Microsoft: 5 procent in het rood. Crowdstrike: verliest 10 procent. En IBM lijdt zelfs het grootste koersverlies sinds het jaar 2000: 13 procent. Beleggers zijn opeens niet meer bang voor een AI-bubbel, maar vrezen dat al die kunstmatige intelligentie de verdienmodellen van bijna alle gevestigde bedrijven kapot gaat maken. Met als gevolg massale werkloosheid, en een enorme recessie. Het wordt allemaal geschetst in een doomsday-scenario van een zwartgallige onderzoeker, maar toch wegen beleggers er heel zwaar aan. Waarom? En terecht? Dat zoeken we deze aflevering voor je uit. Het is ook de dag dat de nieuwe importheffingen van Donald Trump ingaan. En de dag dat het eerste bedrijf in opstand komt. Pakketbezorger FedEx eist z'n geld terug. Dat heeft flink moeten dokken voor al die importheffingen en wil dat vergoed zien door de Amerikaanse overheid. Todd Charteris is the Chief Executive Officer of Rabobank New Zealand. Since taking the helm in 2018, he has led a team of more than 540 colleagues across 27 offices, with responsibility for the bank's lending to New Zealand's food and agri sector as well as its online retail savings business. A real Rabonist, Todd's story with the bank started more than 25 years ago in Te Puke, where he began as a rural officer. From there, he went on to hold a range of senior leadership roles across the group in both New Zealand and Australia. Before becoming CEO, he served as National Manager for Country Banking in Australia, overseeing Rabobank's specialist agricultural lending operations across the Tasman. Todd grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Otago and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago. Het lijkt wel andersom dag. Een chipmachinemaker die daalt, en juist een luchtvaartmaatschappij die scoort. Besi komt met het prachtige nieuws dat alle belangrijkste markten eindelijk weer aantrekken. Vier jaar hebben ze daar op gewacht. Maar beleggers zijn er allesbehalve van onder de indruk. Het aandeel wordt gedumpt. Waarom? Dat hoor je in deze aflevering. Dan hebben we het dus ook over die luchtvaartmaatschappij die wel de wind mee heeft. AirFrance-KLM is dat.
