In 2005, for the first time in their history, Pearl Jam took the trek across the entire nation of Canada visiting many cities and provinces for the first, and for some the only time. While the band had been no stranger to Montreal, this night in the city of saints was special for reasons beyond the stage. It was the one-year anniversary that a dear friend and founding father of punk rock Johnny Ramone had passed away. The entirety of this set pays tribute to the man who Eddie Vedder considered one of his best friends and heroes. From the start of the show with Release, you are able to tell how difficult it was for Ed to get through it with many emotions bubbling to the surface. There are stretches of songs in this show ranging from songs that Johnny loved such as Corduroy and Last Kiss to songs that dealt with the themes of death and loss such as Light Years, Sad and Man Of The Hour. There are even two Ramones songs played here as we'll get to hear I Believe In Miracles and a tag of I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend that occurred at the end of Better Man. And this may surprise many of you, but there are not one, but two Cat Stevens covers played at this show. Believe it or not, there is a connection there with Johnny Ramone, and we'll share that as we discuss the set. Tagging in here to help out with this episode is one half of the Hallucinogenic Recipe podcast, Patrick Boegel, who was in attendance for this show and will share his memories involving a Fresh Canadian Rastaman. We'll also dig into Eddie's recent performances on the SNL 50 Homecoming special and how Ed, Jack White and others did a great job paying homage to the history of the show. We celebrate episode 100 of the podcast with the talented and legendary Jean Beauvoir. Jean just released his new book "Bet My Soul on Rock 'n' Roll: Diary of a Black Punk Icon" so discuss the book plus:- Differences of producing a new band versus an established band- The surreality of someone fact checking your life- Berklee trained musicians who can't play a Ramones song the right way- The youthful confidence it takes to play on stage with Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley when you're only a teenager- Why its important to have actual music producers and engineers and the skill behind it- Brining "Motown-punk" basslines to the Plasmatics- Hearing music in your head before the song is even written- Not being being pigeonholed to one genre or skill & much moreJean Beauvoir - https://www.jeanbeauvoir.comhttp://instagram.com/jbeauvoirhttps://www.facebook.com/JeanBeauvoirOFFICIALhttp://www.twitter.com/jeanbeauvoirhttps://www.youtube.com/user/jeanbeauvoirhttps://www.chicagoreviewpress.comCheck out the Power Chord Hour radio show every Friday night at 10 to midnight est on 107.9 WRFA in Jamestown, NY. I Believe In Miracles 7/11/2021
This is the penultimate episode in our Around The World series as we dip into this great Mexico City tour closer from 2003. There are many ingredients in the recipe for a perfect show, but the integral pieces from this set are so unique and unlike any other of its kind. First off, it's a tour closer. Second, it's a lucrative night 3 show, those don't come around too often. Does it have rare songs? You bet! Guest appearances? Hell Yeah! Well, it can't possibly happen to have all of that AND be on the birthday of a band member, right? Oh you are in for a treat my friend! The band says goodbye to the far traveled and controversial Riot Act tour by throwing a massive party to celebrate. It happens to be the founding member, Stone Gossard's date of birth, so what's a better gift than to bring out a mariachi band to sing Las Mananitas, La Bamba and Guantalamera? You can tell from the energy on the stage how good a mood everyone is in for this show as they play up to a red hot crowd and hangout with friends and tour opener Sleater-Kinney. Big highlights from this night include an opener of Wash, Hunger Strike feat. Corin Tucker, Black, Rearviewmirror with an improv, Mankind for Stone and a phone call to none other than Johnny Ramone before a performance of I Believe In Miracles. It's a show more than worthy of a high spot on Pearl Jam's all-time lists! Patreon: http://patreon.com/liveon4legs Discord: https://discord.gg/jbpughvC

Continuing our trip through South America, this week we bring you to where it all began in 2005. This show from Santiago, Chile is the band's first ever in the continent, and while there was some hesitation and concern due to the crowd's size in the early onset, the boys found their comfort zone and fed off the energy of such a passionate group of fans. Joining us on this episode is our friend and patron Javier Hervas who gets to talk a little about his experience of living down in Chile and never getting a chance to see the band. He'll discuss the crowd and how early they were to get there, what it meant to hear the band kick off the show with Release and Corduroy as well as the influence that The Ramones had on South American fans and why their performance of I Believe In Miracles was so special from this night. We'll listen to some outstanding performances and crowd reactions throughout this night including a powerful Even Flow, an outstanding version of Save You and a rendition of Black that blew the crowd away. We're now 4 episodes into our Wrigley month and in this one we'll talk about some of the best moments from the first night in 2016. The band returned to the friendly confines, this time under better weather conditions, and put on a show with so many special moments befitting of the ballpark atmosphere. One of the first biggest moments we discussed in full detail with the man himself, Dr. John Evans, on the previous episode about his well documented journey as