Adam Gorham is a comic book artist on such titles as TMNT Universe, Jughead: The Hunger, James Bond 007, Power Rangers, Marvel's Contagion and Rocket (starring Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy). He is currently drawing Punk Mambo for Valiant. Adam was born in Perth, Ontario but was raised in Mississauga, Ontario and still makes his home there now with his family. On the podcast, Adam goes through his long, strange trip from art school drop-out and disgruntled grocery store warehouse employee to working for major comic companies like Marvel, Image and Valiant. This includes finding his first gig as a comic artist on Craigslist, working with Toronto radio personality “Fearless” Fred Kennedy on Fred's self-published, three volume indie book Teuton, and eventually breaking out as the artist on The Violent, a creator-owned gritty crime book published by Image and written by Ghost Rider and Old Man Logan scribe Ed Brisson.Aaron also gets Adam's take on the New Mutants trailer since he worked on New Mutants: Dead Souls with writer Matthew Rosenberg (4 Kids Walk Into a Bank) which was the book that was likely going to launch as the movie came out before the film got delayed. Adam also tells a wild story about randomly discovering his letter envelope art in a Wizard Magazine years after the fact. This episode is sponsored by Hairy Tarantula and Bam Coffee Co. And we also finish off All Star Superman with issue #12! Next Time: Marvel 1602 Pt. 1 (#1-4) and Marvels #0

The Comics Agenda 126: Dani Does Stuff The hype is real as we all prepare to watch Avengers: Endgame this weekend. MCU Draft We start the hype train by drafting MCU characters onto NFL teams. Greg started the draft out with the number one pick and took the first Avenger, Captain America. Insha surprised many with making the Scarlet Witch the second off the board. A little controversy as Michael took Inshas obsession Bucky Barnes at the top of the second. Who else got taken and what surprises were left on the board? You will have to listen to find out. A New Kind of Beer In our weekly wacky news story Michael presents the story of a Polish man who has created a beer that has been infused with the essence of supermodels. This is a story that you do not want your kids around for. New Comicbooks After a couple of weeks of slim pickings we are back to six comics this week. We get the party started with Jughead The Hunger vs Vamperonica #1. We get a chance to visit spirits in the woods with Ghost Tree #1, and then unleash our inner punk, with Punk Mambo #1. Plus plenty of other books. Check them out and tell us what you think of this weeks picks The Comics Agenda is hosted by Anelise (Twitter@Anelise.Farris ), Michael (Twitter@mokepf7) and Greg (Twitter@Comicsportsgeek). Club Med for Mutants Sometimes you can accumulate too many comics, manga and graphic novels, and when that happens then it's time for a good old-fashioned blowout, so join Andrew, Rob and Producer Rob for a special episode where there's a little less conversation and a little more action.  So what's in store on this episode that's chock-full of graphic literature goodness? There's inhales Tales of Suspense Featuring Hawkeye and The Winter Soldier, Rogue & Gambit: Ring of Fire, Legion: Trauma, the first volume of Akiko Higashimura's Tokyo Tarareba Girls, Astonishing X-Men: A Man Called X, Jughead: The Hunger, Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers, the first volume of Stephen McCranie's Space Boy, and IAN: An Electric Monkey by Ralph Meyer and Fabien Vehlmann exhales. That was a lot of comics and manga, so while you wade through this episode we're off to lie down for a bit. We'll be back to our normal routine next week when we'll be talking about the new Spider-Man game. Alternate Reality - Episode #397 All in all, it’s starting to feel a little like autumn. The days are getting a little shorter, it’s still warm outside but the evenings aren’t as bad. Labor Day will be on us next week, and not long after that the leaves will start to turn colors. We’re starting to look forward to harvest, pumpkins, trick-or-treat, and scary tales. Scary things are the theme this week as we’re talking werewolves. But not just werewolves, the boys also talk about what makes Batman the biggest boogie-man in the dark. The Justice League are busy fighting things that go bump in the night in JLA Dark. Speaking of the dark, it doesn’t get much darker that the cold unfeeling heart of Darth Vader. Jon and Charlie talk about what makes him tick in last week’s issue. Taken together it’s a spook-tacular warm up to what’s bound to be an excellent Halloween season. Enjoy!!! Alternate Reality - Episode #388 Charlie this week is going deep on Descender from Image Comics telling why his feelings are so strong coming from the bottom of his very soul. He’s also crazy about the Flash War. He relates an amazing story found in the pages of Jughead: The Hunger about werewolves in the Archie universe. And finally, Charlie reads a republished Star Wars story from Dark Horse in what is clearly a cash grab to coincide with the new Solo movie. However, that doesn’t deter Charlie who had a lot of fun with the comedic revisionist history of Tag and Bink Were Here. Meanwhile Jon is telling us about mostly the same books again. He does get to mix it up just a little with Man of Steel #1, which is a new series about the same character that Jon always talks about. Jon fills us in on whether the wait for Bendis was worth it and whether or not he delivered on this seminal fist issue. Also, Jon follows up on Justice League: No Justice #3, and breaks a little more new ground with Doomsday Clock #5. In this episode, Greg and Leon discuss: - Satanic Panic era occult horror in Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack's fantastic "Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, Vol.1 : The Crucible". (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chilling_Adventures_of_Sabrina) - The love letter to the Hammer Horror movies of old, a story with heart AND horror, "Mr Higgins Comes Home" (https://www.darkhorse.com/Books/3001-524/Mr-Higgins-Comes-Home-HC) - Archie Comics classic monster horror with "Jughead: The Hunger #1". (http://archiecomics.com/firstlooks10-25-17/) - An anthology of twisted tales set within the DC universe "DC House Of Horror #1". (http://www.dccomics.com/comics/dc-house-of-horror-2017/dc-house-of-horror-1) - And the creeping darkness and looming shadows of Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook's"Harrow County, Vol.1 : Countless Haints". (https://www.darkhorse.com/Books/26-617/Harrow-County-Volume-1-Countless-Haints-TPB) We also tackle a listener question concerning our preferences for being stuck as prey for a comic book creation on a small island, and a question from Rahul around which comic book character we would nominate to replace and be used as Thor's Hammer! The duo fly home planning their next move. Meanwhile, Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Huntress, breaks into Logan's loft, tracking down leads to Creed H. Quinn, the Hyena. This decision doesn't sit well with Sparrow at first, but soon the three begin looking for clues Hyena might have set back at the Gotham Gazette. They discover two clues, AF1 meaning Air Force One, and NaCN for Sodium Cyonide a deadly poison. The three head immediately to Air Force One, and arrive just as Hyena makes his move.
