In this episode of Market Mondays, we tackled some of the most critical developments in the investment world. We began by exploring the launch of the Trump ETF, analyzing which powerhouse companies could dominate its portfolio and whether politically influenced funds should have a place in the market. The rise of Chinese AI giant DeepSeek, which has surpassed OpenAI's ChatGPT on Apple's platforms, was another hot topic as we examined its potential to dethrone OpenAI as the leader in artificial intelligence. We also discussed Mark Zuckerberg's massive $60 billion commitment to Meta and what this means for investors and the future of the company. The recent tech crash created unique buying opportunities, and we broke down where savvy investors should focus their attention. Alphabet's shares crossing the $200 milestone on a split-adjusted basis for the first time highlighted major growth drivers, while the historic low in the VIX signaled intriguing shifts in market volatility. We also looked at the latest AI rally, which appears to have left Apple behind, raising questions about whether the tech giant can catch up or if a new leader is emerging. Meanwhile, the rivalry between Elon Musk and Sam Altman took center stage as we debated its implications for AI innovation. Finally, we turned our attention to bearish sentiment on Nike despite its stock dropping to $70, discussing whether this presents a hidden opportunity or a long-term concern. We also explored whether DeepSeek's AI model is legitimate and if NVIDIA could face a Cisco-like downfall post-dot-com bubble. Wrapping up the episode, we had a powerful conversation with Derek Lewis on the importance of DEI and leadership in today's evolving business landscape.#MarketMondays #Investing #AI #DeepSeek #OpenAI #Meta #Zuckerberg #TrumpETF #StockMarket #Alphabet #NVIDIA #Nike #Leadership #DEI #TechCrash #Volatility #ElonMusk #SamAltman #Apple #InnovationSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/marketmondays/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
We are so thankful when artists come back for a second interview! We last spoke to DijahSB back in January of 2022. Our friends DJ Cat and Scott Bell were with us for that interview. Unfortunately, our Derek Lewis couldn't be with us this time round, but Dimetre and Craig had a blast with our old friend. They are kind of in a bit of a holding pattern as far as shows go, but with DijahSB's upcoming performance at the Polaris Music Prize show for which they are on the shortlist at Massey Hall, we think they'll be plenty busy in the near future!Get DijahSB on Instagram at:https://www.instagram.com/DijahSB/Canadian AF is a part of Revolution Radio Canada:https://revolutionradio.live

I met Derek years ago through mutual friends and he always was super kind and had great energy. What I didn't know is that he was building an amazing business and culture behind Razorback Electric. Over there years I would run into him randomly at a workout or community event and it seemed that every time there was a new family member. Derek is a father first, husband and local business owner with an absolutely amazing story of overcoming tragedy and turning it into triumph. What started out as a simple and humble service job for another business changed Dereks life for the better. He dug ditches and showed up no matter what. His boss at the time became an incredible mentor to him and encouraged Derek to learn more about the process and business. Derek remembers the old times fondly in that it was so simple, get up, get plugged into good living, go to work and do whatever was asked of him and then repeat the next day. The system is pretty simple once you get into that routine and habit. Along the way he went back to trade school to learn more about what he was doing all while focusing on showing up for the customer and providing the best service he could.Fast forward to 2023 and he was transformed his life and the life of those around him by consistency building off the fact of effort, quality work and surrounding himself with the best people possible. He's admitted to having his struggles with observing how some people do business down here and realizes that he can only control how he operates and encourages his employees to do the same. His day to day consists of how he began his journey......Get up take care of his "roommates", get connected to God, have his day planned out to get the small tasks done one at a time and remember to stay present in the beautiful life that he enjoys each and every day. Razorback Electric has a staff of tradesmen, fully licensed and accredited and will complete your project as planned. They specialize in residential new home construction, current home upgrades, electrical panel repairs and/or replacement, and custom lighting of the interior and exterior of your home. In the commercial field, Razorback Electric, Inc., works with many contractors on ground-up business construction, commercial wiring, custom lighting, walk-in refrigeration and the many other custom wiring and lighting needs of the business industry. One of the ways that we measure whether we are moving toward health equity is by measuring health disparities, i.e., the size of the gap