Apologies for the hum + crackle on the audio folks - Caro did her best to try and remove it in post but didn't make much progress. This has only impacted 2 recordings and we will be doing test runs to avoid it next recording session! The Keddie Cabin Murders of April 1981 are one of Northern California's infamous unsolved cases - but they really shouldn't be. Research into this case reveals that very little was done to actually investigate the brutal murders of Glenna "Sue" Sharp, her son Johnny Sharp, Johnny's friend Dana Wingate, and the kidnapping and ultimate discovery of Sue's daughter Tina's remains in 1984. It's been over 40 years and this quadruple homicide is still unsolved, but someone knows something. If you know anything about the murders of Glenna "Sue" Sharp, Johnny Sharp, Dana Wingate, or Tina Sharp, please contact the Plumas County Sheriff's office at (530) 283-6360. If you prefer to remain anonymous, you can contact Crimestoppers via their app, website, or call 1-800-222-TIPS. On the night of April 11-12, 1981, 35 year old Sue Sharp, her 15 year old son John Sharp, and his friend 17 year old Dana Wingate were brutally murdered in Sue's rented Cabin at a resort located in Keddie, California. Sue's 12 year old daughter was also missing from the scene, though her remains would turn up just over 3 years later about 65 miles away near Feather Falls, California. Two suspects emerged. But because of a botched investigation, mishandled and overlooked evidence, and political rivalries, the case became nearly unsolvable. The case sat cold for more than 3 decades before it was assigned to investigators with the Plumas County Cold Case Unit. With advancements in technology and DNA, there may be a chance to finally give the families of the victims the answers they've been waiting for, for more than 4 decades. This is the story of the Cabin 28 - The Keddie Murders. In 1979, Sue Sharp left her husband and moved her five kids to cabin 28 in Keddie, California. Two years later, Sue, her eldest son, and his friend, Dana, were found murdered inside the cabin. Do you want a respite from the hustle and bustle of your daily grind in the city? Close your eyes and imagine this: it's a bright and cheery weekend, and you're whiling away the day in the far northern edge of California's Sierra Nevada mountain range surrounded by vast lakes and verdant forests. After communing with nature, you retreat to a rustic cabin, and dine on fresh fish, local barbecued bear ribs, and fine wine. Sounds like pure bliss, right? That would have been a typical day for guests at Keddie Resort in Plumas County, California roughly 40 years ago. But when the resort town became the spot of a quadruple homicide in 1981, it was abandoned, later becoming a rotted refuge for squatters and drifters. The glory days of the resort town are long gone, and the truth behind the deaths of four people is still lost, decades later.
In the middle of the night, three people are killed in a crowded family home—and a twelve-year-old girl disappears, only to turn up dead later. Three little boys are spared during the violent attack, but two families will never be the same again. Who killed Sue Sharp, two of her children, and a family friend? An abusive ex? An enraged neighbor? A deranged admirer with a crush on a preteen girl? Let's find out.

This week, we move a little too close to Deed's family vacation. We shatter that peaceful little lake atmosphere with the unsolved murders in Cabin 28. Join us as we discuss the quadruple homicide of Sue Sharp, her children John and Tina Sharp, and John's friend, Dana Wingate. Late on the evening of April 11, 1981 (or possibly the early morning of April 12th), someone brutally murdered Sue Sharp, her son John, and Dana Wingate. The scene was so chaotic and bloody that no one realized Tina Sharp was missing for hours. Her remains would not be found until 3 years later...and more than 50 miles away in Butte County. In this magnificent second episode of Luminol Cocktail, Tiffany and Lindsey dive into two very frustratingly botched cold cases – the sighs just won’t stop between these two! Lindsey opens up this episode with the Keddie Murders from 1981 discussing the brutality the victims faced in their last moments while furiously picking apart the investigation, if we can even call it that anymore. Tiffany discusses the murder of a mother and her two children which yet again features a less than ideal investigation as the husband is once again looked at without suspicion initially. We learn what really ticks Tiffany off when evidence and multiple confessions are ignored by investigators. Tiffany explains how New Zealand is airing commercials that feature porn stars to educate kids on sex causing Lindsey to confess that she never had the sex talk with her parents (lucky her) while Tiffany got more than she bargained for when she was sick in bed at 12 years old. As always, anything mentioned in this podcast will be featured in a blog post on Luminolcocktail.com along with sources and various other updates. Keddie had represented hope for the Sharp family (a single mother and her five children)-- hope that they could escape the evils already inflicted upon them in this world. So, when 14-year-old Sheila walked into the front door of her home after staying the night with a friend to find her mother, brother, and her brother's friend brutally murdered, she knew that the escape had only been temporary. Evil, worse than they had ever known, had come knocking again.
