He works as Senior Research Assistant at the School of Digital Arts of Manchester Metropolitan University, where he has completed his PhD on the roles of sound, vibration and resonance-based processes in contemporary occulture and paranormal practices. His artistic practice spans from electroacoustic composition to free improvisation and psychedelic rock, in solo and with bands such as Mamuthones and Cacotopos. As Yami Kurae – with Jacopo Bortolussi – he develops experimental games inspired by psychogeography and occultural practices. He is co-founder of D∀RK – Dark Arts Research Kollective at MMU, and co- artistic director of the association for experimental music research Centro d'Arte dell'Università di Padova.Matteo's recent article in Revenant Journal dives deep into the sonic and atmospheric dimensions of the paranormal documentary series Hellier. From Reddit threads to academic conferences, Matteo's journey into Fortean soundscapes is as unexpected as it is fascinating.Matteo recounts his initial encounter with Hellier and how its unique approach to paranormal investigation inspired him to analyze it academically. Unlike typical ghost-hunting shows, Hellier emphasizes experiential and atmospheric elements, which resonated with his interests in sound studies and Fortean phenomena.Matteo's article shifts the lens from why paranormal entities emerge to how sensory experiences (especially sound) create a sense of supernatural agency. Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing shocking new allegations about his private life, with a former male sex worker stepping forward to detail claims of ritualistic sex parties, voyeurism, and heavy drug use. The accusations were published in a new Rolling Stone exposé, adding to the growing list of legal and reputational challenges for the embattled hip-hop mogul. A man using the pseudonym Nathan spoke to Rolling Stone about his alleged experiences with Combs, claiming he was frequently paid between $2,000 and $5,000 to participate in the music mogul's notorious "freak-off" parties. According to Nathan, Combs was meticulous about how these encounters unfolded. “I think he would try to regulate her pleasure,” Nathan said of Combs' role in directing the sessions. He described the experiences as “ritualistic,” where Combs would “choreograph every movement” until he became too intoxicated to continue. Nathan recounted meeting Combs in lavish hotel rooms in Miami, New York, and Los Angeles, where he was required to surrender his phone before undressing and using baby oil that had been warmed in hot water. “I don't use baby oil to this day because of all the baby oil I used to put on me,” he shared. “The hotel rooms were freezing. The baby oil was warm, so if you were cold and your clothes were locked in another room, the baby oil kept you warm.” Nathan also described Combs' alleged voyeuristic tendencies, claiming that the Bad Boy Entertainment founder would sometimes pretend to leave the room but secretly watch from the shadows. “He would pretend to leave the room but, like, go around the corner and crawl in the room on the floor and peek around the corner or use the mirrors,” Nathan alleged. “Really creepy sh*t, obviously. Because it's, like, your girlfriend. Why do you even have to do that?” Drug use was also a significant part of the parties, according to Nathan, who claimed Combs was particularly fond of ecstasy and ketamine. He alleged that these substances fueled Combs' sexual compulsions, making him “a sex addict” and an “obsessive drug addict.” Nathan even suspects he was unknowingly drugged at one of the events, describing a "horrible reaction" that left him disoriented. “This stuff had me so out of my mind,” he said, describing Combs as “entrenched” in his addictions. Combs' legal team has worked to present him as a changed man, particularly in light of the 2016 incident where he was seen abusing then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. His lawyers pointed to his willingness to return to New York despite knowing he would be arrested as proof of his supposed "reformation." Nathan, however, strongly rejected that narrative. “It's bullsh*t,” he stated. “He's not reformed. He just wanted to get out of jail. He's the same person.” While Combs' legal team has declined to comment on Nathan's allegations specifically, his lead attorney, Marc Agnifilo, claimed that they had already interviewed multiple male sex workers connected to the mogul. “I have asked all the questions I could think of: Was anybody too drunk? Was anybody too high? Did anyone express any hesitation? Was there the slightest inkling that possibly, possibly the woman wasn't consenting?… No. No. No. No,” Agnifilo said. Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing shocking new allegations about his private life, with a former male sex worker stepping forward to detail claims of ritualistic sex parties, voyeurism, and heavy drug use. The accusations were published in a new Rolling Stone exposé, adding to the growing list of legal and reputational challenges for the embattled hip-hop mogul. A man using the pseudonym Nathan spoke to Rolling Stone about his alleged experiences with Combs, claiming he was frequently paid between $2,000 and $5,000 to participate in the music mogul's notorious "freak-off" parties. According to Nathan, Combs was meticulous about how these encounters unfolded. “I think he would try to regulate her pleasure,” Nathan said of Combs' role in directing the sessions. He described the experiences as “ritualistic,” where Combs would “choreograph every movement” until he became too intoxicated to continue. Nathan recounted meeting Combs in lavish hotel rooms in Miami, New York, and Los Angeles, where he was required to surrender his phone before undressing and using baby oil that had been warmed in hot water. “I don't use baby oil to this day because of all the baby oil I used to put on me,” he shared. “The hotel rooms were freezing. The baby oil was warm, so if you were cold and your clothes were locked in another room, the baby oil kept you warm.” Nathan also described Combs' alleged voyeuristic tendencies, claiming that the Bad Boy Entertainment founder would sometimes pretend to leave the room but secretly watch from the shadows. “He would pretend to leave the room but, like, go around the corner and crawl in the room on the floor and peek around the corner or use the mirrors,” Nathan alleged. “Really creepy sh*t, obviously. Because it's, like, your girlfriend. Why do you even have to do that?” Drug use was also a significant part of the parties, according to Nathan, who claimed Combs was particularly fond of ecstasy and ketamine. He alleged that these substances fueled Combs' sexual compulsions, making him “a sex addict” and an “obsessive drug addict.” Nathan even suspects he was unknowingly drugged at one of the events, describing a "horrible reaction" that left him disoriented. “This stuff had me so out of my mind,” he said, describing Combs as “entrenched” in his addictions. Combs' legal team has worked to present him as a changed man, particularly in light of the 2016 incident where he was seen abusing then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. His lawyers pointed to his willingness to return to New York despite knowing he would be arrested as proof of his supposed "reformation." Nathan, however, strongly rejected that narrative. “It's bullsh*t,” he stated. “He's not reformed. He just wanted to get out of jail. He's the same person.” While Combs' legal team has declined to comment on Nathan's allegations specifically, his lead attorney, Marc Agnifilo, claimed that they had already interviewed multiple male sex workers connected to the mogul. “I have asked all the questions I could think of: Was anybody too drunk? Incan ritual sacrifice was a significant aspect of their religious beliefs and practices. The Inca civilization, which flourished in the Andean region of South America from the early 15th century until the Spanish conquest in the 16th century, had a complex understanding of the spiritual world and the role of sacrifice within it.The Incas believed in the existence of powerful deities who controlled various aspects of nature, fertility, and human affairs. To maintain harmony and balance with these deities, they performed ritual sacrifices, which were considered essential for ensuring the well-being of their society.One of the most well-known forms of Incan sacrifice involved offering human lives to the gods. These sacrifices were typically conducted during important religious ceremonies and festivals, such as Inti Raymi (the Festival of the Sun) or Capacocha (a ritual of sacrifice and burial). The individuals chosen for sacrifice were often children, adolescents, or young women, although adult sacrifices also occurred on occasion.The selection process for sacrifice victims was rigorous and highly symbolic. Children were often chosen from noble or elite families, as their status was believed to enhance the efficacy of the sacrifice. These individuals were considered pure and sacred, and their sacrifice was viewed as a supreme act of devotion and honor.Incan sacrificial rituals were carried out with great solemnity and precision. The chosen individuals were adorned in fine garments and given ceremonial objects before being led to the site of sacrifice, typically a mountaintop or sacred location. There, they were often drugged or intoxicated to induce a state of trance or unconsciousness before the ritual took place.The methods of sacrifice varied but often involved methods such as strangulation, blunt force trauma, or exposure to the elements. In some cases, victims were left to die of exposure or starvation, particularly in high-altitude locations where the air was thin and temperatures were extreme.The reasons for these sacrifices were multifaceted. Firstly, they were seen as offerings to appease the gods and ensure their continued favor and protection over the Incan people. What's Your Word? Around this time every year, successful people are planning next year and many, declare to me the WORD they have chosen to guide their life.  I like words - especially when combined with wisdom and a few wisecracks - but that might be just me.  Still, I'm always amazed at how excited people get and how much they believe their WORD will guide them into the next year. I'm jealous. I need a WORD, too - and that's where the trouble begins. I can't imagine choosing a single word to represent 365 days of getting after it. However, having a WORD is an emotional trigger and fires neurons in your brain to keep you moving, so why can't my WORD be several WORDS? Just like magic - they arrived… Simple. Sophisticated. Focused. Automated. Delegated. Deleted. Ritualistic.  It's a little Stoic, and a lot of Scott LOGIC - it works for me. Still… I missed one. And it turned out to be the GLUE that held all those other words together. Resilient. That's the key to success.
