In this episode, the Nu-Soul Gardeners Kimani Anku & Darrylnne sat down with Soul-Jazz and Hip-Hop/funk Innovator Jeff Bradshaw. It was SOUL AMAZING!IG: @iamjeffbradshawhttp://iamjeffbradshaw.comBIOA North Philadelphia-born soul-jazz and hip-hop/funk innovator and trombone virtuoso, Jeff Bradshaw spent his formative years honing his chops alongside some of the biggest names both in and out of the Philly soul movement. By the time he got around to releasing his solo debut, 2004's critically acclaimed Bone Deep, he had shared the stage with such industry luminaries as Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Patti Labelle, Erykah Badu, and countless others. Bone Deep made him a festival circuit mainstay, and he spent the next eight years refining his signature smooth and immediate sound in both a solo setting and in support of artists like Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z, the Roots, and Jill Scott. In 2012 he issued his sophomore long-player, Bone Appetit, which featured a host of guest artists, including Kindred the Family Soul, Raheem DeVaughn, Floacist, and Marsha Ambrosius.

Royce is an alum of FAMU (Florida A & M University) where he studied Animal Science/Pre Vet Medicine and minored in Music."As a content creator, I feel it is my mission to uphold the reasons I've been blessed with so many gifts. I think about youth who are similar to me and how my art can save lives, create positive dialogue and change, evoke thought and understanding, bridge community gaps and leave a legacy that traverses the spectrum of human existence. I want the way I make people feel to connect them to others, even in their assumed differences." - Royce Hall"A multi-instrumentalist and author in addition to his singing prowess, Hall is winning us with the vocalicious new single, “Front Porch Love,” a track that smartly combines elements of doo wop and hip-hop into a cool mixture that sounds just right for Summer." - Chris Rizik, Soul Tracks--- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app--- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/iamlovereigns/messageSupport this podcast: https://anchor.fm/iamlovereigns/support

Born in Germany to Jamaican born and British raised parents, Natalie ‘The Floacist’ Stewart is a natural. The trained actress and slam champion poet, she made her stage debut at age three. As a graduate of Richard Branson’s BRIT Performing Arts and Technology College where she earned the title of ‘Student of The Year.' The Floacist later went on to invite her long time friend Marsha Ambrosius to perform at a poetry event that Natalie was headlining along side her renowned performance poetry group ‘3 Plus 1.' That night, Floetry was born. As the creative mastermind of Floetry, The Floacist acted as manager and PR agent. She then managed to take her blossoming artistic venture from South London to Philadelphia and ultimately, to the World. So, ??after five years of non-stop, sold out, touring and selling well over 1 million copies of three released albums and a live album DVD, Floetry moved on to solo ventures. ? The Floacist's third album 'RISE of the Phoenix Mermaid was released on March 18th 2014. RISE of the Phoenix Mermaid has been inspired, as always, by my personal walk and journey through the pages of the day to day parable that is my life! RISE is a compilation of a few songs that I wrote in 2006/7, at the point of the end of Floetry, that I didn't have the opportunity to share but have now reworked and finally am delighted to present to my audience, as well as a few completely new songs that I manifested in 2013, and I have also converted some of my favorite spoken word pieces into the Floetic ethos of song structure.

Natalie 'The Floacist' Stewart DEBUTS HER NEW ALBUM THE Rise of the Phoenix Mermaid The Floacist's third album 'RISE of the Phoenix Mermaid is due for release on March 18th 2014. The creation of this album has been about reflection, empowerment, self love, acceptance, submission, the Divine Feminine and the completion concept of endings leading to new beginnings. For all of the people who have been along for the journey of Floetry and eventually my solo artist walk, the message is about perseverance and alignment. The message is about being prepared for one's own opportunities. The message is about the ability to rise from the abyss of isolation, journeying upwards always, out of the ashes from the purification of the fires of change. The Manifestation

There's a new party in town! Chihuahua and Corona just last week launched LIMON, a celebration of life, music, and the zest that makes it all worthwhile. DJ Aimax Macoy kicked off the festivities with a fun 80s set that went on till 5am, while hostesses Kat Lagman and Edel Sarmiento made everyone feel right at home :) This week, we've got a strong, soulful DJ line-up: Mike Constantino (Conscious & The Goodness) brings nu-jazz and rare r&b to the table, and Jay Lobo (deepersoul) delivers a mix of deep house with beautiful instrumentals and groovy harmonies. The evening is hosted by the always vivacious Angela McDonald. This is the first Jay Lobo mix we feature on the radio program. Although Jay's been performing in Manila for quite some time, we never physically crossed path (we've interacted with him and heard his music online) and for one reason or another we never connected... until earlier this year at M Cafe, when we were blown away by his exquisite opening set. Here's a taste of what you'll hear on Friday night! 1. Teddy Douglas Ft Marcel & Natalie the Floacist - Good Morning Love (Early Morning Mix) 2. Quincy Jones - Tell Me A Bedtime Story (Opolopo Cut & Paste Mix) 3. The Funklovers - Cloud of Memories 4. Souldynamic Ft Angela Johnson - Love (Terry Hunter Bang Main Mix) 5. the fruits of his labor, JSoul has teamed up with some of soul music’s most illustrious artists such as: Eric Roberson, The Floacist, Julie Dexter and the incomparable Carol Riddick; who happens to be featured on the official single, “Tell Me.” No stranger to Hip-Hop, JSoul has collaborated with the DMV’s own, Mr. International himself, Substantial. He is crossing all boundaries and bridging them together with Black Sinatra. Baltimore’s own, JSoul, has been influenced by legends. He’s studied their formulas, paid his dues, and has mastered his very own unique style that is reminiscent of old school flavor, with a new school sound. Singer, songwriter and producer are three titles JSoul embodies. He has written and produced all the music on Black Sinatra. JSoul expresses his interpretations of love by using his velvet vocals, gliding them over soulful tracks. This is simply one of the many reasons why it makes him the Soul Brotha #1 to watch out for!
