It's Me, Edward Wayne Edwards, the Serial Killer You Never Heard Of by John A. CameronMeet Edward Wayne Edwards, the most evil serial killer you've never heard of. In this chilling case-by-case analysis and story of the killer's life, former detective John A. Cameron argues that Edwards was not only responsible for the five torture-murders he confessed to and was eventually convicted for, but for dozens more across the U.S., over decades. Tracing the murderer's life from his beginnings as a misguided boy who witnessed his mother's suicide, Cameron conducted hundreds of interviews, including exchanging phone calls and letters with the killer and interviewing his family. The result is a complex, terrifying, and fascinating analysis of Edwards' travels across the U.S. in the periods of his life: as a young itinerant handy man, an escaped fugitive on the run after a jailbreak, and of all things, an author on tour to promote a book about his life as a reformed criminal, followed years later by his arrest and confession. Each part of this haunting timeline is tied by Cameron to murder cases in the areas Edwards lived, based on his MO and his sick joy in taunting police, attending trials on the cases, and getting people wrongfully convicted for the murders he claims he did. These cases and ties include links to the famed Zodiac Killer, and more.https://amzn.to/3OccAeu

In episode 22 of Badger Bizarre, Scott and Mickey discuss the crime-ridden life of Edward Wayne Edwards and how he forever impacted a small community in southeast Wisconsin. In August of 1980, a young teenage couple in Fort Atkinson went missing and were later found murdered. For 30 years, their murder went unsolved, until a surpring tip was called in to Jefferson County authorities in 2009, leading to the arrest of their killer, Ed Edwards.  The arrest would open a Pandora's Box of other crimes Edwards committed, including confessions to several other murders. As his life of crime came to light, researchers and cold-case detectives today link Edwards to many other murders, some very famous, such as Jimmy Hoffa, Jon Benet Ramsey, and even the Black Dahlia, making Edwards, if true, potentially the most prolific serial killer in history.   Sources: Cameron, John -

This is the Expanded version of John Cameron's book "It's ME!" Forget everything you thought you thought you knew about the most publicly covered murders of our time. The evidence leads to one man committing the most chilling and widely known murders that have captivated the public's interest and caused terror throughout our communities including the Zodiac killings. Based on the investigation by veteran detective John Cameron and others contained in this book, Edward Edwards is also now linked to the murder of Steve Avery, the Black Dahlia, and Laci Peterson for which he set up Scott Peterson who is currently on death row for killing her. The evidence also strongly suggests that he killed JonBenet Ramsay and that he framed the parents whom were later exonerated.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseofmysteryradio. History's most infamous serial killers had calling cards, from names and symbols to systems and strategies of predation. But the only thing tying together the story of Edward Wayne Edwards was his ability to resist definition. He was a robber and a self-proclaimed “reformed man.” He was a father and a Zodiac Killer enthusiast. He was a vocal opponent of crime while murderously slipping under the radar. To this day, it's unclear all that he got away with. This week's sponsors: Daily Harvest - Go to dailyharvest.com/daisy to get up to $40 off your first box. Meet Edward Wayne Edwards, the most evil serial killer you've never heard of. These cases and ties include links to the famed Zodiac Killer, and more.3 months ago #a., #by, #cameron, #edward, #edwards, #heard, #it's, #john, #killer, #me, #never, #of, #opperman, #serial, #the, #wayne, #you

Edward Wayne Edwards was a manipulative, abusive, narcissistic, compulsive liar who had spent most of his life as a criminal. After his release in 1967, he claimed to be a reformed member of society, touting his life lessons to audiences across the country. That claim, however, couldn't be further from the truth. The truth was that Edward was a serial killer, and no one knew about his crimes until his daughter turned him in over 30 years after his first known murder.Sources:https://ededwardsserialkiller.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/metamorphosis-of-a-criminal.pdfhttps://chameleontruecrimestories.com/who-killed-patricia-kalitzke-and-duane-bogle-f327c5a4baa1https://members.huntakiller.com/blog-articles/growing-up-with-a-serial-killer-how-april-balascio-turned-her-father-inhttps://www.elle.com/culture/movies-tv/a28396659/april-balascio-interview-the-clearing-podcast/Metamorphosis of a Criminal by Edward Wayne Edwardshttps://www.google.com/amp/s/heavy.com/news/laci-peterson-autopsy-photos-murder/amp/Geauga Maple Leaf presshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3TB-OTN-RMhttps://defrostingcoldcases.com/life-sentence-in-1980-high-school-sweethearts-murders/https://wiki.wcpl.info/w/The_Murder_of_William_Lavaco_and_Judith_Straubhttps://projects.jsonline.com/topics/unsolved/chapter-8-ill-see-her-in-heaven.htmlhttps://www.beaconjournal.com/news/20190823/may-5-2010-serial-killer-suspect-reportedly-confesses-to-1977-park-deathshttps://moonlightmurder.tumblr.com/post/190315128821/why-edward-wayne-edwards-is-the-perfect-suspectThe Clearing 2019 Podcast by Josh Dean with Pineapple Street Media and Gimlet Mediahttps://madison.com/news/local/crime_and_courts/edwards-confesses-to-killing-man-he-considered-foster-son/article_99483f50-7a15-11df-a168-001cc4c03286.amp.htmlSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/Killerlocalepodcast)

