Eric Nuttall joins the Oil Ground Up podcast to discuss what he believes is the largest energy supply shock in modern history following the prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz. He explains why markets remain dangerously complacent despite massive global inventory drawdowns, rising geopolitical risks, and the potential for structurally higher oil prices well into the future. The conversation dives into why energy equities still appear deeply undervalued, how Canadian oil producers could benefit from a long-term supply crunch, and why Nuttall sees a generational opportunity emerging in the sector. Nuttall also outlines the risks investors should be watching closely, including possible U.S. export restrictions, weakening demand from higher fuel prices, and continued volatility tied to Middle East tensions. The discussion further explores the future of U.S. shale growth, Canada's pipeline constraints, and the strategic importance of energy infrastructure in an increasingly unstable global market. From inventory math to capital flows, this episode offers a deep dive into the macro forces reshaping global oil markets and the investment landscape around them.

In this week's Stansberry Investor Hour, Dan welcomes value investor Tobias Carlisle back to the show. Tobias is the founder and portfolio manager of Acquirers Funds, a deep-value investment firm. He's also the host of a podcast and the author of numerous books, including The Acquirer's Multiple.   Tobias kicks things off by discussing the performance of his energy fund and the energy sector. He likes to compare gold with oil to see how their pricing has moved in relation to each other over the past year. He thinks oil companies are still cheap and believes that we haven't seen "peak oil" prices yet. He also gives the tickers of two energy companies that he's confident are good places to put your money to take advantage of the energy crisis. (0:00)   Next, Tobias shares two other energy stocks that he's fond of. While these companies aren't as stable as the previous two due to their locations, they possess quality shale sites that make them compelling considerations. Tobias then shifts his attention to two other companies focused on the fertilizer and copper industries. With the first company, he emphasizes that folks need to eat and that the company will aid in food production and remain strong, especially since "nitrogen-based fertilizer feeds half the world." And with the second company, he believes that we're currently in the middle of a cycle for copper demand. (14:52)   Finally, Tobias gives his thoughts on the housing sector. While many investors might avoid it because housing sales are lower than they were at the bottom of the great financial crisis (due to high home prices), he believes that buying now and holding on will pay off when it springs back to life. He also makes the case that in most markets you want to be a contrarian because you can buy good companies at low price-to-earnings multiples. And he cautions investors not to think about companies as blank tickers but as functioning, moving entities that have work put into them that can break them out of stagnancy. (28:34)

Ryan Detrick, Chief Market Strategist at Carson Group, and Sonu Varghese, Chief Macro Strategist at Carson Group, are joined by two sharp voices from the industry: Frank Cappelleri, founder of CappThesis, and Sam Ro, founder of TKer.Fair warning: Sonu joins live from Epcot, Ryan gets an unexpected visit from housekeeping mid-stream, and the conversation somehow wraps up with a heated debate about Predator Badlands. But in between, there's a lot of substance. They dig into what's been driving market volatility, why closing near the lows matters more than the headlines, and what the technicals are actually telling us right now. Frank shares his screen and walks through charts on trading boxes, the VIX, and the tech-to-energy rotation that's hitting historic extremes. Sam breaks down why diversification still makes sense even when everything seems to move together, and what consumer spending data is, and isn't, telling us. Sonu connects the dots between oil supply disruptions, the Fed's difficult position, and what it would actually take to spark a near-term rally.Key Takeaways:Closes near the lows matter: 11 of the last 12 sessions closing weak signals bears are in controlTech vs. energy rotation: The ratio just hit its lowest weekly RSI reading in recorded historyPrivate credit check-in: Why it doesn't look systemic, yet,  and what to watchThe Fed's dilemma: Inflation keeps running hot; how long can they stay patient?Bitcoin watch: Still hasn't made a new low and that might mean somethingDiversification reminder: Mag 7 drawdowns are a painful but timely lessonFrank Cappelleri and Sam Ro are not affiliated with CWM, LLC. He