Welcome to the Lovecars On The Grid podcast, with our hosts, Tiff Needell and Paul Woodman, who bring us a roundup of motorsport events from around the World. This week, we have news on Formula 1 and Christian Horner, In Formula 1, the rumours surrounding Christian Horner at Red Bull continue, will he leave Red Bull? Who could replace him? We have Gunther Steiner who left Haas under shares within the company, Helmut Marko says he still could give something to the Formula 1 Constructors Championship, who do you think could replace Horner? In NASCAR, we had the most exciting race in Atlanta. With lots of crashes, with just 6 cars not being involved in an accident, with cars up to 4 wide in some of the turns. Reigning Champion Ryan Blaney took second place as Daniel Suárez came through in his Chevrolet to take his second win in 254 starts in NASCAR. The series is off to Las Vegas next! The Bathurst saw Aussie Supercars, where reigning Champion, Brodie Kostecki wasn't racing, as he'd fallen out with is team for unknown reasons in the supercars opening race of the season. World Superbikes also kicked off at Philip Island. Normally, we're used to seeing Alvaro Bautista win in the Superbikes, however his team mate, Andrea Locatelli took his first win in the World Superbikes series. Should we get Tiff Needell to do a series race this year? What race series should Tiff enter? We've seen this season's Formula 1 drivers testing. Will Red Bull continue to dominate the season? Ferrari's drivers of LeClerc and Sainz were fastest, but which team will lead the season this year? Elsewhere in Formula 1 news, there's rumours that Audi are pulling out! Since we've had the news of a new team joining the sport, it looks like there's been a few staff changing, resulting in the team looking for pull out. We have lots of motorsport to look forward to, as Formula 2, Formula 3 and World Endurance Championship all return to racing in the coming weeks. What are you most looking forward to?

This comprehensive video presentation delves into the very essence of F2's struggles, peeling back the layers to unveil a complex narrative that has far-reaching implications for the motorsport world. At the heart of the matter lies the persistent issue of the antiquated F2 car, an artifact frozen in time since 2018. It's a harsh reality as this powerplant, from the same creators who stumbled with Williams in 2018, contributes to the series' woes.Yet, there's more to this tale of uncertainty. F2 finds itself in the midst of a media exodus, as alternative motorsport disciplines rise to prominence. The likes of IndyCar, known for its resurgence, World Endurance Championship with its exciting developments, and Super Formula capturing imaginations, have all diverted attention away from F2.As we dissect these intricate dynamics, you'll gain a deeper understanding of why F2 is no longer the exclusive gateway to F1 stardom. First, we discuss how Florida's Governor DeSantis has signed a bill blocking direct-to-consumer car sales. The bill, written by lobbyists for the Florida Automobile Dealers Association, restricts automakers' control over dealer inventory and prices. However, exceptions were negotiated for Tesla and other electric startups. Dealers argue that they play a crucial role in providing customer service and warranty work. Next, we shift our focus to Oregon, where the state has passed a bill allowing Oregonians to pump their own gas. While full-service fueling won't be eliminated, gas stations can designate up to half of their pumps as self-serve. Populous counties will still require at least one attendant, and gas prices will be the same for self-serve and full-service pumps. Moving on, we share an amusing story about Porsche CEO Oliver Blume camping in a rooftop tent on a 911 Turbo S during the Le Mans race. The tent, designed for various Porsche models, comes with comfortable amenities and bears the iconic Porsche branding. In another segment, we discuss the sighting of a road version of the Ford Mustang GT3, featuring a wide body and center-exit exhaust. Spy shots reveal design cues and tire sidewalls resembling Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires. The car's front-end remains heavily camouflaged, hinting at aggressive aerodynamics. Lastly, we touch upon BMW M's transition away from manual and twin-clutch gearboxes. The twin-clutch gearbox won't make a comeback, and the recently launched M2 is expected to be the last manual M car. BMW M is favoring automatic transmissions for factors such as cost and comfort. We conclude with a look at Circuit Safaris, an exciting fan experience in Japan's World Endurance Championship and Atlanta Motorsports Park. Fans can enter a lottery for a chance to buy tickets and witness race cars up close. While the event presents risks, it has been deemed a success by the WEC and FIA.

I get guest suggestions sent to me regularly, and this show is the result of one of those. Dave Kallmann messaged me on Twitter to suggest a few motorsports photographers, and that instantly intrigued me. Dave is a sports reporter for Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and he is one hell of a photographer himself. If he was suggesting someone then I knew I had to take a look, and man, I am so glad that I did. Jamey Price is a motorsport and automotive photographer from Charlotte, North Carolina, and he is in a league of his own. If you've watched or listened to show for any amount of time, you'll know that I spend a lot of time looking through my guest's work to try and find common threads, those things that seem to connect all of the shots together. Many photographers have these fine threads that seem to weave from image to image, a way that they tell their story that is unique to them. For Jamey it's motion. Let me explain... As a motorsports photographer, of course Jamey is photographing things in motion, and when I say motion I mean speed, but that's not the thread I am talking about. Jamey has an ability to coney to the viewer a feeling of actual motion. Through the use of panning, a creative depth of field, or a dragged shutter, Jamey makes you feel like you are along for the ride. I'm not sure if you can motion sickness from a photo, but if you can then you'd be advised to view Jamey's work carefully. I am left wondering if Jamey's early career choices played a role in the resulting images I see. Jamey was a thoroughbred steeplechase horse racing jockey and exercise rider in the United States, England and Ireland. He rode in more than 50 races, and notched 11 wins in the saddle, all the while taking photos between his races. He eventually self published a book titled "Chasing: Racing Life in England & Ireland." In 2011, Jamey's photography career path switched from horses, to horse power. Since then, his images have been published around the world in magazines, newspapers and websites including The New York Times, HotRod, Hagerty, MAXIM, Car&Driver, CycleWorld, Road&Track, Autoweek, RACER, MotorTrend, Autosport, F1 Racing magazine, Motorsport Magazine, Formula1.com, Lamborghini.com, TopGear.com, Blackbird Automotive Journal, Popular Mechanics, Sports Illustrated & ESPN and many others. Named Motorsport Photographer of the Year in 2019 by the National Motorsports Press Association, Jamey currently does freelance work supplying racing and marketing imagery to some of the most respected automotive brands, photographers, agencies and racing teams and drivers across the world including: Lamborghini & Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Ferrari, Ducati, Audi Canada, Acura, Red Bull, Ford, Bentley, Goodyear, PUMA, MOTUL, RM Sotheby's, Aston Martin Racing, Manor Racing F1 team, Force India Formula 1 team, Renault Formula 1 team, Alpine Formula 1 Team, Williams Formula 1 team, Toyota Gazoo Racing, the Macau Grand Prix and many more. Though primarily sticking to the motor racing and automotive world, Jamey has photographed a diverse range of sporting assignments from professional swimming, to the Kentucky Derby & Breeders' Cup Horse Racing World Championships, NFL games, US Women's National team soccer, and of course the fast-paced world of NASCAR, World Endurance Championship, Formula E, IMSA Weathertech Championship, NHRA, Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Indycar & the Indy 500, MotoGP, 24 hours of Le Mans, 24 hours of Nürburgring, more than 35 Formula 1 races, and a little bit of everything in between! Jamey has been the staff photographer for successful Charlotte based luxury print magazine, QC Exclusive and Discover the Carolinas since 2014 and is a sponsored LEXAR Elite Artist.