The story we’re talking about today is a serial killer, as cold blooded as they come. It’s an interesting case because his own family believes he’s guilty of way more than he actually has been accused of. When the daughter of the killer heard about a series of crimes called The Sweetheart Murders, she put the clues together and realized that her father was responsible, and turned him in. She also remembers being a child, forced to watch videos relating to the Zodiac Killer, when he would scream “THAT’S NOT HOW IT HAPPENED”. She believes he’s responsible for those murders too. This is serial killer, Edward Wayne Edwards. The Parallax Views #HalloweenPodcastMassacre continues as the 13 O'Clock Podcast's Jenny Ashford returns to discuss her new game design venture Giallo Games, based on the 70 Italian horror/thriller movies of the 60s-80s, and spooky cases from her three volume book series The Faceless Villain: A Collection of the Eeriest Unsolved Murders of the 20th Century. We begin the discussion by talking about horror movies and Jenny's various board games based on giallos, or Italian murder mystery thrillers, like Dario Argento's Suspiria (arguably not a giallo but it gets lumped in) and Mario Bava's Blood and Black Lace. We talk about two games in particular, The Three Sorrows and A Crimson Drop on a Crystal Palette. We also talk about the various giallos that Jenny is a fan of like All the Colors of the Dark starring Euro-starlet Edwige Fenech and Lucio Fulci's The Psychic. And, of course, we take a detour to talk about the greatness of John Carpenter. And we note how Mario Bava's Bay of Blood aka Twitch of the Death Nerve is a proto-slasher as well as chatting about the weirdness of Dario Argento's cinematic collaborations with his daughter Asia Argento.Additionally, we talk about women in horror fandom and why women are attracted to the genre despite it's penchant for misogyny. In this regard we also discuss rape/revenge films like I Spit on Your Grave and Abel Ferrara's Ms. 45. Is there something cathartic about such films for some female viewers? We talk about how I Spit on Your Grave is completely unglamorous in it's depiction of violence against women whereas many films of its type glamorize said violence. We also talk about how horror films have been influenced by women and in this regard mention how Daria Nicolodi was instrumental in the early film's of her former husband Dario Argento. Then we pivot to the real-life horror of unsolved murders that Jenny writes about in the 3 volumes of The Faceless Villain trilogy. First, of course, we delve into how Jenny got the title for the series. Then we discuss a question that immediately pops up for readers of the trilogy: Why Iowa? In other words, why do so many cold cases occur in the mid-west. This leads us to a discussion of the Black Dahlia case and the theories of Steve Hodel, son of Black Dahlia murder suspect George Hodel. Additionally, we talk about ax murders and why they're connected to so many unsolved murders in the early 20th century. From there we delve into a potpourri of different cases from the trilogy including:- Unsolved murders that have been tied into the JFK assassination conspriacy theories, specifically the shooting of JFK's alleged mistress, who may have introduced the late President to LSD, Mary Pinochet Myers- Lover's lane murders and how they're not just something you see in movies or urban legends. In this regard we talk about the Texarkana Moonlight Murders and the movie The Town That Dreaded Sundown; this leads to an odd sidetrack conversation about the Amityville Horror and paranormal investigator Ed and Lorraine Warren, now famous for one of their investigations being the basis of The Conjuring- The murder of Larry Peyton and Beverly Allan; the potential connection of "The Serial Killer You've Never Heard Of" Edward Wayne Edwards; the problem with trying to close cold cases with characters like Edward Wayne Edwards or Henry Lee Lucas- Jane murders including the Lady of the Dunes case and it's potential connection to Steve Spielberg's Jaws thanks to... Stephen King's son Joe Hill? Yep. you read that right; oh, and one of the suspects is the notorious mobster Whitey Bulger- The gruesome cases of the Houston Icebox murders, the Tattington suitcase murder, the Pink Socks/Fred the Head murder, and the Nude in the Nettles- Hitchhikers murders including the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders whose suspects include Ted Bundy, the Zodiac Killer, the Hillside Stranglers- Unsolved disappearances; the chilling case of Tara Calico's disappearance and the polaroid photos found that may or may not show or tied up along with a young boy- The Smiley Face murders, the so-called "Manchester Pusher", and conspiracy theories This Episode Brought to You By:The War State:The Cold War Origins of the Military-Industrial Complex and the Power Elite, 1945-1963byMichael SwansonofThe Wall Street Window