sees increasing geopolitical risk in the larger oil and gas companies. He also says that many of them have lost a lot of value as well. He then discusses the two biggest global risks in the oil and gas sector that he cautions investors to stay away from. Despite these challenges, Josh says that smaller oil and gas producers are where he sees the best opportunity in the sector. (0:00)   Next, Josh shares why he chose oil and gas as his primary investment focus. He also reflects on the risks and mistakes that led him to the successes that he has today. Josh follows that up by addressing how technological advancements have contributed to the decrease in the oil-rig count. However, despite this appearing to be a negative scenario, Josh says that tailwinds are emerging from production going down. And he believes that oil production is going to be a critical topic during the 2028 presidential election, if not sooner. (17:22)   Finally, Josh goes into depth on a company that he's fond of. He also gives his thoughts on the future of oil and where he thinks certain subsectors could grow, especially with regard to demand. But he stresses that he's not a universal commodity bull and says there's one commodity that he's less optimistic about. However, investors should still be careful overall about where they put their money. (42:17)

This Weekend's Show we are replaying two big-picture conversations from earlier in the week. Craig Hemke explains why this metals run looks structural (not just momentum), while Dan Steffens lays out how a “glut” narrative in oil could flip, at the same time LNG-driven natural gas demand tightens and energy stocks offer dividends, buybacks, and M&A-driven upside.   Segment 1 & 2 - Craig Hemke, founder and editor of TF Metals Report, joins the KE Report to recap an extraordinary year for gold and silver, explaining the structural forces behind record-high prices, why mining shares remain undervalued, and what macro signals - like central bank policy and yield-curve control - could drive the next phase of the precious-metals bull market into 2026. Click here to visit Craig's website - TF Metals Report - https://www.tfmetalsreport.com/   Segment 3 & 4 - Dan Steffens, President of Energy Prospectus Group, joins the KE Report to share his outlook for oil and natural gas heading into 2026, including why modestly higher prices could still drive strong cash flow for producers. He also highlights standout large-cap, mid-cap, dividend, and royalty stocks, discusses M&A opportunities, and explains how he balances income, growth, and risk across his energy portfolios. A subdued and underwhelming session for the Aussie market, with stocks hovering around flat levels late in the day as energy names did most of the damage. Steve and Laura unpack weakness in Woodside after CEO Meg O’Neill announced her departure to take the top job at BP, mixed moves across the banks with CBA providing some support, and sharp falls among uranium stocks following a shock update from Boss Energy. There were brighter spots, including Bapcor jumping on a CEO change and Austal lifting after securing a $1 billion defence contract. Looking ahead, key US inflation data and several major central bank decisions are due in the next 24 hours. Host John Stepek speaks with Helen Jewell, International CIO of Fundamental Equities for EMEA at BlackRock, about an unexpectedly strong year for global equity markets — one in which most regions outside the US outperformed. Jewell explains why widespread diversification, renewed strength in European banks, and accelerating demand for energy infrastructure—driven largely by AI—are shaping her outlook for 2026. She also highlights key risks, including investor complacency, and argues that selective opportunities in European quality growth and UK small caps remain compelling despite recent volatility. Segment 1 & 2 - Dave Erfle, founder and editor of Junior Miner Junky, discussing gold's consolidation around a new floor near $4,000, silver's leadership as it builds support near $50, and the resulting strength and takeover activity among quality precious-metal miners. Doc Jones, private activist resource investor and influencer on Ceo.ca and X/Twitter, joins us for his outlook on the precious metals, base metals, and energy sector and how he is positioned in select stocks within his portfolio.   We start off getting the key macroeconomic factors that him more muted on outsized upside in both gold and silver, after such a big run in the precious metals related stocks so far this year, and really over the last few years.  He points out that over the last 3 years that many of the quality PM producers are up 5x-10x or more, and that he had some developers up as much as 15x, so it was prudent to start harvesting gains and raising cash to deploy in other commodities and opportunities that hadn't run as much.   