between advantaged and disadvantaged groups. In this episode, host Craig Wilson talks with Derek Lewis II, president of the Derek Lewis Foundation — founded by his father, Dr. Derek Lewis — about health disparities in Arkansas and the work that the foundation and the National Medical Association are doing to advance health equity. I'm John Willis (Botchagalupe). For almost ten years, I have been researching and writing a book about Dr. Deming. About two years ago, I got serious about the work, and then the pandemic struck. I should write this book if I ever intend to do so. Two years ago, I started working with a wonderful consultant, Derek Lewis. He has a phenomenal voice that you get to hear. I have worked with him for two years. After about a year of writing, I naively thought I was done. A year later, with five drafts, I could continue for another five years. However, I have finally begun working with a publisher. There will be some excellent news on that front. Hopefully, the audio, final, and Kindle versions will be available this summer. The paperback might not be available until the end of the year due to printing and supply chain issues. There are two things to note about this edition. One, it is an early version, so there will be changes when we finally produce and publish the production audio version. Two, I used a dramatic version for this edition. To add excitement, I added some voiceovers and minor sound effects. I hope you enjoy listening to this audiobook's first three chapters. If you would like an early copy to finish the book, please contact botchagalupe@gmail.com. However, it won't be a version for distribution. The final version may or may not change. I hope you enjoy the first three chapters; the actual final book will have 20 chapters, as it stands at 350 pages.
Season 5 - Episode 48Namaste guys…Poor Linda ‘lurgy' Pollock is out of action this week – she didn't catch it off me in-case that's what you're thinking. Hopefully she'll be back next week.Anyway, this week I stay over at a haunted Air BnB with my dog Miracle. Mr Derek Lewis invites me into this haunted house which sits off the beaten track in a place called Holt which is somewhere in Norfolk. This place proper shit me up. Not only was there creaks and bumps in the night but Miracle sniffed out a ‘hob goblin like creature' that was knocking about in the back garden. I couldn't sleep and I also couldn't wait to get out of the bloody place. In the spirit of good will I invite back Sir David (lord of the realm, treasure of the nation) Attenborough. Things didn't go to well when we met last time so I'm looking to repair the damage that was done.I also call Kevin and Claire from ‘Paranormal Research York' to see if I could get involved with helping to exorcise any haunted places in York. Our favourite nurse guest Claire Grant opens her celestial curtains to let us into her massive portal where we get to listen to another of her spooky stories. Claire tells a story of a woman whom she was caring for at a nursing home that spoke to dead relatives before popping her clogs. Pretty-bloody-spooky.I Speak to various contributors to the podcast and ask them for their ‘one word sum up' that gives us a positive feeling for 2023. I asked this of all my guests including Ruth. Things prove difficult. Sorry in advance. I also speak to Barry who gives us his word…which to be honest, is the same word he gave us last year.I got in touch with Andy Pollard the Yorkshire Ghost Guy who tells us about his spooky visit to Spofforth Castle where he heard a murder confession from a ghost. [SENSITIVE SUBJECT MATTER] There's light in the darkness. Christina's confusion around the suspicious death of beloved star Stephen "tWitch" Boss led her to connect with a childhood friend, Derek Lewis Gray. Derek is a writer, filmmaker, and author of the book, "The Sum of All Things: Connecting with the Spirit and God in Us All." This podcast stems from a Facebook post where the two once saw disagreement. Instead of typing back and forth, they stopped the text thread and scheduled a Zoom. What you are about to hear is an intimate discussion that includes sensitive material. Facebook thread: CHRISTINA: "Hearing of [tWitch's] death shocked me. The media response triggered me. To claim so quickly that this man's death was due to self-inflicted suicide seems negligent. I don't know him but we're friends of friends. He has close friends who feel similarly. I understand mental health is trending and that many people are depressed. And that it's hard to tell who's ok and who isn't. And yes I agree to be kind to everyone because you don't know what anyone is going through. However, this man called Boss by close friends doesn't appear to have typical circumstances that cause one to kill themselves. Consider his profile — a passionate, successful, glowing, thriving career, young children, healthy relationship, moving his body, etc. I've known friends and family to die by suicide. I accept it. This one doesn't seem fair to him to do so quickly, especially publicly." DEREK: "I think your heart is in the right place and I believe in your attempt to articulate the need for the media and the collective to use restraint before posting outcomes and