Augusto Pinochet. On this episode of “The Eagle,” we'll learn more about Fruchter's story, and his quest to reconnect with his long-lost family. Learn more about your ad choices. Shira Fruchter is back for another episode. I thought this was such a fun topic to explore. If you have been listening to this podcast for a while, you know how much I value getting therapy and the right treatment for each individual person. Shira uses the IFS (Internal Family System) model in her counseling. As she has said before on this podcast, she is a purist. This is the modality she likes and she sticks to it. Shira and I have all these great conversations outside of recording a podcast and this one stood out to us. So we decided to try to pull it apart here on the podcast. If you do go to therapy, and ironically, if you go for symptoms of anxiety, you may experience anxiety about your therapy session - according to Shira, this is totally normal. I hope this episode helps normalize this experience for you and also helps you feel more at ease going into a therapy session. Check out the first episode I did with Shira here: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gila-glassberg/episodes/Internal-Family-Systems-IFS-with-Shira-Fruchter--How-Does-Overeating-Protect-Us-e1geeqo __________________________ Here is a bit about Shira: Shira Fruchter, MSW, currently maintains a private practice in Jerusalem for adult women and couples. She is an IFS level 3, certified clinician and supervisor. In addition, she teaches IFS introductory workshops both in person and on zoom. Jill has been listening to customers and clients for over 20 years. She has worked for organizations like Etsy and Blue Apron, and has since started Field Notes Consulting, a research and strategic planning practice serving both public and private sectors. She is method-agnostic, harnesses full-stack research, and interrogates all data to get to the real data or the root cause. While hard data and numbers are important, data alone does not equal insight. Making sense of the data often requires listening to customers, human-scale frameworks of things like journeys and experience mapping, and, of course, minimizing researchers' biases. It's often the outside-in perspective that brings it all together to give us insight that will highlight consequences and implications. Jill is a champion of what she calls “interventions” and doing interventions across silos. She shares an example from her time at Blue Apron that beautifully illustrates how one research silo can lose direction without insight from other silos. Some interventions Jill recommends include: • Remember that everyone in the organization is on the same team and after the same goal • Encourage observation • Bring cross-functional teams together • Fit KPIs and OKRs in the story of the user Jill will be leading a session, “Inconvenient Insights: The Researcher's Role is to Stay Curious,” and a workshop, “Holistic Insights: Collapsing Functional Silos for Maximum Impact” at the Advancing Research Conference March 27-29, 2023. What you'll learn from this episode: • How Jill defines insight and why it won't be uncovered from hard data alone • How “interventions” across silos can help everyone in the organization win • A taste of what Jill will cover in her talk and workshop at Advancing Research 2023 Quick Reference Guide [00:00] Introduction of Jill [01:50] Jill's role at Advancing Research Conference March 27-29th, 2023 [02:27] Jill's love-hate relationship with data [07:25] How we get insights from data [09:36] Lessons from Blue Apron [14:13] How to perform or support interventions [21:54] On interventions outside your area of expertise and considering the interconnectivity of the entire organization [30:43] Looking back on information and library science school [34:52] Jill's book recommendation [36:49] Jill's session and workshop at the upcoming Advancing Research Conference in March

Shira Fruchter and I decided to do something cool :) Shira(from a few episodes ago) - Here is the episode on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN77i-9e92A or spotify https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/9713qulfsxb Shira is actually doing real IFS on me to show how you can have real polarized parts of yourself. The cost of this episode is 25$. Email me at gilaglassberg18@gmail.com if you'd like to purchase it. I shared 2 different peoples experience when watching the episode and many people have already watched/listened and it has really helped them too. This is probably the hardest part of Intuitive Eating - accepting that our bodies don't always look how we want them too. Dieting sells us a lie we can change that and Intuitive Eating kind of forces you to sit in the discomfort which can actually be extremely transformative. I am also including a teaser for my husbands song and we will be recording an episode soon to discuss it so stay tuned!!! If you'd like to sign up for 1-1 counseling, you can fill out my application here https://gilaglassberg.com/video-application/ I will begin running another group soon! We speak with Norm Fruchter, long-time educational activist and thought leader, about Independence School, an experimental high school where the ideal was that someone walking into a classroom couldn't tell the teacher from the students. We discuss lessons learned – and perhaps forgotten – about supporting students whose original schools failed them. Among the school's strengths were authentic, enduring relationships among teachers and students, teaching strategies that enabled illiterate students to learn to read without embarrassment, month-long internship breaks, and curriculum that referenced students' life experiences.

As the construction industry prioritizes productivity and process growth and innovation, it's critical to engage the next great minds of the industry – students – to share their thoughts on what the future looks like. The Project Based Learning (PBL) Lab at the Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE) at Stanford University is doing just that by giving students the opportunity to experience, practice and innovate construction methodologies, practices and processes through real-world experiences. This program, started by Dr. Renate Fruchter, enables student teams with mentors from the construction space to push the envelope via a project-based learning course that allows them to use their skill set in a practical manner, arming them for their future. In this episode, Collaboration & New Ways of Working in the Construction Industry from Stanford University's PBL Lab, Justin Schwaiger, Director of Customer Success at Manufacton, and Dr. Fruchter, founding director of the PBL Lab, lecturer in the Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Sr. Research Engineer thrust leader of “Collaboration Technologies” at CIFE at Stanford, discuss this program, its benefits, and what the industry at large can learn from it. To learn more about the course, please visit PBL Lab's website. To explore some of the projects discussed in the episode, please visit PBL Lab's Project Page. This episode was absolutely fascinating. I took Shira's course on IFS and I knew I had to have her come on the podcast to explain what IFS is and how it works. I was introduced to this work a few years ago and I have personally gained from it very much. Shira Fruchter, MSW, lives in Ramat Eshkol Jerusalem and is a therapist specializing in IFS-Internal Family Systems therapy. She is a purist, meaning this is the only type of therapy she practices. She has a private practice for adults and couples and is an international trainer and certified IFS therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience. She is passionate about helping others through the IFS therapy model if they are willing to be helped! If someone is forced or encouraged to go to therapy but they don't want to be helped, you can't help them. Shira knows this from personal experience. Her parents got divorced when she was around 8 or 9 years old. Although her parents did want her to go to therapy, she was a resistant adolescent and refused to go. Therefore, she only works with clients aged 18 and up and she only takes in people who want to do the work. Growing up Shira always knew she wanted to be a therapist. She is a people person and she really wanted to help others. A decade into her practice she wanted more of a specific map of how to practice. She was interested in focusing on and practicing with one specific model. She was introduced to IFS and fell in love with it. It changed her life on a personal level, so she thought why can't other people benefit from it as well? Buy our mugs here: https://2njb.com/merch/ *** A month ago 300 Israelis striped naked and posed in the middle of the desert. This demonstration was part of an art installation photographed by world renowned photographer Spencer Tunick. And this wasn't the first time. Back in 2011, there were 1,200 subjects, all naked, photographed by Tunick. But all this wasn't done to simply photograph a bunch of nudists in the desert. There was a bigger motivation. Ari Leon Fruchter, the man who staged this whole thing, hopes these images will raise awareness and ignite a wave of activism that may help slow or even stop the disappearance of the Dead Sea. We are thrilled today to be joined by Ari Leon Fruchter to talk nudism, environmentalism and activism. So many isms. https://www.thedeadseamuseum.com

“I think we were interested in finding a true story. We were interested in telling the truth, not to make a propaganda film and not to make a film that would make people feel heroic.
