Join us on this jam-packed episode of Off the Screen, where the crew reunites after a two‑week break and dives into everything from bucket‑list vacations to NBA playoff drama. First, Mike transports us to the sun‑drenched shores of Grand Cayman, recounting days spent swimming with stingrays, marveling at bioluminescent plankton and starfish, followed by pure relaxation with tropical drinks. We contrast that with another host's whirlwind weekend at the final Dreamville Festival, complete with unforgettably electric performances from Lil Wayne, J. Cole, and J.I.D., plus a pit stop at Congaree National Park. The gang debates the toll of music festivals on the over‑30 set (“first time I fell asleep standing up!”) and shares plans for upcoming adventures—from knocking out national parks (four down, fifty‑nine to go!) to birthday getaways in Dallas. On the work front, one co‑host celebrates landing his first tech‑sector role with steady 8–4 hours, while another teases vlog‑camera upgrades to chronicle every trip. We discuss tips for “Shot on iPhone” credits and whether the Gateway Arch truly deserves its National Park status. Then, we shift into full-court press on the NBA's play‑in games and seeding battles: the Orlando Magic's decisive win over the Hawks, Trae Young's fiery ejection, and the Warriors edging out the Grizzlies for the No. 7 seed. Tune in for hot takes on game‑winning streaks—Steph Curry's late‑game barrage versus Desmond Bane's rookie‑rebound heroics—and a lively debate over phantom fouls on Butler and Poole. We preview Round 1 matchups (Magic vs. Celtics, Warriors vs. Rockets), assess Cinderella potential, and share insider betting stories (sorry, Jordan!).Whether you're chasing sun, stats, or slam dunks, this episode has something for every Off the Screen fan. Don't miss the banter, the travel envy, and the insider hoops breakdown—it's our most eclectic catch‑up yet!

Timing is everything, had I did this show Friday the narrative would have been much different. However following the events that took place after the surprise release of J. Cole's mixtape “Might Delete Later” we are left with wondering why he entered his hat in the race at all. The talk of Thursday night heading into Friday was the response titled “7 Minute Drill”. Maybe that was how long it took Cole to regret his move as just a couple days later he took the stage at his “Dreamville Festival” denouncing what he had done. I give my opinion on why his reasoning is contradictory to his own words as of late and what it means for him going forward. Then I highlight all the music that's been lost in the shuffle due to all the back and forth by the “Big 3”. This week we talk about the bittersweet entrance of De La Soul onto your favorite streaming service. It's great to reminisce, but why did it take so long? And it's said that Trugoy wasn't able to witness it. In other news, it seems like the Weeknd is skeevy IRL, and light skin is in effect with both J Cole and Drake headlining the Dreamville Festival. In local news, the Watauga County Board of Elections has completed its biennial list maintenance and removal of inactive voters. According to the Watauga Democrat, accurate voter rolls are maintained by removing voters who have moved, died or are otherwise uneligble to vote in that jurisdiction. The list maintenance occurs when the board has no contact with a voter for the previous two statewide general elections and the voter has not voted during that time. Due to these factors, 2,244 confirmation letters are sent out. As a result of the maintenance, Watauga County's voter registration went from 45,516 on January 1 to 42,869 as of February 25. In state news, Usher, Drake and J. Cole are expected to be headliners for this year's Dreamville Festival in Raleigh. According to WRAL, J. Cole announced the line-up for the two-day festival set for April 1st and 2nd on Tuesday. Usher will headline the first day with Drake and J. Cole headlining the second at Dix Park. The festival will include other names such as City Girls, Sean Paul and Jessie Reyez on the first as well as Summer Walker and Waka Flocka Flame on the second. In 2022, an estimated 80,000 people attended the festival after a years-long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Comparatively, the festival held in 2019 attracted a crowd of 40,000 for just one day. In national news, a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Pennsylvania announced a new policy banning children under the age of 16 from entering the restaurant without an adult present. According to WSBTV, the Royersford Pennsylvania restaurant said it made the decision because of poor behavior on the part of children who had been dropped off at a local bounce park and then walked over the Chick-Fil-A. The restaurant said the children are loud, use explicit language, throw trash and food on the floor, vandalize furniture, steal decorations and disrespect employees. The announcement was made on the restaurant's facebook page. Now to sports. App state men's and women's basketball are set to play in the sun belt tournament in Pensacola this week. The women's basketball team will play tonight against Louisiana at 8:30 pm. The men's basketball team will play against South Alabama on Thursday at 12:30. Both teams will need to win the sun belt tournament to play in the postseason, so it is win or go home for both teams. App state baseball's best start to a season since 2010 has unfortunately come to an end. The team got shut out by East Tennessee State 5-0 to drop their record to 7-1 on the season. The Mountaineers will try to rebound from the disappointing game this weekend when they play a three game series against Gardner Webb for their first games in Boone of the season. The 20th ranked App State wrestling team will host the Southern Conference wrestling tournament in the Holmes convocation center this Saturday. Doors will open at 9am, and matches will take place from 10am to 7pm to determine the Southern Conference wrestling champion. This has been your Wednesday morning sports report, and it is now time for your Boone Weather Report. And now for a special weather report by booneweather.com! Today will be a mostly sunny day with a high of 64 and a low of 50. There is a chance for some light showers late at night so stay dry!

Leave it to J. Cole to bless fans with one hell of a surprise like this. Today (March 31), the Fayetteville star and his Dreamville camp — Ari Lennox, J.I.D, Bas, EARTHGANG, Cozz, Lute, and Omen — connect with DJ Drama for D-Day: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape, which is expected to feature both unheard tracks and previously released cuts like J.I.D's “Ambassel,” a standout effort from the Madden NFL 22 Soundtrack. D-Day is also being released in conjunction with this year's Dreamville Festival, which takes place this weekend in Raleigh, NC, and (in addition to the aforementioned) will see a wealth of support from Lil Baby, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Kehlani, Moneybagg Yo, Bia, Rico Nasty, Wale, WizKid, Morray, Fivio Foreign, Blxst and more. Drama will also be in the proverbial building to perform a Gangsta Grillz set alongside Lil Wayne, Jeezy, and T.I. It's been a few years since the Dreamville collective came together for the third installment of their Revenge of the Dreamers series, which contained a healthy 18 cuts and a slew of outside contributions from the like of DaBaby, Reason, Childish Major, Yung Baby Tate, Guapdad 4000, Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign, Smino, and Deante' Hitchcock. The project proved to be a huge success for all parties involved, landing at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to an impressive 115,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. The following year, a Director's Cut upgrade of Revenge of the Dreamers III surfaced with 12 additional songs. As far as Cole himself, last year saw him liberating his sixth studio LP The Off-Season, another chart-topper from the camp (and Cole‘s sixth). He later promoted the album via a tour of the same name, bringing along 21 Savage and Morray for additional support. source: J.
