Back in 2014, Night Demon recorded a cover version of the NWOBHM classic "Axe Crazy," by the band Jaguar. This week's episode takes a deep dive into that song. Jaguar guitarist and founding member Garry Pepperd chronicles the formation of the band and explains how "Axe Crazy" came about and why it was released as a single rather than on a proper album. The Night Demon band members describe how they came to be aware of Jaguar and "Axe Crazy," and talk about their reasons for recording it and how it became a staple in their live set for several years. You will also hear from Jarvis and Garry about the brief period when Jarvis became the lead vocalist for Jaguar, and the handful of shows he performed with them. The guys reflect on the enduring appeal of the song and the reasons why it will never truly be retired from the Night Demon set.Become a subscriber today at nightdemon.net/subscriber. The Suicide Notes ooze gutter-trash rock n' roll. Low-slung buzzsaw guitars and raw nicotine-soaked vocals, rock 'n' roll swagger, and whiskey on the rocks; the illegitimate sons of punk and sleaze, conceived on a bed of red wine, cigarettes, and back alley attitude. Born under the bad sign of guttercat rock n' roll in 2019, the band swiftly secured management and a sponsorship deal with Cloven Hoof Rum before launching two acoustic singles - which have had continuous radio play since their release in July 2019. These were soon followed up with a third well received single 'Momma Sang The Blues' and the release of their debut acoustic and electric 'Pleasures Of Despair' EPs. These gained rave reviews across the board and the band were No.1 on Only Rock Radio in Spain, and No. 16 across all stations on the Radio Indie Alliance Top 40. The gig calendar for 2020 was all-but wiped out by the Covid 19 pandemic, but not before the band had garnered stellar reviews for their debut gig at London's Hope & Anchor, and for performances at the Dublin Castle, Camden's Unicorn, and Dementia Aware Fest in Wolverhampton. Securing a new management deal with Forge A.M.P and adding the extra sonic assault of second guitarist Danny Gould, the Suicide Notes were widely acknowledged as one of the Day 1 highlights of the rescheduled HRH Sleaze 2021, along with a number of festival appearances, support slots with Last Great Dreamers, Healthy Junkies ans a bunch of headline shows. 2022 sees a return to Hard Rock Hell with a headline appearance at HRH AOR, a support slot with ‘Greatest Rock n' Roll Band In The World' Supersuckers, and festival appearances at RoadRage, CC7 XIII Shades of Black, Mayors Fest, and a third Punk n' Roll Rendezvous, plus a return to multiple Dementia Fest 2021 events. The Episode where everybody pee'd....A few weeks ago Gin Annie graced the shores of England's south coast to play their first socially distanced gig at Madding Crowd in Bournemouth.Hailing from Wolverhampton in the Midlands, the heavy rockers have been making waves with their late 80's Sunset Strip sound which has seen them support the likes of Deadline Ritual, Last In Line and Ugly Kid Joe. They're also familiar faces on the Uk festival circuit with Hard Rock Hell, Winters End and Ramblin' Man Fair slots firmly under their belts. After the boys had finished sound checking for their show, I stole them away for a chat about how 2020 was set to be their biggest year yet, who they're named after, how they feel about the lack of support for the music industry and also to try and get some dirt on album number two, which is currently in the making. As we were setting up to interview the band we were all aware the British government were preparing to announce that England would be going back into it's second national lockdown in an attempt to control Covid-19 cases across the country. As we finished the interview the news broke that lockdown 2.0 would start in a matter of days. Despite everyone's best efforts life would be back on hold temporarily and live music events at a standstill once again. That night Gin Annie put on a fantastic show and we rocked out as hard as you possibly can at a socially distanced gig!https://ginannie.com/

