Voice of the Black & Gold Max Bretos and co-host Steve Beitashour get right into the action by recapping a victorious Game 3 against Vancouver that once again saw Mati Bogusz rise to the moment to score the match- and series-winning goal. The win sets LAFC up for a Western Conference Semifinal showdown against another familiar Cascadian opponent in the Seattle Sounders. That momentous match is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23 at BMO Stadium. The fellas take a step back to look at the larger playoff picture across the league and how some chaotic results in the Eastern half of the bracket have redounded to LAFC's benefit should the team reach a record-tying third straight MLS Cup Final. Finally Max and Beita discuss the handful of LAFC players who have joined up with their nations for the international break and the benefits and concerns that brings for the Black & Gold. In the second half of the show, former player turned soccer pundit for ESPN Herculez Gomez joins the show to chop it about about everything from the status of El Traffico and player development work being done around MLS to the amazing career of Kei Kamara and what's going on with the USA and Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League.

Despite the tragic death of goldfish Dern, we have chosen to press on this week with our previously scheduled show - it is what they would have wanted.Nic got us rolling with the epic retelling of the third installment in the 'Meet The Parents' trilogy, 'Little Fockers'. This 2010 star studed film shows us the Fockers and De'Neros (Byrneses) 10 years on with the same ol' lack of communication leading to comedic misunderstanding...and they have two kids now too! Don't let the sarcasm fool you, this is a good movie, even if Dern only graces the screen as an ex-lover of Owen Wilson for about 6 minuets.Between the Derns we delve into the intricacies and politics of 'South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut' (1999) and its joining television series. We also discus the storied work of Richard Linklater and his next linear film project (which Nic is Hyped about). Finally Max brings us home with the small Dern, 'Recount', a 2008 HBO drama about the wildly messed up 2000 election. In this we see Dern in her glory portraying Katherine Harris (hot citrus Jesus politician) in her nutty and for sure payed off antics around the possible miscount in her state. This was a rollercoaster from start to finish and really fueled this podcasts stance that the Bush family runs America. Oh, and Keven Spacey shows up...so gross.Anyway, that is all we have for you this week, around the fire, spinning yards of Derns that was and were. Shock horror! Yet much to his amazement, an AT&T rep showed up at the Maxsters house on Thanksgiving Day to fix the lines coming into his home that had been chewed by a squirrel. Finally Max gets down to work by bringing up Trumps lament that there isn’t a news station sycophantic enough and that there should be a new state run channel that seems to say nothing but great things about the Trumpster. Next Max gets into the General Motors layoffs which are bad enough, but Max explains why some of this is market based, but some of it is also caused by Trump’s tariffs. But let’s not forget Saudi Arabia is going to invest $450b in the United States that will surely make up for the GM layoffs. Yeah, right! Although Max does deliver a real solution for the Trump to deliver to those laid off workers. Yes, use all the new US Steel plants that are to be built to hire some of these workers. This does get Max to the missed opportunity that Trump could literally have been a transformational president, although a symptom of all this is Trump surrounding himself with people like Paul Manafort who it turns out are not capable of outsmarting Robert Mueller.

Max starts off this show by lamenting that his glass of Scotch is 95% empty, so much so that Max’s long suffering producer Dan having listened to Max moan for too long drops everything to come in and refill the glass. Max does wonder when Paul Ryan will grow a pair, when Trump will tell the truth, and when Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity will actually tell the truth to their own audience. Although Max is feeling good about Trump's words of wisdom that hurricanes are “tremendously wet,” which is something Max had never heard before from a President. Ever. Such insight. Next Max reminds everyone, yet again that he did actually believe in several of Trump's policies, unfortunately Trump has failed miserably to deliver on any of them. Next Max has to jump into Trumps now infamous Tweet about how it is a Democrat plot to make him look bad when it was announced nearly 3000 people died in Puerto Rico. Then Max decides if anyone should be called “snowflakes” it should be Republicans. Everyone is out to get them, Google, Facebook, the press, Deep State, it’s amazing there are any Republicans in office at all. Max cannot resist one more dig at Geraldo Rivera. Max does have some good news though from the tax cut, it is now much cheaper to buy a corporate jet. Who says the tax cuts aren’t helping the middle class. Finally Max quotes one his favourite foils, Paul Ryan AKA the Cowardly Lion.

