Olivia sits down with success & money psychologist Farhana Goga to dig into the science and soul of why we respond the way we do—and how we can change it.Farhana explains what neural activation really is, how it ties into subconscious programming, and why we're not actually wired to “step outside our comfort zone”—we're meant to expand it. (And Farhana breaks down exactly why it works.)* Why your old beliefs about money, visibility, or worth might not even be yours—and how to let them go.* If you've done all the mindset work and still feel stuck, your body might be holding on to something your brain can't logic away.* Not into visualizing? Farhana shares what to do instead—yes, even if you “can't see the apple.”* The truth about perfectionism, self-trust, and what your nervous system needs to finally feel safe enough to grow.

What is the correct approach to a maintenance case? Listen to Sally Harrison KC (St John's Buildings) and Farhana Shahzady (Streathers Solicitors) tell us how it is done. Sally reminds us of the guidance of Mr Justice Peel in WC v HC (Financial Remedies Agreements) (Rev1) [2022] EWFC 22 (22 March 2022) https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWFC/HCJ/2022/22.htmlwhen thinking about the quantum of a maintenance order. Mr Justice Peel found that needs are an elastic concept, to be judged by reference to consideration of financial needs and obligations, whether there are children, and the age of the parties. We discuss how the length of the marriage really impacts on how much the standard of living is taken into account. Farhana reminds of guidance of Mr Justice Mostyn in SS v NS (Spousal Maintenance) (Rev 1) [2014] EWHC 4183 (Fam).https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Fam/2014/4183.html Sally and Farhana discuss the distinction between cases involving wealthy families where the Court may well be inclined to make a Duxbury award, as opposed to need based income awards in the majority of cases. We discuss the overall impression that Courts are being quite restrictive on terms and quantum of maintenance at present. When talking about capitalising maintenance awards, Sally wrestles with the discrepancy between the Ogden tables having a -0.25% rate of return in England & Wales, as opposed to Duxbury's 3.75% rate of return after inflation of 3%.Sally considers the following cases:HC v FW [2017] EWHC 3162 (Fam) (29 November 2017) https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Fam/2017/3162.htmlTattersall Z (No.5) (Enforcement) [2024] EWFC 44 (04 March 2024)https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWFC/HCJ/2024/44.html Farhana tells us why it is important to consider the impact of menopause, when considering maintenance quantum, term and nominal maintenance. She shares the details of her survey about the impact of maintenance in family law and financial remedy cases. Resolution will be releasing a spousal maintenance handbook in Summer 2024. Please check the website for details.

Youtube version https://youtu.be/uHZFscSx--M Youtube https://youtu.be/uHZFscSx--M https://www.farbeyondfit.com Hi, I am Farhana Like the Rising Phoenix, one must break free of the conditioning that created us in order to rise from the ashes. Resurrected and reborn. Living a life governed by you and not by what has happened to you. If healing could be accomplished with just love and light, then we would all be living our best lives. Healing requires an understanding of the diverse spectrum of human emotions created by trauma, experiences and conditioning. Beneath those emotions lies the hidden gem of insight, balance and calm. It is only when we face our shadows we can uncover our light and a long-lasting wisdom. It is only when we bring together all the subtle bodies; emotional, spiritual, physical can we make lifestyle and lifelong changes. As a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Specialist, I have been coaching clients to reach their fitness goals for over 10 years. In December 2021, I expanded my training business and went virtual, allowing me to provide my services globally. I began my healing journey after the sudden loss of a dear friend. Learning several Reiki modalities; Usui, Karuna®, Angelic, I was able to heal a lot of my suppressed emotions. After finding D-Codes™, my journey accelerated tenfold. Not only have I learned to manage the grief but I have also cleared past conditioning and beliefs, that kept me repeating the same patterns: "I'm not good enough." "What do I have to share with others?" "Who am I to start my own business?" Sounds familiar?
