Send us a textWe've all heard reports and read press releases of EV battery breakthroughs in the past and then gone on to quickly forget about them because we never hear anything about them again. The "breakthrough" might have been real in a lab, but was never produced or brought to market... never applied to real-world uses. I'm so excited to share this conversation with Ronnie Tao, VP of Business Development for Amprius Technologies, Inc. with all of you because Amprius has advanced battery technology to mind-blowing levels... and not just in a lab, but actually commercially available! I KNOW you're going to love this one, because I did. The future is bright my friends, and clearly, Amprius is leading the way.—————————————Get started with EV charging today:Oasis Charging: https://www.oasischarging.com—————————————Patreon Supporters:Director Tier - Rajeev Narayan, Andy CooperProducer Tier - Eric Weber, Tony StuntzIf you would like to support the EV Resource Podcast, Magazine, Newsletter, and YouTube Channel, head over to Patreon and consider a monthly contribution. patreon.com/evresource —————————————Instead of mandatory membership fees or paywalls, I use advertising and affiliate connections to keep The EV Resource Podcast free. The problem with the way we've been doing EV outreach at and with events is wrong! It's expected, unoriginal, and easily forgettable. And at the end of the day, how much impact will talking to 30 people (who don't really care what you have to say and only approached out of curiosity), really make? Not that much. And, if you or your organization put down money for the privilege, then honestly, it was a mistake. But worse, you spent your time and resources to set up and be present, but not really effective. Let's be real, the mission that we all share, is to move progress forward and get more people driving more EVs. So our efforts have to be impactful. And that means that for or at events, what we do and how we do it has to engage with the attendees who are there… so how do we do this?Well, that's what this episode is all about! I'm giving real ideas, some proven, some well... off the top of my head that I have no idea if they'll work or not. But definitely something to think about.—————————————Mentioned in the show:The 2024 Electric Vehicle Festival: www.electricvehiclefest.comThe 2024 Clean Fuels Summit: www.electricvehiclefest.com/summitZEV Tour: www.zevtour.com—————————————Patreon Supporters: Director Tier - Rajeev Narayan, Andy CooperExecutive Producer Tier - Christopher Lawrence, Dave LaansmaProducer Tier - Eric Weber, Tony StuntzIf you would like to support the EV Resource Podcast, Magazine, Newsletter, and YouTube Channel, head over to Patreon and consider a monthly contribution. https://www.patreon.com/EVResource—————————————Life on Record: https://www.lifeonrecord.com—————————————Instead of mandatory membership fees or paywalls, I use advertising and affiliate connections to keep The EV Resource Podcast and The EV Resource Magazine free for all of you. The Washington DC Electric Vehicle Grand Prix is a hands-on educational program for high schools in Washington DC, Maryland, Ohio and Virginia. The competition was held on Saturday June 1, 2024 at RFK stadium. For this competition student teams apply engineering, science, and math principles and strategy to construct and race battery powered electric cars. The project also helps improve their understanding of renewable energy technologies and project management while working in a team environment. Other aspects of the program involve marketing, PR and fundraising as well as logistics planning in preparation for the races.Participation in the DCEVGP serves as an excellent opportunity for young men and women in high schools to better prepare them for their college careers in science and engineering. The electric vehicles are single person, lightweight, aerodynamic, high efficiency, electric-motor- driven vehicles with three wheels. They must meet specific design and safety rules. They are powered by deep cycle sealed lead acid (SLA) battery packs not exceeding 33 kg (73 pounds). The race is held on a purpose-built closed track with a minimum length of 0.25 miles. Speeds are software limited through the controller to insure utmost safety. Teams drive their electrically powered vehicles as far as possible for one hour on the closed loop course using only energy stored in their batteries. The winner of the DCEVGP is the team that covers the longest distance in the allotted hour. This year's results:First place: 445 - Harrisonburg High School Blue Streaks (66 laps)Second place: 130 - Stuarts Draft High School Short Circuits (65 laps)Third place: 554 - Harrisonburg High School Rocktown Raptors (63 laps)Best New Team Performance: 924 - DuVal High School Tigers EV RacingTeam Safety Award: 333 - Jackson-Reed High School JR RacingFastest Qualifying Lap: 445 - Harrisonburg High School Blue Streaks (43.1 sec)Best Event/Team Promotion: 782 - Wheaton HS Society of Women Engineers - 2Best Use of 3D Printing: 657 - Sidwell Friends School SECRETTeam Sportsmanship Award: 001 - Friendship Collegiate Academy KnightsWomen in Science & Eng (WISE) Award: Jamie Lewis/Emily Cleveland (Wheaton HS)Best Vehicle Graphics Design: 459 - Eastern Technical High School Electric MavericksTechnical Innovation Award: 445 - Harrisonburg High School Blue StreaksBest Vehicle Workmanship: 111 - Perry Hall High School GatorsBest Team Photo: 924 - DuVal High School Tigers EV RacingBest Team Video: 130 - Stuarts Draft High School Short CircuitsHonorable Mention (spirit of the event): Oxon Hill High SchoolWebsite: https://globaleee.org/DCEVGP.htmlFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/DCEVGP—————————————Patreon