With regards to the base metals companies, Doc Jones points out that a lot of the polymetallic deposits still have considerable exposure to gold, silver, platinum, and palladium as valuable co-credits.  He mentions the rationale for his long-standing interest and key portfolio positions in Emerita Resources (TSX.V: EMO) (OTCQB: EMOTF) and Magna Mining (TSX.V: NICU) (OTCQB: MGMNF); which both have exposure and leverage to a blend of critical minerals and precious metals. He also highlights a new portfolio position, Canadian Copper (CSE: CCI), which also has a solid mix of exposure to both industrial metals and PMs.   Wrapping up we shifted over to traditional energy getting his outlook on both oil and natural gas, but why he is favoring investing in Canadian heavy oil sands projects and natural gas projects.  He goes on to extol the benefits of picking up quality energy stocks that pay investors good dividends while they are waiting for fundamental company catalysts and higher future energy prices.  Doc Jones highlights Cardinal Energy Ltd. (TSX: CJ) as one example of such a company that he is positioned in.   *In full disclosure, Doc Jones holds a position in these companies discussed at the time of this recording, but is not compensated by any company to market them.  These are simply his views and opinions as to why he likes investing in them, but this is not investment advice.   Click here to follow Doc Jones on Ceo.ca   Click here to follow Doc Jones on X/Twitter   For more market commentary & interview summaries, subscribe to our Substacks:   The KE Report: https://kereport.substack.com/ Shad's resource market commentary: https://excelsiorprosperity.substack.com/     Investment disclaimer: This content is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. Sean Brodrick – Portfolio Strategies During The Pullback In Gold, Silver, Rare Earths, Antimony, and Energy Stocks

Sean Brodrick, Editor of Wealth Megatrends, Supercycle Investor, Resource Trader, and contributing analyst to Weiss Ratings Daily, joins us to outline strategies for portfolio management during the pullbacks in gold, silver, antimony, rare earths, and energy stocks.     Gold and silver are now retesting lower levels, in a corrective move that has been anticipated by many for some time.  If $4,000 support is tested and breaks, then Sean makes a case for solid technical support at $3850 and $3,700, and believes it is unlikely we'll see a move below those in the medium-term. Sean had been advising his subscribers to take partial profits in a number of precious metals stocks since October 14th. He was happy to have raised the cash to be able to redeploy it into meaningful pullbacks, which have begun since the Friday of last week and then accelerated down further on Tuesday's trading session.   He is quite interested to see how Q3 earnings season may trend starting with Newmont Corp's (NYSE: NEM, ASX: NEM) report afterhours this coming Thursday, and then filtering out into the rest of the senior and mid-tier PM producers. We discuss whether gold and silver need to keep hitting new all-time highs in the near-term to keep the momentum going in the PM stocks, or whether these stocks can actually keep making progress just based on rerating more in alignment with these higher underlying metals prices.     Next we got into the blistering rally higher that we've seen in some of the critical minerals stocks like antimony and rare earth stocks on the back of Chinese export bans sending prices skyrocketing.   He's got some exposure through United States Antimony Corp (NYSE:UAMY), and discussed their recent acquisition of another company to further grow their antimony and gold resources. Sean is also positioned in USA Rare Earth, Inc. (Nasdaq: USAR), because they have a compelling development project and domestic mine-to-magnet supply chain approach that may be able to attract some of those government funds earmarked for this sector.   Wrapping up Sean shifted over briefly to how traditional energy with the oil and gas stocks, and solar have remained in a slump, but that they may become a sector to follow, along with his ongoing interest in the next-gen defense stocks consider whether this could be a contrarian area to follow more closely in the commodities sector.   Click here to follow along with Sean's work at Weiss Ratings Daily and Wealth Megatrends   Click here to learn more about Resource Trader     For more market commentary & interview summaries, subscribe to our Substacks:   The KE Report: https://kereport.substack.com/   Shad's resource market commentary: https://excelsiorprosperity.substack.com/     Investment disclaimer: This content is for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, an offer, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security.
