We return to the swamps surrounding the Crowley house with HATCHET III. This time with a new director! In our final segment we make a bracket of unstoppable killers and select MOST HARD TO KILL.
A recovery team heads to the Honey Island Swamp to search for any survivors as Marybeth discovers the secret to putting an end to the curse of Victor Crowley. Spooky Season is upon us and it only makes sense to kick off October with Victor Crowley. Hatchet III is another fun sequel from this slasher series that always turns up the kills and the fun. In this film, a search and rescue team attempt to look for the whereabouts of any survivors after the events of the previous movie. While the focus is a bit different, the theme of large groups of people heading to the Honey Island Swamp and getting horribly murdered by Victor Crowley remains the same. This series does an amazing job of keeping the content fresh and providing laughs along the way. This week- two films that franchise unlikely originals, an inevitable sequel, and a frustrated Scotsman only out for revenge at this point. After surviving her second night in Honey Island Swamp, Marybeth Dunston walks into a police station with the scalp of Victor Crowley. Now Sheriff Fowler leads a team out to see the carnage but it's only a matter of time until Victor returns. The only entry not directed by franchise creator, Adam Green, Hatchet III. The twin cities of Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas have lived in the shadow of the Phantom Killer since their 10 week long reign of terror from February to May 1946. Deciding to embrace it, the state line divided communities have yearly Halloween screenings of the 1976 docudrama horror film The Town That Dreaded Sundown. In 2013, a pair of kids leave a makeshift drive-in screening, only to find themselves confronted by a new Phantom Killer. A metafictional sequel produced by Jason Blum and Ryan Murphy, The Town That Dreaded Sundown. In a small middle-American town parents have been gathered to hear the tragic story of Jimmy Harper. Jimmy is a normal clean-cut kid, doing well in school, a leader of the local 4H, and in love with the girl next door Mary Lane. Until the day he meets Jack at the local soda shop and is lured to Jack's marijuana den with the promise of swing dance lessons. Before you know it, Jimmy is hooked and going down the depravity drain to murder and prison. Here it is, students! The final (for now) entry in the Hatchet Series which concludes our AP Course here at SlashU. We cap it all off with Victor Crowley from 2017. The story takes place 10 years after the events of Hatchet III. One of the survivors of the horror in the swamp, Andrew Yong, has written a book about his experience and he's on a tour trying to sell some copies. But a lot of people think Andrew committed all the terrible murders. Through a series of unfortunate events, Andrew finds himself back in the swamp, and because of YouTube the curse of Victor Crowley gets re-enacted and the horror begins anew! Take a listen and enjoy our final episode in this series....until they make another one. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/slashu/support

It's Thanksgiving week, so we're subjecting ourselves to more questionable horror. Not because of the holiday, but because watching movies like Trick is just what we do. Will this movie prove to be a treat or are we just tricking ourselves? Our weekly horror reviews are Iron Sky, Deadtime Stories, Mr. Boogedy, The Being, Itsy Bitsy, Angel Has Fallen, Hatchet II, and Hatchet III.
It was the year when moviegoers watched blood fall from the sky. It was the year when two James Wan films were released, when Chucky returned after a nearly decade-long hiatus and the ominous warning sirens of The Purge were first heard in cinemas. 2013 was a year of many things, and for horror fans, it was a great, game-changing year on both the big and small screens. Continuing our retrospective series on the 2010s, Scott Drebit, Bryan Christopher, Derek Anderson, and Jonathan James take a look back at the memorable horror releases of 2013, including the return of Charles Lee Ray in Curse of Chucky, the introduction of another deadly doll in The Conjuring, the hive mind zombies of World War Z, the star-studded cast of Hatchet III, the unforgettable segment in V/H/S/2, and the blood-soaked showdown between Mia and the Abomination in Fede Alvarez's Evil Dead. The co-hosts also reflect on horror television from 2013, from enduring shows such as American Horror Story: Coven and The Walking Dead to new arrivals Hannibal and Bates Motel, and they also take a look back at video games released that year, including The Last of Us, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and Dead Rising 3. So, join us on another installment of our journey through a decade filled with horror remakes, groundbreaking original films, binge-worthy series, and immersive video games. The 2010s may be getting ready for the grave, but thanks to the decade's immeasurable influence on the world of horror, there's no way it will rest in peace!

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Kane Hodder of Friday the 13th and Hatchet. Kane Warren Hodder was born in Auburn, California. As a child, he was relentlessly bullied and suffered terribly, until he and his family moved to the tiny South Pacific Island Kwajalein, one of the Marshall Islands. Here Kane attended junior and senior high school and loved life on this small jungle island. When Kane eventually returned to California, he started getting stunt jobs on feature films and then made his way into the acting world, eventually to portray the best known, most memorable and terrifying JASON VORHEES, four consecutive times in the Friday the 13th film franchise. To date, Kane Hodder has starred in Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and Jaxon X. Kane is also well known for his role as Victor Crowley in Hatchet, which rolled into the film franchise, Hatchet II and Hatchet III. Kane Hodder is the true definition of dichotomy: he is possibly the most beloved horror icon in the film industry, as well as with his millions of fans. Kane towers at 6'3" and has an intimidating and unforgettable, powerful presence. And a heart of gold. Kane Hodder has starred in more than 200 films and television shows, as well as being stunt coordinator on hundreds of films. Kane is also a published author. In the mid 1980's, Kane was performing a stunt that went horribly wrong, leaving him with first and second degree burns over 75% of his body. It was a long and painful road to recovery. He has the word "Kill!" tattooed on the back of his bottom lip. He is an avid poker player and often plays celebrity tournaments.
