Join us on this jam-packed episode of Off the Screen, where the crew reunites after a two‑week break and dives into everything from bucket‑list vacations to NBA playoff drama. First, Mike transports us to the sun‑drenched shores of Grand Cayman, recounting days spent swimming with stingrays, marveling at bioluminescent plankton and starfish, followed by pure relaxation with tropical drinks. We contrast that with another host's whirlwind weekend at the final Dreamville Festival, complete with unforgettably electric performances from Lil Wayne, J. Cole, and J.I.D., plus a pit stop at Congaree National Park. The gang debates the toll of music festivals on the over‑30 set (“first time I fell asleep standing up!”) and shares plans for upcoming adventures—from knocking out national parks (four down, fifty‑nine to go!) to birthday getaways in Dallas. On the work front, one co‑host celebrates landing his first tech‑sector role with steady 8–4 hours, while another teases vlog‑camera upgrades to chronicle every trip. We discuss tips for “Shot on iPhone” credits and whether the Gateway Arch truly deserves its National Park status. Then, we shift into full-court press on the NBA's play‑in games and seeding battles: the Orlando Magic's decisive win over the Hawks, Trae Young's fiery ejection, and the Warriors edging out the Grizzlies for the No. 7 seed. Tune in for hot takes on game‑winning streaks—Steph Curry's late‑game barrage versus Desmond Bane's rookie‑rebound heroics—and a lively debate over phantom fouls on Butler and Poole. We preview Round 1 matchups (Magic vs. Celtics, Warriors vs. Rockets), assess Cinderella potential, and share insider betting stories (sorry, Jordan!).Whether you're chasing sun, stats, or slam dunks, this episode has something for every Off the Screen fan. Don't miss the banter, the travel envy, and the insider hoops breakdown—it's our most eclectic catch‑up yet!

Mal has a legendary monologue, letting us know exactly how this weekend marked the end of J. Cole's career and legacy as a GOAT. We contemplate whether the Big 2 will continue their bromance or end it, and Mal gives us some insight as to why Drake didn't show up to Dreamville Festival (46:45:). Mal (again) challenges Kendrick to drop his Drake diss so that hip-hop can be saved (57:05), and finally the heat is off Cole and on to Wale and Meek Mill, who were arguing on twitter at the time of taping (1:27:15). Mal challenges Rory to find a better rapper than Drake (excluding Jay-Z) (1:38:57), and it is once again himself vs. the room. Also discussed is the Northeast earthquake (1:54:59), GloRilla's new album and new beef (1:59:25), Megan Thee Stallion's philanthropic work, + more!Follow Rory: @ThisIsRoryFollow MAL: @MAL_ByTheWayFollow Demaris: @DemarisAGiscombeFollow Julian: @Julian__nicholas To watch the podcast on YouTube: https://bit.ly/NewRoryAndMALYouTube Don't forget to follow the podcast for free wherever you're listening or by using this link: https://bit.ly/NewRoryAndMAL Learn more about your ad choices. This week's episode, Bryson Tiller releases his self-titled album. Before getting into the album I give my thoughts on his career since his debut “TRAPSOUL.” (2:15) Next, I speak on the album and how it falls in line with male R&B acts not being the focus of music as of late. (5:55) Also, pre-recorded before the events of Dreamville Festival, J. Cole dropped a surprise album, “Might Delete Later.” I speak on the album and at the time gave Cole credit. (8:45) He recently apologized for his ‘7 Minute Drill' record, but beforehand I spoke on the song. (14:10) Finally, Glorilla's new album leads to a war of words with City Girl's JT. (22:25) Music by: Eazzy Will

Timing is everything, had I did this show Friday the narrative would have been much different. However following the events that took place after the surprise release of J. Cole's mixtape “Might Delete Later” we are left with wondering why he entered his hat in the race at all. The talk of Thursday night heading into Friday was the response titled “7 Minute Drill”. Maybe that was how long it took Cole to regret his move as just a couple days later he took the stage at his “Dreamville Festival” denouncing what he had done. I give my opinion on why his reasoning is contradictory to his own words as of late and what it means for him going forward. Then I highlight all the music that's been lost in the shuffle due to all the back and forth by the “Big 3”. All that and more on episode 234 of Unprofessional AF! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/unprofessionalafpodcast/message
