than on trying to game SEO and algorithms. Tune in to find out what French books Chris recommends as well as his insight into why it's easier for people to understand credit cards than bitcoin. Now let's get better together. Actionable Insights Your why is your fuel. Keep asking yourself why, even after several years. This will help drive you and keep you motivated and passionate. Chris does this for himself as well as eliciting it from his clients. SEO and ads can be a solid starting point, but eventually, you're going to want to focus on who you're reaching - not how many. Don't be afraid to learn new things -- even when they are far afield from what you studied in school or did in a past career. Learning is an important part of seeing the gaps in your thinking. When it comes to wanting sex, we all want to want it… that's what we've been told we should do. But that view of sexual desire is far from most people's reality, and actually leads to people feeling that there is something wrong with them if they don't want sex as much as their partner does. On this week's episode, I chat to Dr Christopher Fox, a psychosexual and relationship therapist practicing in Melbourne, Australia. He's also the clinical director of the Masters program in Sexual Health at the University of Sydney, where I actually studied and met him. He's also a European certified Psychosexologist as I am, and he's someone with a wealth of experience helping clients manage sexual and relationship difficulties. In this episode, we talk about how “low desire” is not something bad and how we need to rework our notion of desire within relationships in order to have more satisfying sex lives. Dr Christopher Fox presents a podcast on the BSH Good Practice Paper: The prevention of central nervous system relapsed in diffuse large B- cell lymphoma. As Dr Fox highlights, this is rare event in clinical practice and is devastating for patients when it occurs as well as causes much anxiety amongst clinicians. There is a lack of robust evidence to clearly recommend which patients should receive CNS prophylaxis and how this should be delivered. The data are largely retrospective with a wide variation in selection criteria for which patients received prophylaxis, primary treatment regimen used and type of CNS prophylaxis given. Dr Fox discusses three areas useful in this Good Practice Paper: 1) The problem of central nervous system relapse. 2) Who should receive prophylaxis. 3) To discuss what the optimum CNS prophylaxis may be. Dr Christopher Fox is a Consultant Haematologist at the Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust.
If you're having sex with a partner and they don't cum, do you feel inadequate? Not cumming during intercourse is usually something we associate with cis, hetro women, but it happens to a number of guys as well. It can leave the guy feeling unsatisfied and leave their partner feeling like they're not good enough. Especially when guys are assumed to cum all the time. You'll hear from a couple of guys who just can't cum during penetrative sex, and from a sex therapist on how this problem works and how you might be able to fix it.

This week's question: What’s better, penis or vagina? This week's quote: “The vagina’s looking after itself.” My god, listen to this man’s voice. Let him tickle your ear holes with talk about “p”s and “v”s, as he so charmingly refers to them. OH! And there’s a bonus track at the end of this podcast, just for you. Stay ’til the very end, and be rewarded with “Ghost,” from Folly and the Hunter’s album Tragic Care. (Note: it is not explicitly about “p”s or “v”s.)
