Raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Ian discovered his faith in his late teens and subsequently studied theology at Edinburgh University. Joe Hall is the minister of Bon Accord Free Church in Aberdeen. Joe was born and raised in Romford, Essex, and came to a personal Christian faith as a teenager. He moved to Edinburgh in 2012 at the age of 18 to study Social Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh. There, he became a member of Grace Church Leith. His growing love for God and desire to serve him and his people led to a ministry apprenticeship at Grace Church Leith after he graduated. Over these 2 years he studied at the Cornhill Training Course in Glasgow, which deepened his knowledge and love of the Bible, and laid a foundation for future study and ministry. After three years of subsequent study at Edinburgh Theological Seminary, Joe was licensed last week by the Presbytery of Edinburgh and Perth. Joe's wife, Susy, grew up in Derbyshire, where her father was the pastor in a local church. She went on to study medicine at the University of Bristol, before moving to Edinburgh where she eventually worked in paediatric emergency medicine. It was at Grace Church Leith that Susy and Joe met. They are expecting their first child in December this year. It was “a revival of Reformed confessionalist theology in the Netherlands roughly beginning with the rise of Kuyper as a theology, with the founding of the Vrije Universiteit in 1880, the formation of the Gereformeerde Kerken in 1892, and its systematization in the theological output of Herman Bavinck (p. 4).” Cory C. Brock is minister at St. Columba's Free Church of Scotland in Edinburgh and adjunct lecturer in theology at Edinburgh Theological Seminary and Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Perkins has edited a new edition of Miller's Presbyterianism: Its History, Doctrine, Government, and Worship, which has been published by Log College Press. Samuel Miller, the first professor of Ecclesiastical History and Church Government at Princeton Theological Seminary and a prolific author, published this introduction and defense of Presbyterianism in 1835. Originally titled Presbyterianism: The Truly Primitive and Apostolical Constitution of the Church of Christ, Miller covers the basics of Presbyterian belief and practice, grounding his material in the Scriptures primarily and church history secondarily. Dr. David Strain was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He holds degrees from Duncan Jordanstone College of Art, Trinity College Glasgow/School of Divinity, Edinburgh Theological Seminary in Edinburgh, and Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in the Free Church of Scotland in September 2003, and has held pastoral charges in London, England, and Columbus, MS. Since May 2013, David has served on the pastoral staff of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson and was installed as Senior Minister in May 2014. He was awarded a Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson) in 2016. David and his wife, Sheena, have two teenage boys. Our guest today is Dr Alistair Wilson, Mission and New Testament lecturer at Edinburgh Theological Seminary. Alistair has a PhD in New Testament studies from the University of Aberdeen. After graduating from the University of Edinburgh and the Free Church College (now Edinburgh Theological Seminary), Alistair was an Associate Pastor in Inverness before moving to Highland Theological College where he taught New Testament from 1996 to 2005. He was then appointed to Dumisani Theological Institute, King William's Town, South Africa, becoming Principal in 2006. Alistair returned to Highland Theological College in January 2015, where he has taught until the present time. As well as having written several published works, Alistair has been Editor of The Scottish Bulletin of Evangelical Theology and New Testament Review Editor of Themelios. He is an Adjunct (‘Extraordinary' in South African terminology) Professor of New Testament in the Research Unit for Reformed Theology, North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the New Testament Society of South Africa. Rev. David Robertson is a Scottish minister who was Minister of St. Peter's Free Church in Dundee, Scotland. He graduated from both the University of Edinburgh with a degree in History and from Free Church College (now Edinburgh Theological Seminary) with a degree in Theology. He was also a former club chaplain of Dundee F.C. In 2019, David left St Peters to become the Director of Third Space, a new evangelism initiative of City Bible Forum. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, David was voted as one of the 100 most influential Christians in the UK on Archbishop Cranmer's Top 100 List. He has authored several books and regularly debates atheists on various topics related to God.

Unlike many of the other early Christian texts, the Gospel of John emphasizes the name of the Father alongside the name of Jesus—why? One reason, says Joshua Coutts, is because of the significance of God's name in the Old Testament book of Isaiah. Join us as we talk with Joshua Coutts about his recent publication, The Divine Name in the Gospel of John (Mohr Siebeck, 2017). Joshua Coutts is Assistant Professor of New Testament at Providence in Otterburne, Manitoba, Canada. He completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2016. Along with The Divine Name in the Gospel of John, he has published a number of articles in academic journals including Currents in Biblical Research and Scottish Bulletin of Evangelical Theology. Joshua has also taught at Regent College in Vancouver, Edinburgh Theological Seminary, Cornhill Training School in Glasgow, Prairie College in Alberta, and Evangelical Bible College in Zambia.
