We discuss this extravagant lifestyle with all the surprising twists that occur in the show. Subscribe here for in depth discussions, reviews and recaps including some of your favorite cast members. ABOUT POWER: The series follows James St. Patrick, nicknamed "Ghost", owner of a popular New York City nightclub. In addition, he is a major player in one of the city's biggest illegal drug networks. He struggles to balance these two lives, and the balance topples when he realizes he wants to leave the drug ring in order to support his legitimate business. It appears James "Ghost" St. Patrick has it all -- a drop-dead gorgeous wife, a stunning Manhattan penthouse, and the power and success that come with owning hot new nightclub Truth. But a closer look reveals a man living a double life. When Ghost isn't tending to his Fortune 500 business, he's catering to clients of another operation: a drug empire that serves only the rich and influential. While loyal sidekick Tommy protects the cash-cow narcotics venture at all costs, Ghost's new reality is using Truth as more than a front to launder money. It's a way out of the drug game and into a legitimate life with his family, even if everything he loves becomes unknowingly threatened. We're back to discuss season 6 of Starz's Power, beginning with episode 1 Murderers.
Experience the deep, warm and mellow shades that make up this week’s guest, actor and creator, Marcus Callender. Marcus takes host Trevor Joyner through the twists and turns of his actor’s journey and personal life with the ease, spontaneity, and authenticity of a golden era jazz musician. He recounts first contact with Oliver “Power” Grant (the real life character Callender plays in the upcoming Hulu Original “Wu-Tang: An American Saga”) which manifested as a cryptic text message from Grant which read, “Peace, Peace. What’s up.” Although Callender’s resume seems to be racking up iconic NYC characters whose lives get tangled into an intense street life, our guest is looking forward to “showing cats a different side” of himself, namely in the form of acting in some romantic comedies. This week’s guest is a #proudpisces with “mainly earth and water” in his astro natal chart; the one vexing speck of air (his Venus is in Aquarius) both intrigue and challenge him - especially in his dating life. Jerrell Lee Wesley, actor/writer, grew up in a small rural town in West Florida. His father was a fire-fighter while his mother worked in a SONY factory. He has two older brothers and a younger sister. Being the youngest boy, he constantly found himself having to work extremely hard just to keep up with his older brothers. This competitive drive would, at times, find him in the dark hours of the evening honing his athletic skills. Eventually, Jerrell became a 3-sport star at Graceville High School. He used his athletic ability to earn a scholarship at the University of Kentucky, where he played football and baseball. After his college career, Jerrell had several professional baseball tryouts, but injuries from his football days spoiled any athletic dreams. So he gave up on his dreams of being a professional athlete, and became a football coach at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. During his time at Drake, his passion for the arts were reignited when the team took a trip to the California Bay area. “When I stepped off that plane and saw those hills and mountains, it sparked a childhood desire to move to Los Angeles" and pursue my passion for acting. With $1200 in his pocket, Jerrell took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles. Jerrell has starred in supporting roles alongside Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in the hit RomCom The Proposal. He had a recurring role for three seasons in the ‘STARZ' hit tv show POWER, created by Courtney Kemp, and starring rapper 50 Cent and actor Omari Hardwick. He also had roles on shows Blue Bloods, The Goldberg's, Switched At Birth, Six Feet Under, and ‘YOUTUBE PREMIUM' hit Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on TV. Other movie roles include Knight & Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. Today, Jerrell currently lives in Atlanta, GA. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theactorslounge/support