Max gets ready for the long weekend by reminding us that both Republicans and Democrats in DC are failing the average working man or woman, and also reminds us that many of the Trump policies from the campaign are ones that Max could believe in. This is what it has come to, Trump claims that China hacked Hillary Clinton's emails, so the FBI had to say this is not true. So Trump's own FBI tells him he is wrong. Yikes! Then Trump claims that the NBC Lester Holt interview was “fudged,” which makes Max ask is Trump simply like the old song “It wasn't me”? Deny everything until people question whether they are losing their minds. Next Max examines Trumps Tweets from the past few hours, which seem never ending, attacking the press, which Max thought was protected by the Constitution something so-called Conservatives used to care about.  Although Trump does find time to attack books, Google and to state that he would like to see a Conservative social media site. It's called the Internet Donald, although Max does take the time to explain to Donald how all this could work. Finally Max explains how Trump says the Democrats could be violent unless the evangelicals help him out.

Trump is not invited to McCain's funeral, and as if to place an exclamation point, McCain had a statement read out after his death reminding us what a great country the United States is. And in attempting to catch up from the week he missed, Max does find time to talk about Fox and Friends even though any interview on that program is so lightweight it would essentially float away like a feather. Next Max jumps into the new trade deal with Mexico, which turns out to be nothing more than a reordering of NAFTA and even then needs to be ratified by congress. Max then jumps into Donald Trump and Scientology and what it takes to believe something that when you realise makes no sense whatsoever you are able to keep believing it through thick and thin. Finally Max explains that preschoolers are probably the smartest human beings on the planet.

Max also spends a few minutes answering an email about where the picture of the Max Miller Dog was taken. Then having got all the important items out of the way, Max digs into what's been going on, and naturally he has to start with Rudy Giuliani, who seems to be slowly losing his mind, and perhaps not doing his best job for his number client, the Donster after all. Of course Max has to focus on Rudy's words of wisdom, “No one can be sure of anything.” Hmmmm. Increase the med dosage Rudy. Max then figures out what the problem is with Rudy and the Donald, they are both patients of Dr. Spaceman from 30 Rock. Max does find time to remind Rudy that it is in fact illegal to obtain information about an opposite politician from a foreign power for your use during a federal election. Next Max reminds us of all the wacky off the wall nutty things that Alex Jones has said, and reminds us that Donald Trump is fan. How do we know? He told him on Alex's show. He starts off with Trump's already infamous meeting with Putin and reminds us we have no idea what was agreed to, and reminds us that had Clinton or Obama done this, then Shallow Hal (Sean Hannity) would have had a stroke on live TV. It's made worse of course that Trumps own people have no idea what was discussed with Putin, but Max does have one fact, Putin gave Trump his annual performance review and it was probably very good. Max then reminds us that why should we care about Russia, given that Russia's GDP per person is the same as Mexico, and their entire GDP is the same as Italy's? Next Max gets back into that helpless gimboid Carter Page who seems to have been born with a permanent foot in his mouth. Then Max goes over how the phrase should not be “America First” but really “Citizens First,” as a president should represent all Americans when it comes to the security and safety of its citizens. Max also goes over yet again about Trump's mental issues when Trump stated that is father was born in Germany….um.. not true. Trumps dad was born in the US. Next Max gets into all the payoff and affairs that Trump seems to have had and how Mrs. Trump cried when she found out Trump had won the election. No wonder. Next Max quotes an amazing observation on the trade wars which he believes sums up the issues we are now facing.