Rollin' Dice new Single With you RISING ROCK N ROLLERS RELEASE BRAND NEW ALBUM! Despatching infectious rock thrusts and engaging hooks with abundant groove and swagger, Greek rock n rollers ROLLIN' DICE have been tearing up a storm in their homeland, and now the Euro rockers are set to break out to the UK with the new album, Reroll, which is out now via Vinylstore. ROLLIN' DICE have also just released a new single and video, With You - https://youtu.be/bTK5PdSWf68 Although the early seeds of ROLLIN DICE were sown in Athens, Greece in 2011, by vocalist and guitarist Antonis Karathanasopoulos, it wasn't until 2017 that the band fully finalised and shaped their impressive sound. With a fixed line-up of John Robas (bass guitar, backing vocals), Aggelos Kalogiannis (drums) and Antonis Karathanasopoulos (vocals and guitar), ROLLIN' DICE have gained widespread recognition in Greece for their enthralling rock sound that pulls from Rush and Black Sabbath to Rival Sons and Kadavar. The trio's debut album, Way To The Sun, landed in November 2017, and Greek Metal Hammer swiftly offered the release a much deserved 8/10 review. The band diligently toured the album across Greece and opened for V.I.C. (Villagers of Ioannina City) and Nightstalker. ROLLIN' DICE played the Rockwave Festival, sharing stages with Iron Maiden, Volbeat and Tremonti. However, shortly after this career highlight, one of the band members suffered a serious health issue and all recording and touring were postponed. The emerging threesome returned to the fold this year with renewed determination and vigour. The band have now recorded and released their new album, Reroll, and the media are rapidly praising and hailing the release as the group's best work to date. The band comment about the album: “'Reroll' is about entering a new era after a turbulent period. It's a statement that, no matter what, the band is going to keep on playing and adapting to the difficulties that lay ahead by overcoming them together.” Expressing infectious groove, tantalising riffs and engrossing vocals, this album is poised to put ROLLIN' DICE on the map. https://www.facebook.com/WaytotheSun https://open.spotify.com/artist/3pKUMJLUFQ6pf58UFJo6Q3?si=QPBTERFdR9C-2sNSkvOJtQ https://www.instagram.com/rollin_dice_official/ https://www.youtube.com/c/RollinDiceTheBand My thoughts the track opens with a classic sounding riff from, a riff you would have heard back in the 70's however that's not a bad thing, it's well a well-produced clean track, I love the break down in the middle the way the band have slow donw things and then there is a euphoric guitar solo, overall, its an easy listen, I was not taken back by it, but more than happy to see what the albums sounds like. For fans of Black sabbath, Led zeplin Moving over to our next release Crosspaths new single Defiant 20 November 2020 EXCITING NEW CROSSOVER CREW DETAIL EP PLANS & ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE! Unstoppable alt-metal crew CROSTPATHS continue their ascension with the launch of their sophomore EP, Mutated, out Friday 27th November. Before then, the nu-metalcore rapscallions have just unleashed an explosive new single, Defiant check it out here Crostpaths Coming at you from Kent and born at the very end of 2018, CROSTPATHS made an early name for themselves with the release of last year's self-titled debut EP. Tracks from the record spawned radio airplay via Total Rock and Hard Rock Radio and grass roots support poured in from many quarters. Taking cues from Papa Roach, Fever 333, and Linkin Park, CROSTPATHS have managed to astutely etch fresh imprints on the nu-metalcore genre. Consisting of Ritchie Murray Jack (Lead Vox), Owain Lewis (Bass/Vox), Michael Edwards (Lead Guitars), and James Mason (Drums/Percussion), the emerging crew have recently signed to Enso Music Management and have collaborated with local artists including Dohny Jep, WeatherView and apatternimperfect to produce remixes of their self-titled EP. Recently, the band's focus has firmly shifted to their thunderous new EP, Mutated. The record is a burly slice of alternative metal infused with killer breakdowns, monstrous riffs, rampant energy, and a plethora of hooks. Lead Vocalist, Ritchie Murray Jack remarks: "We wrote this high-octane material in late 2019 with the intention of a spring release to coincide with touring. Best laid plans eh? Sonically, it's all action, but lyrically the songs reflect a rollercoaster of emotions that many will be familiar with (especially now): anger, sorrow and stubborn defiance." CROSTPATHS have a hatful of blistering singles and videos on the way and will tour the EP as soon as the world allows. Stay tuned to their social sites for constant updates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsqzJ6CH4CM&feature=youtu.be https://www.facebook.com/crostpaths https://twitter.com/crostpaths https:open.spotify.com/artist/1UyQ9Us7cR1QggBbIcxxso https://www.instagram.com/crostpaths/ my thoughts so we are quickly revisiting a band who have featured in a previous episode. back with their second track Defiant it opens with a riff that sounds remises of STATIC X Riff, Defiant is similar to Rampage that in the respect its high energy , what I really love with Definat is the melodic chorus it has a natural hook that will get stuck in your head overall I'm really enjoying what I'm hearing with Crosspaths would love to seem them live as I feel there shows are going to be of the energy and quality that of Fever 333 and linkin park so much energy and passion for fans of Linkin