Divorce for Muslim Women & Islamic Rights [Part3] with Muallimah Farhana Hathurani by Radio Islam
On 30th January 2024, Farhana Mayer presented a research seminar at AMI on ‘Qur'anic Principles of Integral Ecology', based on her publication Praise to God, Lord of the Worlds, An Introduction to Qur'anic Ecology and Resonances with Laudato Si' (Laudato Si' Research Institute, Oxford, 2023). In her presentation, having highlighted that integral ecology is based on the idea that everything is interconnected and includes socio-economic as well as environmental matters, she explained how the Qur'anic integral ecological perspectives are founded on the scriptural viewpoints of: unity and the interconnectedness of God, humanity and the cosmos (tawḥīd); all creation as ‘signs of God' (āyāt Allāh) and constituting a book of revelation; and humankind's role as the divinely-chosen deputy/successor on earth (khalīfah fi'l-arḍ). She discussed how the key Qur'anic ethical virtues of justice (ʿadl), equitability (qisṭ), balance (mīzān/taʿādul), moderation (wasaṭīyah), and above all mercy (raḥmah) are applicable to integral ecology. Unpacking these, she related them to the principles enshrined in the Islamic names of God (asmāʾ Allāh al-ḥusnā) which, in addition to providing a portrait of God, also serve as an ethical framework within which to position good environmental and socio-economic practices. Describing the principles of the divine names as the ultimate scales, she drew attention to the pivotal role of raḥmah in configuring balance. Furthermore, she related the divine names to humankind's God-endowed nature (fiṭrah), reinforcing the theological concept of humankind as deputies on earth. The ecological and environmental implications of the above were highlighted, including the evident imperatives for balanced, moderate, just, equitable and merciful ways for humanity to engage with each other, with the other living creatures on earth, and with regard to the planet and its resources.

"Why are we tested?" "What is the purpose of this test?" "How does creating a relationship with the Quran exactly help me in my tests?" These are questions that cross our minds when we face hardships. We know Allah is there to help us, we know we are rewarded, and we know the Quran is our guidance through difficulty. However, for some reason, the burden of hardship continues to overwhelm us. To discuss this important topic, I have teamed up with Anse Dr. Farhana Yunus from Rabata for this takeover episode. She sheds light on why we are tested and how we can find comfort in such painful trials. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ This episode is sponsored by Rabata. Rabata has opened registrations for their Islamic courses for summer 2023. This semester offers a variety of classes, including Arabic, Tajweed, and Islamic science courses. Welcome back to part two of the mini-series Momentum vs Perfection! This week Tom Rivett-Carnac and Fiona McRaith deepen their exploration of the tensions in the climate movement outlined in episode one, and look to see how we might begin to move past the current impasse to accelerate action in this decisive decade. Journey with Tom, Fiona and their guests as they seek to answer the burning questions that they hope might unlock a trajectory to collaborative, joyful action. Some of these questions include: Is a rebuilding of trust and understanding among the different actors key? What part does the ‘moveable middle' play on the spectrum of momentum and perfection. How do we ensure inclusivity and engagement of those whose voices are not currently represented in the wider movement? How do these divisions present in the corporate world where the sense of urgency is well embedded but transition to action is hesitant? What role can impartial actors and data play in pushing forward the momentum and perfection agendas? Can the capitalist spirit ever be used as a force to accelerate change as long as it is rooted in good intention? Is connection and personal relationships key to building the sense of common purpose and approach we need now? Helping Tom and Fiona to answer these questions is an incredible line-up of guest speakers: Justin Forsyth, Co-Founder Count Us In, a radical collaboration of business, faith, sport, and civil society to inspire a billion people to take climate action. Farhana Yamin, Lawyer/Author/Activist & Keynote Speaker. Farhana is an internationally recognized environmental lawyer, climate change and development policy expert. If you're currently going through divorce, or considering it - this episode is for you. Farhana Shahzady is a Director, Family Law Solicitor, Collaborative Lawyer and Mediator at Family Law Partners. She is ranked in Legal 500 and has practiced for over 20 years specialising in divorce, finances and children. In 2022, Farhana founded the Family Law Menopause Project, with the aim of raising awareness amongst the family law community of the significant impact of menopause on many women so that family lawyers can ensure that their client care and