New episode! We continue covering the Likwit family this week. I'm joined by Raven Hunter & Ben Neumann to talk about a group that first showed up on King Tee's "Tha Triflin Album" and ended up blazing, or drinking, their own trail. Mixing fun, but lyrical, flows behind head nodding beats, the trio of Tash, J-Ro & E-Swift gave us 5 straight high quality records, and we talk about all of them. Did your favorite Liks song make the cut? As always the audio version is available on all major podcast platforms and the video version on Youtube.Follow the podcast on Instagram & X: @b_boypodcastFind us online: www.riplak.comFollow Raven Hunter on Instagram & X: @ravenhunteryps

Send us a textThis episode of *Veto's Corner* kicks off with a deep dive into the blockbuster trade rumors surrounding Luka Dončić and Anthony Davis. Would a deal between the Mavericks and Lakers shake up the league, or is it just another NBA fantasy? From there, we switch gears to LiAngelo Ball, making the case that he's not only an underrated hooper but also a better rapper than Cam'ron. That leads us into a heated discussion about Cam'ron's lyrical ability, whether Dipset was more of a gimmick than a movement, and where Juelz Santana truly stood in the rap game during his prime. We then celebrate Angel Reese's incredible gesture of paying off her mother's mortgage, proving she's winning both on and off the court. Finally, we touch on a more serious topic—Dwyane Wade's recent health battle, his decision to remove 40% of his kidney, and what this means for him moving forward. Growing up in inner city Houston sheltered from the very “ghetto” culture that surrounded me, I was bussed to gifted & talented schools and encouraged to alter the way I talked, dressed, and behaved – only to “fit in” with majority culture. This is not living in truth. This miseducation was part of my adolescent experience minimizing the “ghetto fabulous” black woman image that is very mainstream now in rap culture. An image that was once suppressed and now is celebrated. This solo cast call us to challenge our snap judgements of raunchy rap lyrics especially of the likes of artist, Sexyy Red, and instead, reflect on the truth that these goddesses represent in the rawest, grittiest form because the spiritual journey can never sound, look or be wrong when aligned in truth. It's a vibrant borough with a bad reputation: some 1.5 million people, many of them immigrants, live in New York city's Bronx. For decades, poverty and crime made headlines here, but it's also the birthplace of Hip Hop culture and home to the famous Yankees baseball team. The locals say that things have improved a lot since the notorious fires of the 1970s, yet there are still many issues.

This week we're bending the rules of our New York style season slightly, by interviewing fellow Brit, Jason Jules. Regardless, his new book Black Ivy: A Revolt in Style is extremely pertinent to this season's theme, given its concern with mid-century American style. Aleks and Jason explore Black Ivy in this episode, of course, but we also hear about Jason's fascination for cultural trend-spotting, his passion for jazz music and his admiration for progressive rap culture. It's a fascinating conversation, this. We hope you enjoy it.---HandCut Radio is produced by Birch, the London based creative office of James Allen. In this podcast we discussed how rappers all seem to have an image they have to upkeep as apart of rap culture which includes big obnoxious jewelry and big butts. Specifically with jewelry, we talked about how iced out jewelry is the worst thing you can buy and a waste of money that devalues jewelry especially watches. We then discussed Virgil Abloh's funeral and how we feel about footage coming out that people recorded of the private ceremony. At the funeral fans and paparazzi bombarded a grieving Kanye asking for autographs so we also discuss how we felt about that and how people will clout chase and not care about the emotions of celebrities or private circumstances. The situation of Kanye doing autographs further brought us to a discussion about what we would do if we met a celebrity we really admire/love and in what order would we ask for a conversation, pictures and/or autographs. We then talked about if you should enjoy life in the moment or take pictures for memories and how to find common ground. We talked about how our middle school and high school lives were right before we had Instagram and Snapchat stories and how it was to actually enjoy moments without feeling the need to post on a story about our day. Next we discussed Jussie Smollett being found guilty for faking a hate crime, how we knew he was lying from jump, the negative response we got for calling him out on lying from the beginning, and how Jussie Smollett has set the black community back with this and ruined his career. From there we talked about how African Americans culture is the most imitated but least respected. We wrapped up the podcast discussing Kanye and if we feel 2021 is one of his most iconic years with his comeback including the unique Donda rollout, the Donda release, Yeezy x GAP collab, the release of his Stem Player, his amazing Drink Champs interview, his reconciliation and concert with Drake and then his surprise Rolling Loud performance during Future's set. Despite his marriage troubles with Kim Kardashian, his 2021 was full of success and a huge reputation boost. With Kanye we talked about how people changed up on him and "cancelled" him in 2018 and how we feel about those and people now supporting him because they follow whatever is popular. We ended the pod talking about NBA Youngboy wearing makeup, how we feel about it, and the questionable outrage. We also brought up our prior podcast episodes where we discussed man-made gender constructs and how we all should question why we think the way we think._________________________________________________________OUR SOCIAL MEDIA:MAL'S personal YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/c/TheLifeofMalMAL'S IG & Twitter: @malwavesbackup twitter: @malwaves2ALEX'S personal YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqFmKxPqWpUbxor_sYQRQgQ ALEX'S IG: @theonlyalexgALEX'S Twitter: @itstheonlyalexgInstrumental/beats by him!