park,Fever 333,papa Roach. Thank you to SaN PR for sending these over. moving over to our next single this week I present Black Tree Vultures and their brand new single out now 'RUN BACK TO THE DARK out 20 November Brit hard rockers BLACK TREE VULTURES drop brand new video 'RUN BACK TO THE DARK'! This is the second single release following their September release 'The Unforeseen' from their new EP 'III' which is set for release, February 12th 2021. This track is emotionally hard hitting, not just lyrically but also due to the circumstances that inspired its inception. It takes a huge amount of bravery to discuss your mental health and openly show your underbelly. This is exactly what has been done through this single and its message will resonate with all of its listeners. The single boasts punchy riffs, crushing grooves, huge hooks and is the second installment of three singles from their upcoming EP 'III' - which will be released early next year. This track is emotionally hard hitting, not just lyrically but also due to the circumstances that inspired its inception. Having worked on their previous release with Grammy nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda, Black Tree Vultures wanted to expand on their sound and took the new EP to Spain to work along side producer Will Maya (The Answer) in Los Rosales Studios. Whilst 2020 has been a write off for some, BTV have been proactive behind the scenes signing with booking agents, Roulette Media and have already been confirmed for Teddy Rocks festival, HRH Ibiza, Love Rocks and Lindos Rocks in Greece. They have also signed with Iron Road talent management and performed on the Iron Road live @ your social bubble event which was streamed on July 18th and was extremely successful. BTV have gone from strength to strength, gaining momentum and fans worldwide! "*Ched played this melodic baseline at practice one day and stopped me in my tracks, “What's that!?” I said. “Oh just something I had knocking around”. Despite the rest of the band thinking it wasn't very “us” I persisted and this song developed. It was the end section that made the others realise we had a good thing here.* Easily the hardest song I have ever had to write lyrically. This is the first time that we have taken a slower route with our songs and this allowed me to get my feelings down on paper more freely. This song is about my bi-polar diagnosis. With me talking to both versions of myself that I hate so much. This song is written about me, however with the idea that anyone can refer to it who may be going through something similar and can relate. The fact that I hate I'm like this, but I am going to do everything in my power to push it away and beat this illness." – Celyn Formed in early 2017 by Jonno Smyth (Drums) and Aaron ‘Ham' Hammersley (Guitar), Black Tree Vultures set out to combine their classic metal influences with a modern edge, to play to an audience ranging from seasoned metal veterans to new rock lovers. After recruiting Celyn Beynon (Vocals) to front the band, writing and recording began on their debut EP “Sanity Isn't Perfect”. This was released on BTV records via plastic head media in February 2018. The band crafted a strong live set and immediately took to the road, playing towns such as Oxford, Birmingham, Southampton & Colchester. Receiving great receptions wherever they went the band landed their first main support slot for Snakecharmer a few weeks before their debut E.P was released. Continuing to play live around the UK, Black Tree Vultures have supported the likes of Diablo Blvd, Bigfoot, and Ryders Creed. The band soon found themselves in Europe to play live in Holland, Germany and Belgium. This included a Headline spot at the Dutch festival “Wolluk-Stock”. Thanks to the support of the BTV fans, the band were voted to play at a Hard Rock Hell battle of the bands in August 2018 turning heads and securing more gigs for the future. Here they met ‘Ched' Cheeseman who, after standing in on Bass, later went on to become a full time member completing the current line-up. 2020 saw them write and record their four-track EP 'lll' which will be released February 2021 alongside producer Will Maya (The Answer) in Los Rosales Studios in Spain. They also signed up with booking agents Roulette Media and have already been confirmed for Teddy Rocks festival, HRH Ibiza, Love Rocks and Lindos Rocks in Greece. I don't think it will be long and we will see BTV on some pretty impressive line ups. Ched brought the riff to Aaron and Jonno and the song (though very different from what you hear today) grew from that. Originally titled ‘Black Limousine' the lyrical content was very different, but after a tough experience I rewrote the lyrics to reflect this. On a cloudy day on a Hill in North Dorset, amidst a break-up, I turned to a good friend for advice. They