advice is attuned and reflective of this important issue which affects so many women and families. According to the research conducted by the Family Law Menopause Project and Newson Health Research and Education in 2022, 7 in 10 women (73%) who took part in the survey blamed the menopause for the breakdown of their marriage with a further 67% of the 1,000 women taking part worryingly claiming it increased domestic abuse and arguments. Unsurprisingly, 80% said that perimenopause had placed strain on their children and family life. In this episode we cover: the fact that - given divorce is a stressful life change - this stress may ‘mask' the symptoms of perimenopause, and at present, most family lawyers simply don't think to check with clients whether they may be perimenopausal the long term financial implications for women if their earning capacity is or has been impacted by perimenopausal symptoms (especially if they have left work as a result), including the ‘pension gap' - and why this would need to be borne in mind for financial settlements why it is important for lawyers to bear in mind the impact symptoms might have on a client (eg extra time for completing complex forms, difficulty remembering certain facts or chronology, difficulty dealing with confrontational situations) You can read more about the research we talk about in the interview at https://www.nhmenopausesociety.org/menopause-puts-final-nail-in-marriage-coffin/ You can also find Farhana's practice at www.familylawpartners.co.uk and the Family Law Menopause Project is on Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/lawmenopause You can find the podcast on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/middlingalong_podcast/ and you can listen to past episodes/subscribe to the newsletter at https://middlingalong.com It would mean so much if you'd subscribe, rate, and review us to share the love and help others find the podcast too! Today we're continuing an incredible story of resilience with Farhana Hossain. After the loss of her daughter, Eesha at 18 months old, we talk about Farhana's healing journey and how she was able to find joy again. Farhana Hossain is a mother and artist helping survivors of loss find their strength and voice through art. She launched her online store, Shakti Art Studios a year ago in memory of my first daughter. She offers custom illustrations under her Life After Loss series, where she works with grieving clients to show precious moments or teachings from their grief journey. Her Affirmation series features her daughter in empowering illustrations for children. She also published a children's journal book called "I Believe in Me", which is the first of a series featuring little warriors to raise awareness of their unique medical challenges.Farhana is currently developing a 6 - 8 week virtual workshop called "Bloom" geared towards those processing grief. The workshop aims to plant a little joy in the broken parts of our hearts through art. When we are grieving, we often fight the feeling of no longer being in control of our lives. Life feels unfair, and nothing seems to be going according to plan. Does that sound familiar to you? In this workshop, you will be developing a water colour painting like the one she created earlier this year (https://www.instagram.com/reel/CbxXrckgarh/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link) - a bouquet of flowers coming out of a heart. In working with a living, moving element like water and applying pigments to it, you will find that you're NOT in control of where these pigments end up. You will learn to resist the urge to push the pigments around to colour in the flower petal in the way you want. Instead you will observe with curiosity how the pigments in water move, settle and appreciate the beauty in it. The workshop will focus on acceptance, finding beauty & joy in what is here now which is a critical part of healing. Farhana is an accredited family law specialist and mediator working with Family Law Partners in London. During her 20-year career, Farhana often noticed an unspoken element at play when helping women through divorce, but it wasn't until she identified perimenopause within her peer group and those close to her that she appreciated the extent of the problem and was able to professionally decipher the impact of menopause on relationship breakdown. Farhana launched the Family Law Menopause Project to see whether any other colleagues in family law were factoring in this important element and to raise awareness of perimenopause and menopause when it comes to family cases dealing with divorce, splitting the assets, children issues or domestic abuse. Farhana's tips for family lawyers: Listen, enquire, and communicate. Look for cues and don't be afraid to ask questions If you think a client is experiencing peri/menopausal symptoms affecting their relationships and wellbeing, invite them to see their doctor Factor the menopause into your cases. Pick a family process that suits the client, for example arbitration or mediation, and be sympathetic.