assumptions; however, SOME of your points come across as a bit negligent. First, there is not one profile for depression... I contemplated suicide 3 times in my life. From those who know me today, it would be a surprise even for my wife at the time because I still kept smiling while in public and created the illusion I felt people expected of me. Second, in many communities, there is a stigma around getting help as being weak. So people keep quiet and learn to be functional while we are suffering. Lastly, when you refer to something as trending it's dismissive. Mental health isn't trending, it's just that more folks are discussing it..." Releasing this episode feels vulnerable. Either of us owns the truth and this episode aims to authentically share our process and quest to understand reality. *NOTE: After this recording, Derek sent Christina the voice text shared by Jack "WildChild" Brown (Black'ish star's Dad). Boss sent the message to Brown in May of 2022. Every human goes through struggles. This message is evidence that Boss was willing to talk to friends about personal details and seek help, not that he was capable of suicide. Following the death of George Floyd, there was a racial reckoning that prompted some U.S. companies to commit more heavily to equity in their communities and workplaces. In 2020, PepsiCo committed $570 million over 5 years to increase Black and Hispanic representation, help address systemic barriers and create economic opportunities for Black and Hispanic Americans. Now, we are catching up with one of the leaders at PepsiCo responsible for driving that change. News 6 anchor and Real Talk Real Solutions host Ginger Gadsden recently sat down with the first president of multicultural business & equity development at PepsiCo to learn more about his role and how he is using it to strengthen minority communities. Derek Lewis spent 34 years with PepsiCo before stepping into this new position. He says he is passionate about diversity because it's not just minorities who win when they have the resources they need to succeed, but the community as a whole. Lewis is getting very hands-on in Central Florida. “We had a great activation at the Harbor House, we partnered with the Shaquille O'Neil Foundation, The Orlando Magic and the sheriff's office, we restored some recreational facilities, Boys and Girls Club, it just varies,” he said. Lewis also focuses his time on an initiative called “She Got Now.” It's meant to be a celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities' culture and pride for the next generation of female leaders. HBCUs are near and dear to his heart. He graduated from Hampton University and credits his education there as preparing him for his current role. It's a position that he says he had to work hard to get and now that he has it, “it's time to pay it forward.” During his conversation with Ginger, Lewis shares some of the things he wishes he would have known when he was younger. For example, dream big, be a continuous learner, build your brand, and understand the power of relationships and collaboration. He also dives deeper into how he climbed the ladder at PepsiCo and the importance of diversity in the boardroom. To hear more from Lewis and how he is serving the community, listen to the latest episode of Real Talk Real Solutions by clicking here.
School is back in session, which is exciting, but it also means that student anxiety and stress are beginning to ratchet up. Now more than ever, this is true because we're still coming back from the pandemic and the additional stress it gave students. Today you'll get to hear from one student who's making a difference. Emma Wright is a senior at Riverside high school, where she helped to form Minds Matter, a local club that helps students and staff at Riverside who are struggling with mental health concerns. She's interviewed by Derek Lewis, a member of the Greenville County school board and Director of Greenville First Steps. In 2018 (the last mid-term or non-presidential election), more than half of South Carolina's voters turned out on the November election day. But back in June, only 20% of voters cast a ballot in the primary election. And that small group of summer voters largely determined who ended up in office. Because most of our races in South Carolina have just one party represented on the ballot in November, and that person is chosen during the summer primary. Jason Zacher, Senior Vice President of Business Advocacy with the Greenville Chamber and Upstate Chamber Coalition covers this and other important election-related topics. He's interviewed by Derek Lewis of Greenville First Steps. _ Produced by The Greenville Podcast Company.

Generally, the legislative priorities of a Chamber of Commerce are focused on improving the business climate. This often includes reducing tax burdens on businesses and improving access to workers for business growth. But the interests of social services agencies - including expungement of criminal records, managed growth, public transportation, and education - are important to businesses as well. Jason Zacher, Senior Vice President of Business Advocacy with the Greenville Chamber and the Upstate Chamber Coalition joins us to discuss the connections.
