There are a few thing certainties you can count on in movies. If it's an Adam Sandler movie, there'll be at least one fart joke. If it's a Jason Statham movie, there'll be at least one dude getting a limb broken and plenty of punching. This week's movie “A Working Man” that bill. Statham plays Levon Cade, who used to be an elite military operator, but now tries to make an honest living as a working man in construction. He works for land developer Joe Garcia, played by Michael Pena, who knows what he used to do. When Joe's daughter is kidnapped, he pleads to Levon to find and return her. Levon has a young daughter himself, so he can feel this father's pain and agrees. That decision lights the fuse on a bloody mission to find the girl. The human traffickers responsible for taking her, have no idea who is on their trail. Levon makes them very aware of who's hunting them, one by one. Levon has to intimidate, go undercover and just plain go on all-out frontal assaults as part of his quest. Is it worth going to the theater to find out how it all ends? Watch this episode to find out. “A Working Man” also stars Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze, Maximilian Osinski, Cokey Falkow, David Harbour, Noemi Gonzalez, Arianna Rivas, Isla Gie, Emmett J Scanlan and Eve Mauro.Support the showFeel free to reach out to me via:@MoviesMerica on Twitter @moviesmerica on InstagramMovies Merica on Facebook

Aug-Heist rolls on with a return to the mean streets of London! Following Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, director Guy Ritchie goes back to the well of the seedy underworld of British tough guys with this year 2000 release. Several LS2SB actors come back as well, including Jason Statham, Vinnie Jones, Jason Flemyng, Alan Ford, and the film adds some non-Brits, too, with Brad Pitt, Dennis Farina, and Benico del Toro in the mix. Clearly following the "if it ain't broke, bloke, don't fix it, innit" rule, Ritchie hews closely to the formula of his previous film, but the film was a success both critically and commercial. Audiences ate up Snatch, but when Beef and Rum Daddy sink their teeth into it, anything can happen. Note: Lobster the Mobster (A.K.A. Jonny Two Claws A.K.A. The Singing Shellfish A.K.A. The Crusty Caucasian) is still in Witness Protection as of this recording. For more geeky podcasts visit GonnaGeek.com You can find us on iTunes under ''Legends Podcast''. Watching our first-ever vampire movie. Eat Locals is a horr-medy from the #UK with lots of gun fire and several vampires reduced to nothing butt dust. The vampires than run the British Isles have a meeting to coordinate their way of life. Turns out, one of them has been doing stuff they shouldn't, so they have to kill the guy. Enter Sebastian, a regular human who gets a chance to join their little troupe. Unfortunately, vamp in-fighting, and a small army of vampire hunters short-circuits his pledge/initiation process. Now this plucky gang of the undead have to fight their way out by sunrise. Eat Locals final grade: Steve had a hard time following the characters for a bit, but enjoyed the movie overall. Another movie trying to do a little too much balancing on the Horror vs Comedy line. Also had little too much slapstick, but the acting was good and Jason Flemyng showed promise as a director. 3.9/5.0 Brandon another "perfectly fine" movies that demonstrates competent acting, cinematography and production quality. Some good British humor and physical comedy. Unfortunately for Eat Locals, being in this streak of movies that are done professionally actually works against them. 3.41/5 Cocktail of the Week: Shrunken Skull 1 oz Demerara Rum 1 oz Light Rum 1 oz Fresh-Squeezed Lime Juice 1 oz oz Fancy Grenadine, not the Rose's Brand garbage Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain over ice in a rocks glass. No garnish required. Cocktail Grade: A sweet cocktail that packs a punch. Definitely would not be as good with a lower-quality grenadine, so click the link to see how Steve made it. 4.78/5 https://youtu.be/CvEDhkR6K14?si=9axLXWGD3NZ2E7sE&t=239 ------------------ Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to: boozeandbmovies@gmail.com X: @boozeandbmovies Instagram: @boozeandbmovies Threads: @boozeandbmovies www.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/boozeandbmovies/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/boozeandbmovies/support

It is also filmed in the same visual style and features many of the same actors, including Vinnie Jones, Jason Statham, Jason Flemyng, and Alan Ford.

