Le 8 septembre 2025, le Dr Frédéric Péchier comparaît devant la cour d'assises du Doubs. Il est accusé de 30 empoisonnements dont 12 mortels. En décembre 2025, Frédéric Péchier est condamné à la réclusion criminelle à perpétuité pour avoir empoisonné volontairement trente patients de deux cliniques à Besançon.Trente patients, dont douze sont morts. Jamais incarcéré pendant la très longue instruction, le médecin déchu continue de clamer son innocence. Il a fait appel et sera rejugé dans les prochains mois, par une nouvelle juridiction : Lyon. L'affaire éclate en mars 2017 : Frédéric Péchier, marié et père de trois enfants, rentre de vacances en famille. Coup de tonnerre : il est placé en garde à vue puis mis en examen, à ce moment-là pour SEPT cas. En parallèle, les investigations se poursuivent. Résultat, en mai 2019 : nouvelle garde à vue, nouvelle mise en examen pour 17 autres cas. Les suites de l'instruction, achevée en 2024, monteront ces cas à 30. La voix du crime de cet épisode c'est Étienne Manteaux, à l'époque procureur de Besançon.
