Featured Musician: Desmond Jones The Video: [After THE JUMP: The things said.] --------------------- 1. Signs, Stalions, and the Law, wsg Richard Hoeg starts at the top Partridge is out the door; the rest broke during or after the segment. We scheduled our lawyer friend Hoeg (YouTube Channel) because we thought we'd have a hearing right now instead of things breaking that we were just hearing about last night. Michigan's case was stronger than the Big Ten's but the hole in Michigan's case for a TRO was they had to prove irreparable harm, and considering the Vegas line didn't move for Harbaugh being out they had a tough case to prove there. It's always better to settle than litigate; it's not clear that this was a legal settlement. 2. Maryland Preview starts at 18:29 Hi Josh Gattis! Taulia Tagovailoa is the same player he's been for years. He doesn't ruin red zone drives by running backwards 30 yards *as often* but his accuracy still comes and goes because he's short and often throwing off-platform. OL looks like they can stop the pass rush but that's probably because the #1 way to contain Ta-Ta is to contain him. They also have just one really solid starter (LT Delmar Glaze) and a sub-FBS right side. Running game is awful. WRs aren't the dudes they used to be. Defensively they're kind of an MSU where everyone is meh. Some of the NFL prospects haven't matured into such, no real stars. Barham was supposed to break out but is having a Colsonesque sophomore year. Pass-rusher gets a lot of pressures but only on high volume. They will put five up and blitz. 3. Basketball starts at 36:30 Might want to pump the breaks on the 3-0 start if you're basing it on St. John's because we don't really know what Theseus's Pitino Team really is. Dug's the headliner—MEEP MEEP—and his speed was devastating to a defense that doesn't know each others' names. Shooting is due for a mean regression, probably, but they keep having someone go off every game. Defensively it's night and day from last year, and some of the breakdowns are because they're not yet used to the fact that they don't need to help each other. T-Will has slimmed down, and contextually he's a much better defender when he's not put on a court with a bunch of non-athletes. 4. Penn State After Review starts at 52:46 Blocking had a lot more mishaps than usual, probably because of the crowd noise and their difficulty snapping it. Barnhart's troubles weren't necessarily his fault because those DEs were timing the snaps perfectly. RPS was +10 despite not passing for 36 minutes because PSU was incapable of stopping themselves from flying upfield. Defensively Michigan played their OSU defense on 1st downs which bled 5 yards before they tightened up. Paige had a good day flying down to stop that. Grant broke out. Will Johnson is the prince that was promised. Colson reverted to his Janus ways. Michigan could close the door when they needed to. About the Featured Musician: DESMOND JONES This year we are partnering with The Blind Pig for bumper music, since that's where I've seen most of the bands I've been pushing anyways. This is the week we're featuring Desmond Jones, the five-piece Grand Rapids rock band with a sax and a tendency for improv. Yeah, I know, I've been doing a lot of funk lately—that's what I've been listening to, and this group's all over my Spotify recommendations, with a library that goes back to 2015. who plays the Pig on Friday, December 1st. In this episode, Matt talks to Desmond Jones and Elgin Wren, 2 of the founders of the Bottle Cartel.  Their group started out as a joke among friends that turned into a hast tag within the Facebook bourbon and cigar communities. That then turned into people asking about or if they could join their group. So, they decided to create a Facebook group that expanded across all 50 states and had 400 plus members in less than 6 months. Their goal Is to provide a platform and group for like-minded people who enjoy spirits and cigars. Along with exposing people to spaces and environments that they may not have been to before. They like to create what they refer to as a “Top Shelf Lifestyle Experience” and their ultimate goal is a Jack Daniels Barrel Proof “Bottle Cartel “ store pick.

It’s back!  The historic live music venue of the mid-seventies, Vegetable Buddies, which featured legendary acts such as Canned Heat and Muddy Waters has been brought back to downtown South Bend, IN. New owner, Jeff Harrison, wanted to pay homage to those great acts that once graced VB’s stage and bring in some of the best blues and rock bands of today. The pigs had the pleasure of sitting down with Jeff, as well as VB’s mixologist, Steve Alger, and bar manager,  Maggie Czech to hear more about this classic venue’s history and all the new things in store for the future. Co-hosting on tonight’s episode is our brother from another, Mr. Warren Kluck of The Jason Lee and Kluck Show on 103.9 The Bear, as well as,  Here’s your Freakin’ Podcast.   VB’s didn’t just bring back great live music, but they are providing some tasty, unique, Cajun inspired cuisine from chef Jeffrey Nawrot and prohibition cocktails thanks to Maggie and Steve, along with some of the finest whiskey and craft beer around. Things get nostalgic on this episode as we got a little loopy and discussed some of our most memorable concerts, Warren’s nightmare in the octagon, and how MC Hammer made one of Warren’s greatest Xmas memories while parachute pants made one of Dougy Fresh’s worst birthdays ever. While talking about some of the many upcoming acts coming to VB’s in 2017, we spoke about the possibility of Savoy Brown taking the stage, and before this show was released, it became a reality.  The legendary Kim Simmons and Savoy Brown will be here on February 28th.   Be sure to get tickets now before they are gone.  (http://www.etix.com/ticket/v/11772/vegetable-buddies) For a list of all the great live music coming soon go to: http://buddiesdtsb.com/ Lots of shout outs tonight including:  Bare Hand Brewery; New Holland Brewing Co.; Indiana Whiskey Company (be sure to come see the Pigs here on Feb. 18th); Perrin Brewing Company;  Arcadian Ales; Davey Knowles; Kofi Baker; Rich Hardesty; Desmond Jones; Monon Beverage Brokers; Evil Czech Brewery and Public House; and Founders Brewing Co. We had too much fun to only spend an hour with our friends at Vegetable Buddies, so tune into tonight’s part one of two fun episodes.  Cheers!

Based in London, UK, he has performed his unique routines around the United Kingdom and abroad. Over the years thousands have enjoyed his tried and tested routines, which draw upon his training and experience in a variety of skill-sets, including mime, physical theatre, puppetry, illusion, escapology and more. Kiki is probably best known on the UK cabaret circuit for introducing the world to Furlesque - his quirky puppet burlesque creations. These routines have made him a regular at high profile burlesque events.A natural performer and attention seeker, Kiki had his first regular paid performance job at the age of 8, and has polished and refined his craft a little since then. He has trained in mime with celebrated physical theatre tutor Desmond Jones, clowning with the world famous Angela de Castro, puppetry with The Little Angel Theatre and circus skills at Circus Space. While all of these have proved invaluable, nothing has taught Kiki more than years and years of experimentation in front of real world audiences. After many years of performing short cabaret routines, in 2013 Kiki launched his first hour long solo clown show. A brief preview of the show at Madame Jojos in February met with an enthusiastic audience response, and the run of the show at Brighton Fringe attracted good audiences and 5 star reviews, followed by a successful run in Grimsby. Kiki likes writing in the third person.Website: http://kikilovechild.co.uk/kiki/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kikilovechildTwitter: https://twitter.com/http://ia902703.us.archive.org/0/items/RKVB21KikiLovechild1/RKVB%2021%20-%20Kiki%20Lovechild%201.mp3