This special episode of the HOPE not hate (HNH) podcast is a recording of one of our fringe meetings at this year's Labour conference. It features a conversation between Kevin Maguire from The Daily Mirror and HNH's Head of Intelligence, Matthew Collins, about the true story behind the dramatic new ITV series The Walk-In starring Stephen Graham as Matthew Collins. The Walk-In tells the incredible true story about how Matthew worked with a mole, Robbie Mullen, inside the then-banned neo-nazi terror group, National Action, to foil a murder plot, save the life of the then-Labour MP Rosie Cooper, send the plotter to jail and ultimately bring down National Action for good. It's a remarkable story brought to life by Stephen Graham, Jason Flemyng and others. In this conversation between Matthew and Kevin, the pair examine the story behind National Action, running a mole inside the group, the pressure Matthew was put under by the security services, and the psychological toll the whole case has had on Matthew and Robbie. To close, the pair field a few questions from the floor.TW: This episode contains discussions about subjects that people might find disturbing or upsetting.Matthew's new book, telling the full story behind The Walk-In, is available now from the HNH webstore: https://hopenothate.bigcartel.com/product/the-walk-in-fascists-spies-lies------Podcast produced by Nick Spooner------♪ Alone (Prod. by Lukrembo) Link : https://youtu.be/fLXLhOyo-2w

On this episode, the 2022 Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza puts on its sandals and raises its sword to the sky as we chat about 2010's Clash of the Titans! Why is it that every monster in this movie had to be as big as a house, meanwhile most of Harryhausen's 1981 monsters are much smaller and way more terrifying? Why did we have to make this an edge lord revenge film instead of a fantasy/romance adventure? And did Ralph Fiennes really think he could play Hades just like he played Voldemort and no one would notice? PLUS: Much talk about Desmond Davis's totally kick-ass, original film from 1981! #AnyaLahiri #Barrysbootcamp #barrys On this week's show we have one of Britain's top fitness instructors Anya Lahiri. You only have to open a glossy magazine to find Lahiri listed as one of most sort after, elite fitness instructors in the UK today and during lockdown thousands of people tuned in worldwide to take her instagram live classes. Lahiri was also instrumental in bringing high-intensity, fitness studio phenomenon Barry's Bootcamp to the UK. With its latest studio about to open in Liverpool it is difficult to imagine the leap of faith it took on Lahiri's part to bring Barry's to the UK after taking a class in LA and even harder to imagine that there was ever time when a landlord might have been hesitant to rent them a space to create studio. We caught up with Lahiri to talk about life in general, Barry's, her acting career and the time she represented Britain at Eurovision as part of the girl group Precious. As a little side note for her wikipedia page, not many people know that Lahiri also turned in a very funny performance as a senior centre's fitness instructor in the second half of the comedy film Great in Britain: The Movie. She gives a great comedic performance in movie that also stars the late, great Peter Bowles, Jason Flemyng, Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham, Colin Salmon, Ben Starr and a cast of great British talent. https://greatinbritainmovie.com/

Bienvenido a La Wikly. Hasta el lunes, This is a public episode. Director Neville Pierce and editor Jim Page chat about Nev's newly released directed short films Bricks, Ghosted and Lock In, all starring well known names including Jason Flemyng, Alice Lowe and Ray Panthaki to name a few and collaborating with Jim who edited them all. We discuss Nev's writing for Empire Magazine (where he's a contributing editor) and learning from watching David Fincher on set with his actors while interviewing him for Total Film and after interviewing Jack Nicholson thinking can it get better than this, decided to make the leap to being a filmmaker himself. Fincher read one of his scripts and liked it and that is surely worthy of making the switch. We also discuss how important it is to have rapport with your editor who can be "a less pressured second director", Getting named cast attached to your shorts and raising finance.