he spent 4 days camped out in front to be on the rail while they played Release. The band dedicated the song to him in an emotional tribute. But it wasn't the only emotional moment of the night. There was also a marriage proposal on stage, a final goodbye to the Tragically Hip's Gord Downie and an inspirational appearance from Steve Gleason speaking to the crowd before an incredible version of Inside Job. As usual with the ballpark shows, there was also a heavy array of cover songs that we'll talk about in full detail. The big ones from this show are without a doubt Masters of War and I Believe In Miracles played acoustically. Near the end of the show Ed would show his love for the Cubs bringing out family members of former 3B Ron Santo and his all-time favorite player, Jose Cardenal, to join him for a special rendition of Cubs anthem All The Way. I’ve been posting blogs about my journey as the caregiver of a special needs adult with Alzheimer’s. On February 28th, my beautiful sister, that I lovingly referred to as my Boss passed away. She fought the long goodbye longer than anybody thought possible. She struggled to live for me, because I did not want her to go and she seemed to know that. But, the day came when I knew she had to go to the emergency room. She could no longer eat. She’d forgotten how. She could no longer stand on her own. She’d forgotten how. She stopped trying to be my Boss and I realized I was losing her in pieces. Doors were closing in her brain to prepare for the end of life. Putting her in hospice devastated me, but having to bring her home after seven days to die, totally took me by surprise. Two nights later, she passed away. I got to bathe her and spend quality time with her before she was taken away for her last ride in my community. So this is Goodbye to a piece of my heart and soul. Rest In Heaven Gussie Grant. My Name Is Tahiera Monique Brown and I Believe In Miracles.

As a speaker and as a survivor, my words are meant to be a pathway to freedom. On my honor I promise to seek the right words with the voice that God has given me to bring light into the darkness of the broken hearted. I am not perfect and I am broken, beaten and battered because of abuse, but I have faced the challenges to be free. It was the voice of a speaker that I heard for the first time on television, that gave me the will to fight and to live. I pray that my voice be that voice for you. My Name Is Tahiera Monique Brown and I Believe In Miracles!
As caregivers, we face pain and heartbreak. The loved ones that we care for depends on us no matter what is going on in our lives. Your body can be getting broken down from the lifting, carrying your love one, changing bed clothes and diapers to giving lifesaving meds, to feeding, bathing and dressing them. You reach a point where a good cry is not enough. Praying is not enough. That is when you need to talk to someone who understands your plight. I reached that point and looked for respite care, but it was too expensive. I saw that I had no choice but to pray to God. After my prayer, I was ready to face my day. Later, that very same day, my daughter told me, “Mama, I am taking a few days off work to help you.” God heard my plea and answered my prayer. My name is Tahiera Monique Brown and I Believe In Miracles.
When I was faced with choosing my life over my children’s, that’s when I knew that I trusted my faith more than anything. I’d been having to trust God all of my life and I’d learned to pray as a little child. I knew of one God and He had always stood by me and brought me through all kinds of trials and I knew he was with me in that critical hour. All I asked of Him was to let me witness the fact that my children were safe. My Name Is Tahiera Monique Brown and I Believe In Miracles.
As promised, Party Favorz is back with even more smoldering summer dance club tracks! We pick the hits, so you don't have to hunt for them on Spotify. Okay, that may be an overstatement, but we (meaning I) do my best to ensure you're getting the latest and greatest along with upcoming club tracks that are hitting my radar and wrapping them up in one tight continuous dance set. After all, who wants a bunch of random radio edits that fade in out? You can listen to the radio for free for that. Beach Party 2018 part 2 takes on a whole new direction in that not only did I include a multitude of current and upcoming hits but picked up some fun disco and house classics that have been reworked for today's dancefloor. It definitely keeps things interesting. For instance, KC & the Sunshine Band's "Get Down Tonight" has been entirely revamped and is currently blowing up just about every chart I've seen and rightfully so. Though it's a tad bit overcompressed (beyond my control), the disco original explodes with synths and heavy bass making it a perfect staple for a new generation. Equally, Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing" get's an overhaul with Softmal's "I Believe In Miracles," which creates a sense of relevance and fun for today's listeners while keeping bouncy playfulness of the original nearly intact. There are many others included here that go by different names, but you'll instantly recognize them once the chorus hits. Other tracks that I've been all over include AuRa and Camelphat's "Panic Room" and Sofi Tukker's playful disco-infused "Batshit" courtesy of Purple Disco Machine. With new tracks from P!nk, Sultan + Shepard, Vassy, Jonas Blue, Ariana Grande, Troy Sivan and the song of the summer "I Like It" by Cardi B; it's almost like Christmas in summer. If you're looking for the amazing new Robyn track "Missing U" sorrow because the official remixes are not out yet other than a couple of bootlegs that don't come close to doing this fantastic track justice.