The Clearing is a podcast that covers the story of a woman who put the pieces together and figured out her father was a serial killer. Forty-year-old April Balascio uncovered several stories, put the pieces together of her childhood and realized her father, Edward Wayne Edwards, was a serial killer. In 2009, she turned him in to the cops and didn’t talk to anyone about the story until 2016. The Clearing podcast host, Josh Dean who is also a journalist and author, joins Mary Payne and explains the journey that April went through from having the suspicion that her father might be a serial killer to unraveling the puzzle pieces that ultimately led her to turn her own father in. Josh reveals that this story was easy to tell and capture in podcast form due to the mere fact that Edward had recorded everything that he did. Josh speculates that this was due to Edward’s narcissism and the grandiose view he had of himself. They discuss the various murders and the coincidences that April discovered prior to turning Edward into the police. After much investigation, Edward eventually confessed to two double murders and the murder of a man nicknamed “Danny Boy.” Mary Payne and Josh talk about the punishment that Edward wanted for his crimes and the lengths he went to in order to achieve it. Was he wanting to continue to manipulate the system the way he had his whole life or was it him accepting his punishment? Josh makes a convincing argument for the outcome being exactly what Edward wanted. Be sure to go and listen to The Clearing! Catch up on all of the Payne in the Pod episodes, here. In Australia, a fire at a farm caused a massive bull semen explosion. The New York Times broke a bombshell story about Brett Kavanaugh, but completely botched the rollout, yet again. On March 9, 2009, Edward Wayne Edwards’ daughter, April, watched a television documentary profiling the August 9, 1980 murders of Tim Hack and Kelly Drew in Watertown, Wisconsin.  April remembered living in the area briefly around the time of the murders and that her father worked at the reception hall where the victims were last seen.   She contacted authorities and reported her tip.  Edwards had been questioned as a person of interest in the case prior to fleeing with his family.  DNA linked Edwards to the Wisconsin murders and he was arrested in Louisville, Kentucky on July 30, 2009.   Edwards went on to confess to a 1977 murder of a couple in Ohio and the 1993 murder of his adoptive son for insurance money.  Shortly after Edwards’ case made the news, a retired Montana homicide detective began a quest to link Edward to an unsolved Great Falls double homicide committed in January, 1956.  Soon, the detective believed he’d linked Edwards to countless murders, beginning in 1945 and included allegations of wrongful arrest and conviction in numerous cases.  In Part 3, we’ll conclude our look at Edwards with a discussion of the murders he allegedly committed between 1990 and his arrest in 2009 and we’ll look at the detective’s allegations of wrongful conviction and that Edwards framed others for the crimes he committed. Edward Wayne Edwards was a career criminal, who wouldn't be caught for any of the murders he committed until thirty years later when his daughter sees a program about a cold case on television. Her tip leads to Edwards confessing to five homicides, and it's likely that these weren't his only murders. As it turns out, Edwards wrote an autobiography in the early 70's, detailing his criminal escapades.

Meet Edward Wayne Edwards, the most evil serial killer you've never heard of. These cases and ties include links to the famed Zodiac Killer, and more. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

For my 150 episode a great story. Making a Murderer has captured peoples thoughts because it is an amazing story. But if Steven Avery was framed and he didn't kill Teresa Halbach who did? Well this theory will blow your mind. How about a serial killer who not only kills people but frames people for the murders. I know enjoy the story of Edward Wayne Edwards. Stay after the credits to hear audio for the FBI agent that cracked the case. Enjoy!