allowed me to view myself from the standpoint of someone else. In the song, I refer to a text or two I received in the middle of the break-up describing who I was and what I'd become. It made me realise that things are going to have to change and was a bit of a wakeup call! I think it's important to write and draw from experience when it comes to music as it makes it genuine and people can connect with it." - Celyn Band members CELYN BEYNON - VOCALS AARON HAMMERSLEY - LEAD GUITAR JONNO SMYTH - DRUMS JAMES "CHED" CHEESMAN - BASS GUTAIR Band links Social Links: Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/BlackTreeVultures/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWU30ayVCZ-dATTE2fw3woA Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/blacktreevultures/?igshid=eonwpmnpqrji Thoughts A fantastic track, its starts with a bass line that will make you feel like you have been hit a train, it just chugs away perfectly. Redline is a rock band, make that metal band, that hails from Birmingham, England, the ancestral home of metal. Balls to the wall guitars, a locked and loaded rhythm section and a powerful vocalist, Redline has forged its own distinctive blend of classic hard rock and British heavy metal. With influences drawn from a rich heritage, the band has been compared to Judas Priest, Saxon, Dio, Iron Maiden and a host of others from the founding fathers of metal. Redline has played a number of British festivals including Hard Rock Hell, Planet Rockstock, Planet Rock’s Winter’s End, and Europe’s biggest free festival, The Godiva Festival in England. One of the tracks featured anthemic King Of The Mountain which has become the soundtrack to the Isle Of Man TT (http://bettereachday.me/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/72040553_2099478230360528_2644826554340737024_n.jpg) Motorcycle Races. Music from the album is also used exclusively on Full Throttle, a challenging motorcycle theme pinball game. Songs will now be featured on the new official video game of the IOM TT Races to be released in 2020 on PS4 and all formats by BigBen Interactive. The band has welcomed Chris Basener, an accomplished and exciting new guitarist. Chris has released a number of solo albums as well as authoring books on guitar technique and brings fresh impetus to the song writing process. Redline has found a great chemistry that sees them writing material that has a darker and heavier feel than before… and from this cauldron Gods And Monsters was born. Redline recorded the album at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, England. This is a legendary studio that not only Rush, Black Sabbath and Robert Plant have recorded hit albums, but where Queen recorded one of the biggest tracks of all time, Bohemian Rhapsody. Having worked at Rockfield and engineered, mixed and produced such diverse talents including The Darkness, Thunder, Tyketto, Brian May, Bruce Springsteen, and The Stone Roses. Nick has a great understanding of capturing that live band feel that the band was seeking. The finished mixes were passed onto Pete Maher, mastering engineer for The Rolling Stones, U2, Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails, Thunder, and Paul Weller. Redline had no doubt that Pete’s mastering would unleash the full power of the tracks. Redline's Rockfield pilgrimage set out to capture the band’s signature classic rock sound, a raw energy that forms the basis of their music. Riff laden rock, power-pipe vocals and hook laden songs telling tales of the good…and the bad, of the darkness that lies within, and of hope that lights the way. Kez Taylor, vocals Chris Basener, guitar Ade Yeomans, guitar Steve “Reg” Hill, bass Mark Biddiscombe, drums Redline's Homepage (https://www.redlinerock.com/)

Of course, he spins some awesome music from that bands the played too. It's always sad at the end. But it is upon me. My time at my first Hard Rock Hell event, HRH Sleaze, is winding down. Overall it was a fantastic experience. The venues, the bands, the people. While, I did not see every performer, not one that I did see was off their mark. Even one of my most hated bands in the world delivered a set that held me in trance. A part of the Hard Rock Hell family, HRH Sleaze III, is as you guessed, the third installment of the annual festival. It takes place in Sheffield, UK and the lineup for 2020 is already announced with still more to come! The Hard Rock Hell organization presents many festivals throughout the year, this HRH Sleaze III being my first, but not my last. Next up is HRH Punk followed by the original HRH.I'll do my best to recap some of those experiences and band performances here as I tell Wallygator all about it. Take a listen to CGCM Podcast Episode #75-HRH Sleaze III featuring songs from many of the artists and interviews with two of the best bands all weekend!