Supporters:Director Tier - Rajeev Narayan, Andy CooperExecutive Producer Tier - Christopher LawrenceProducer Tier - Eric Weber, Tony StuntzIf you would like to support the EV Resource Podcast, Magazine, Newsletter, and YouTube Channel, head over to Patreon and consider a monthly contribution. https://www.patreon.com/EVResource—————————————Instead of mandatory membership fees or paywalls, I use advertising and affiliate connections to keep The EV Resource Podcast and The EV Resource Magazine free for all of you. I now believe that it's a miracle that the EV transition has come as far as it has...I'm not so sure that we have enough resources to cut ties with China and bring the EV supply chain entirely to North America, and moreover, I'm confident that we won't be independent of China for many decades to come. As we stand at the threshold of a new era in personal transportation, I see a clear need to adjust our conversation about EVs. The journey so far has illuminated the path for enthusiasts and pioneers, but the road ahead requires us to engage a broader audience — the early majority. These pragmatic adopters are not primarily motivated by the allure of new technology or environmental activism; they seek reliable, practical solutions that mesh with their everyday lives. The insights and strategies I've outlined in this episode advocate for a shift from a narrative steeped in technological jargon and environmental idealism to one that speaks directly to the practical, immediate benefits of EV ownership. By emphasizing aspects like cost savings, convenience, ease of use, and the sheer readiness of EVs to meet daily needs, we can bridge the chasm and guide the early majority across. This isn't merely about selling cars; it's about fostering a movement towards sustainable transportation that is inclusive, accessible, and appealing to the widest possible audience. As we refine our messages, focus on relatability, and underscore the tangible benefits of electric vehicles, we pave the way for a future where EVs are not just a choice for the few but the preferred option for the many.As we continue to navigate this transition, let's all commit to a dialogue that resonates, educates, and inspires. Sometimes, it only takes a small spark to light the world on fire. Steven's journey started when he was 8yrs old and his burning passion was lit by the example and influence of his school librarian, Nancy Dankle. For decades, Steven has been an outspoken member of his community encouraging and influencing the town of Bucksport, Maine to support and adopt electric vehicles and solar energy. It has been said that those who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones that do... and Steven is living proof. Through his efforts, Bucksport, and the world are certainly changed for the better.I hope you enjoy this conversation!Mentioned in the show: Plant a tree in memory of Nancy Dankle:https://tree.tributestore.com/memorial-tree?oId=27566005Electric/Solar for Bucksport ME Facebook Group:https://www.facebook.com/groups/3424337907653525/ —————————————Podcast Partner: Titan Auto and Tire - Titan is one of the very few independent shops in Central Virginia that are qualified to work on EVs and Hybrids. https://www.titanautotire.comPatreon Supporters:Director Tier - Rajeev Narayan, Andy CooperExecutive Producer Tier - Christopher LawrenceProducer Tier - Charles Hall, Eric Weber, Tony StuntzIf you would like to support the EV Resource Podcast and YouTube Channel, head over to Patreon and consider a monthly contribution. / evresource —————————————Life on Record:https://www.lifeonrecord.com—————————————Instead of mandatorymembership fees or paywalls, I use advertising and affiliate connections to keep The EV Resource Podcast and The EV Resource MagazinSupport the showConnect with EV Resource on Social Media!Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/evresource1Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ev_resourceTwitter: https://www.twitter.com/EV_ResourceWebpage: https://www.ev-resource.comEmail: hello@ev-resource.com

I'm so excited to bring you all a conversation I had with Matt Teske, Founder and CEO of Chargeway! It only takes one conversation about EV charging for anyone to realize how complex this fuel type is for our vehicles. The current way we communicate about charging is complex and involves many new terms and variables that are not only confusing for the new EV owner, but also for many seasoned veterans as well! Enter Chargeway: a company that has created a system that simplifies the conversation around EV charging. They eliminate the complexity to a point where, even someone who is brand new to EV ownership can understand the capabilities of their vehicle and which charging stations are most appropriate to use. This is one that I know you're going to love!-------------Podcast Partner: Titan Auto and Tire - Titan is one of the very few independent shops in Central Virginia that are qualified to work on EVs and Hybrids.https://www.titanautotire.comPatreon Supporters:Director Tier - Rajeev Narayan, Andy Cooper, Ethan B.Executive Producer Tier - Christopher LawrenceProducer Tier - Charles Hall, Eric Weber, Alan MichelIf you would like to support the EV Resource Podcast, Magazine, Newsletter, and YouTube Channel, head over to Patreon and consider a monthly contribution. https://www.patreon.com/EVResourceDo you like to read your news as well as listen to it?Check out the EV Resource Weekly Newsletter:https://evresource.beehiiv.com/Instead of mandatory membership fees or paywalls, I use advertising and affiliate connections to keep The EV Resource Podcast and The EV Resource Magazine free for all of you.