In April of 1981, a violent crime would tear apart a quiet town in northern California.Keddie is a small town in the Sierra Nevada mountains, located roughly halfway between Redding and Reno. Originally established as a stop along the railroad, the area was in the middle of a total transition when the Sharp family moved there in the latter half of 1980. On the morning of April 11th, 1981, 14-year-old Sheila Sharp was returning from a neighbor's house following a sleepover. That was when she discovered the gruesome crime scene that had been left behind... and the vile mystery that would haunt her (and the rest of Keddie) for the next four decades... On the morning of April 12, 1981, 14-year-old Sheila Sharp returned from a neighbor's home after a sleepover to find her mother, 36-year-old Sue Sharp, 15-year-old brother John, and John's 17-year-old best friend Dana dead on the floor, victims of an apparent massacre by way of knife and hammer. They were bound, and had been tortured, leaving many in shock, wondering who could do such a thing. But that's when they realized 12-year-old Tina Sharp, Sue' daughter, was missing from the home. She'd been abducted by the perpetrators. It would be three long years before answers arrived, though, in the form of learning Tina's remains were discovered in a remote location outside Keddie. To this day, however, the case remains unsolved. Join host Ryan Kraus for a unique profile of the killers, an examination of the autopsies, and a tour through the crime scene, as we endeavor to unlock the truth in this terrifying case.
Elliot and Lucy take an in-depth look at a 1981 unsolved quadruple homicide. Three members of the Sharp family and a friend are brutally murdered, and possibly tortured in the living room of the Sharp’s cabin in Keddie California. All while 3 young boys were left unharmed in an adjacent bedroom. The remote run-down town didn’t provide many suspects. Who was capable of such a violent crime? A friend, an ex-boyfriend, corrupt law enforcement, or a complete stranger?
Stacey shocks us with the apparent satanic ritualistic murder of 19-year-old Arlis Perry done in the sanctity of her own church. Erin retells the Keddie cabin murders in which a quadruple homicide takes place in a rural resort town in Northern California.Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/ISGDpodcast)

In this episode we will try and recount the events of a triple homicide that occurred on the night of April 11, 1981 at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in a California town. A mother, her 15 year old son, and his friend were bound, bludgeoned, and stabbed to death all while two siblings and the son of a family friend slept quietly in the house. When a neighbor is sent to check out the scene he peers through a bedroom window and finds three unharmed adolescent boys. He ushers them through a window sparing them from the grotesque scene beyond the bedroom. Upon further inspection of the scene investigators will find that there is someone missing from the house, the fifth child of the murdered woman, a 12 year old girl. She is nowhere to be found. The slaying of the family members in cabin #28 comes to be known as the Keddie Murders and remains unsolved to this day. With its various twists and turns it has gained a following within the true crime community and, like most unsolved crimes, each suspect or possible scenario has its following of armchair sleuths confirming this is what happened on that Spring night. So like always let’s lay out the facts and talk about possible scenarios and theories. truecrimecouple.com patreon.com/truecrimecouple #truecrime #trimecrimecommunity #podernfamily #audioboom #podbean #googleplay #keddieCA #keddiemurders #cabin28
