We can continue the debate about whether this was the best OHL second round in a decade, but we can do it after we enjoy two Game 7's. That's right, half of the OHL's second round series' are going the distance and, in the case of Windsor-Kitchener, one team is trying to come back from 0-3 down. It's going to be a great day for the league and its fans. London, which still hasn't dropped a game in these playoffs, awaits the West winner while the Oshawa Generals will watch Barrie and Kingston to see where they play next (Oshawa, the 4-seed, will start the East Final on the road). Speaking of Oshawa, the Gens came into this season on a mission. After being swept out of last year's OHL Final by London, the Gens' plan was to finish what they started in 2024. Are they on a collision course with the Knights again? Jack Moore, the voice of the Oshawa Generals, joins us to break down the season and the playoffs so far. He'll also tell Farwell how he got it so wrong after Farwell picked Oshawa to lose in both the first AND second rounds this year. We've got more news from around the league, too, as there's talk of increasing the number of Imports, an Eastern Conference team gets a 15-year extension on its arena lease (but that arena needs some TLC), and OHL fans got robbed of one of the league's most dynamic players to end the playoffs (and, as a result, Brantford's season may have ended prematurely). Plus, when in Windsor, while there are many places to find a great pizza, only one place serves the best. I dare you to argue with me (ohlpodcast@rogers.com). In hour 1, our guest is Dr. Mark Sircus, Ac., OMD, DM (P) (acupuncturist, doctor of oriental and pastoral medicine). He is a prolific writer and author of some astounding medical and health-related books. Dr. Sircus's methods are based on medical science and long years of clinical experience, not only his own but experiences of doctors from around the world who have been practicing brilliant medicine. His books are heavily referenced, but the layperson finds little difficulty in understanding his presentation of medical topics. For many years Dr. Sircus has been researching into the human condition and into the causes of disease; he has distilled many of the divergent medical systems into a new form of medicine that he has coined Natural Allopathic Medicine.https://drsircus.comIn hour 2, our guest is Jack Moore. He is a former prosecutor turned pitching coach and podcaster, blending his love for competition, strategy, and storytelling into everything he does. A lifelong sports fanatic, Jack has a deep passion for old-time baseball—the days when the game was about grit, not contracts, and anyone with talent and heart could step onto a sandlot and prove themselves. For him, baseball was once the ultimate neighborhood sport, where communities came together, and the best players rose to the top, regardless of background. But Jack's interests don't stop at the pitcher's mound. He's just as passionate about football, especially his beloved Washington Commanders, and he can talk Constitutional law with the best of them. A true history buff, he has a sharp eye for dissecting major moments in American history—none more fascinating to him than the JFK assassination, a topic he's spent countless hours analyzing from every angle.https://www.mooretoconsider.comOur radio show is live every week from Noon to 2 PM ET. Today I spoke with Jack Moore, a man I'd describe as an expert on the John F Kennedy assassination, and lots of people claim to be an expert, and some, like Jack can back it up. You can read the books, you can speak to eye witnesses, even members of Congress. It takes more, and Jack has done the deep dive and what's more can with confidence explain why it was Lee Harvey Oswald who pulled the trigger. But Why? We know who did it, but why was JFK assassinated, and who was really the power behind the assassination. Jack Moore https://www.mooretoconsider.com/
What happens when a beloved sports identity collides with evolving cultural awareness? In this candid conversation with Papamutes, Jack Moore—host of Moore to Consider podcast and lifelong Washington football fan—takes us on a journey through the controversial transition from Redskins to Commanders.Moore offers a fascinating historical perspective on the team's origins, tracing the Redskins name back to 1932 when the franchise began as the Boston Braves before moving to Washington in 1937. He explains how the iconic Indian head logo came to be, designed by Walter "Blackie" Wetzel of the Blackfeet Nation and based on the profile that appeared on the Buffalo nickel. This history provides crucial context for understanding why many fans felt deeply connected to the original identity. The conversation doesn't shy away from the complexities surrounding Native American representation in sports. Moore references polls showing mixed opinions within Native communities, shares stories of students on reservations proudly wearing Redskins gear, and discusses the contrasting example of Florida State's partnership with the Seminole Tribe. These nuances highlight why the debate transcends simple categorizations of right and wrong.Perhaps most compelling is Moore's personal story as a fan who witnessed the team's evolution—from attending the first game at RFK Stadium in 1969 to seeing the stadium filled with opposing fans in recent years. His emotional connection to players like Art Monk, Darrell Green, and Sonny Jurgensen demonstrates how team identities become intertwined with our personal histories and memories.Whether you're a football historian, a Washington fan, or someone interested in the intersection of sports and cultural identity, this episode provides valuable perspective on one of the most significant rebranding stories in professional sports. How do we balance tradition with progress? Who gets to decide when a name becomes unacceptable? Welcome to Season Two of Gone South, the Edward R. Murrow-Award winning documentary podcast from C13Originals. Starting in the early sixties, a rag-tag confederation of traveling criminals known as The Dixie Mafia terrorized every state from Georgia to Oklahoma. Its hundreds of members, unofficially headquartered in Biloxi, Mississippi, specialized in scams, heists and murder. Their ringleader — the estranged son of a prominent Oklahoma politician — was a skilled and charismatic outlaw named Kirksey Nix. When Nix was sentenced to life in prison at Angola for a murder he committed in New Orleans, The Dixie Mafia was thought to be extinct. But fifteen years later, a sitting criminal court judge named Vincent Sherry and his wife Margaret, a mayoral candidate for the city of Biloxi, were assassinated. As the case ran cold, authorities were forced to confront a disturbing reality: the reign of Kirksey Nix and The Dixie Mafia was far from over. Gone South is a creation and production of Peabody-nominated C13Originals, a Cadence13 studio, in association with Jed and Tom Lipinski.
